সিগারেটের সর্বোচ্চ খুচরা মূল্য বেধে দিয়ে বাড়তি রাজস্ব আয়ের পরিকল্পনা করছে সরকার। বর্তমানে সিগারেটের প্যাকেটের গায়ে লিখিত দরের চেয়ে খুচরা বিক্রেতা ১০ থেকে ২০ টাকা বেশি নেন। ফলে কম হচ্ছে রাজস্ব আদায়। তবে এই দুই দরের তফাৎ না থাকলে সরকারের আয় বছরে কমপক্ষে ৫ হাজার কোটি টাকা বাড়বে বলে মনে করেন রাজস্ব কর্মকর্তারা।
