The end of the debate is people can like either better and thats their choice and no one else can change that. Personally SA1 one is my favourite sonic game and it always will be.
Hate how there's valid reason to like one over the other, we should just agree that both are good in their own way, and then you get shitty ass comments going "one's better cope". Lovely Sonic fandom.
SA1 has better music, controls, stage themes, atmosphere, structure, and level design. SA2 has a better story, personality, and cut off gameplay styles that people didn't like. SA1 is still the clear winner in my book
@@ActuallyParty I'm gonna be frank with you though. If you do. Definitely do for content. Cause I did all that work from myself and it almost wasn't worth it 😆
Idk I love sa2 but sa 1 will always be the one I replay solely for the adventure field if sa 2 had that its the clear victor but to be able to just walk around the sonic world and talk with people idk as a kid I wasted hours on my life on my dreamcast talking with all the npcs
@@mechadeka in a way, yes, but also no. The point I was trying to make is that they are both the gold standard for those franchises, just as both Adventure games are for Sonic...
I personally prefer SA. But I also really enjoy the narrative scope and more refined aspects of the different characters in SA2. SA just has the better Sonic for me. And a lot of the levels are super-incentivizing for finding shortcuts with level geometry. It pretty much is just half Sonic, and half other characters. But I do like doing my playthrough on a send-off with Gamma. They are both good games. There really is no reason to put one down over the other. Because they do different things, and handle them in their own way. I just happen to like the HUB worlds and overall variety in the SA soundtrack.
I liked sonic adventure 1 and 2 equally as a kid, but as grew older and looked back, sonic adventure 2 has a much higher skill ceiling and more replayability. In sonic adventure 1, all you have is spindash jumps to skip half the levels, which is really fun but not deep. SA2 can be more frustrating, but if you stick with it, learning every trick to do in the level and all the best strategies to grab that A rank at the end, nothing beats that feeling. Both are amazing games that get overhated nowadays
Honestly, I think the Treasure Hunting is way better in SA2. SA1’s is just piss easy cause of the tiny map sizes and Tikal hints just telling you exactly where to go. I never take longer than a minute in 3/5 of Knuckles stages. And the other 2 stages are easily beatable in 2-3 minutes. The hunting stages in SA2 require more exploration, puzzle solving, thinking. People hate the nerfed radar but it only adds to the experience imo. You can still find emeralds even if you’re not tracking them which is really rewarding when it happens.
@@ActuallyParty No, I just like emerald hunting gameplay. If you like emerald hunting in SA1 but not in 2, then you don’t like emerald hunting. You just like flying around as Knuckles as long as you don’t have to spend more than 2-3 minutes in them.

ahha its an opinion and a valid one for sure, i try to take every comment like that with a grain of salt
Finally, the confrontation between two titans we've all been waiting for!

SA2 was the first game I ever 100% completed! Great video brother!
thank you! i might have to 100% myself soon, the game since so many people have brought it up

This is like asking "which is better. Wrath Of Kahn or The Empire Strikes Back?"
Those are both sequels
@@Atomsk359 They are also the best of their respective franchises
I don't get it. Wouldn't it be more accurate to compare it to A New Hope or Empire Strikes Back?

Sonic Adventure 1 is better objectively, but ya'll can like Sa2 more.
thats not what the video said though
Neither is "objectively" better than the other. Get off your high horse brother, you're allowed to like both games
On pros and cons I agree on everything except grinding in SA2, that was awesome
it is awesome but it doesnt look as awesome, its a bit stiff in my opinion

I just fully prefer SA over SA2. To each their own.

There was any debate about this?
there’s a debate about everything
I still prefer SA over SA2.
I think a lot of Tails fans like myself feel the same way.
they done did my boy tails dirty in SA2
Sonic Spinball for the Sega Genesis is easily the best Sonic game ever made.
I still prefer SA1 Sonic gameplay over SA2. The physics of SA2 are too floaty. I always felt faster and more powerful in SA1 as Sonic.
you’re definitely faster in Adventure 1
I love the stories and music, but I don't like either gameplay wise. I'm sure they were great for their time though
I've always prefered SA2 to SA1. SA2 is probably the sonic game i've spent the 2nd most time with only behind Sonic Generations with mods.
SA2 SWEEP!!

SA2 wins at everything. But you better believe i sing Open Your Heart just a bit harder than Live and Learn
There ain't no debate. SA2 clears and improves on what SA1 did in every way, although SA1 is still a good game (minus the Amy and Big stages)
this guy gets it
Sa1 better
Cope lol
sorry seth, it lost
@ActuallyParty NO WAY I CANT BELIEVE THIS
