Single woman named Miss Howard dies in the 60s, two young girls who moved in to the house after her death were told by the local kids about how the spinster Miss Howard lived and died there, they inexplicably start seeing a ghostly apparition they feel is called Miss Howard, ten years later a new family moves in, the young girl who now lives there starts also seeing a ghostly apparition she feels is called Miss Howard. If this isn't proof of ghosts, I don't know what is.

Loved this. I love the podcast and was worried it wouldn’t transfer well to TV but it does. Brilliantly engaging and a great first episode, can’t wait for what’s to come ‘Bloody hell….. Ken!’

For anyone watching this. It's just.. not real. I've lived in Melbourn for 21 years. I've walked past that very house for a lot of them years. No one in Melbourn really ever knew about this or cared. There was a bakery yes and that sadly got shut down but I'm pretty sure it was the building next to that. Children are susceptible to things like this which she was when these things happened.
As a local this just isn't real. I've never once known that house to be something as "haunted".
I'm pretty sure the owners aren't letting them inside the house too because they're having them on. 😂😂 it's not a surprise.
I will tell you one thing. The cafe next to it is HAUNTINGLY GOOD. 😂😂 I'd advise if you're travelling here to go there. Great cafe great people.
It's nice they've done a documentary on my village but it's one about some people who believe in fake things.
Melbourn is an interesting place. Could have done something about the butchers the way of life here the history even. There's so many more interesting things to Melbourn than this.

The supernatural exists. Only reason science cannot say it does is that we cannot recreate the experience and produce the same results every time. Example to know one’s IQ you need to get the same results every time presented with an iq test. We needed the ghosts to cooperate to appear at the specific place and time and recreate the experience every time the set conditions are met.

@@frontenac5083 yeah and i hate to admit it but my logic fails me. What i can only say is my 2 brothers and 1 sister witnessed it in our house. I think it was 12 mn when all lights were out, suddenly loud noises woke us siblings. We heard Spoon and forks banging on ceramic plates, tap water hitting the stainless steel sink and the ambient noise as if we were in a wet market. Unlucky for my brother, he slept at the living room/dining room (same room btw we’re poor) and he saw all of it. He saw shadow people walking and serving food, smoking, utensils used, eating and then he yelled so loud and ran to our parent’s room. We all went to him and the following morning we all confirmed what had happened except our parents. They said they didn’t hear a thing.
Looking forward to series Two.

I've just watched it on iPlayer. Cliché ridden nonsense. There is not a shred of 'evidence' (apart from anecdotal) that anything out of the ordinary even happened. 😂
I've listened to the podcast over the last few days and have just finished watching the TV shows.
It's such absolute nonsense.
There is no real sceptical investigation.
They use spooky music to set the atmosphere. The radio programmes in particular use lots of scary sounds. Robins speaks about the cases as if they are true.
He uses affirmative suggests such as saying these people had the same experience instead of the more realistic they claim these thongs happened.
The sceptics don't interview the believers.
There's a general acceptance of the accounts with little challenge to what is claimed.
There's no mention that the oujda board was originally a game.
There was only a slight nod towards the psychological explanation for the claimed events.
It seems to me all the acceptance and non questioning approach by Robins is just to sell his books and further radio/ TV programmes.
It's because nothing out of the ordinary happens.

Team septic?
Just watched the first episode. A clever presentation of absolute *claptrap.* The show implies, (both in the trailers and intro), a degree of balance: _"team believer v "team septic"._ However the show is completely bias towards believer. The format clearly does not permit the sceptic expert (a psychologist) to raise the possibility that those who claim to have seen the ghost, could be *complete flipping liars.* So he has to clutch at straws and say maybe it was hallucinatory mold spores - over several years *!* - lol. A simple analysis shows a huge body of evidence (from this show alone), to demonstrate that the witnesses are very likely to be lying. I can list it all if anyone wants (I noted each as I watched), but to be honest I can scarcely be bothered, because the show was *sooo* disappointing in being *yet another unscientific, dramatic, clickbait-style faux documentary (this time thinly and falsely dressed as being balanced, thinly and falsely dressed as scientific).* I was naive in hoping for better when I spent time on this: I certainly won't waste any more of my life watching this cunningly deceptive clap-trap series.
Not watched it all because I'm not in the UK and can't be bothered to VPN at the moment, but I do listen to and enjoy the podcast of Uncanny. However, I do share your view. I wish the sceptics were allowed to be more thoroughly sceptical. There's definitely a bias towards believing on the show. Nevertheless, there's been some interesting audio episodes that I've enjoyed regardless of believability.
Yeah interesting also the fact that Danny ran a segment years ago where he shot down three Psychics.
It certainly makes a refreshing change from the media narrative (Ricky Gervais etc) that we should just accept that there isn't anything.

Just watched it - was GREAT, Looking forward to the coming episodes. Been there and done that with the paranormal and "ghosts", as have other family members. Miss Howard doesn't seem ominous or threatening. The story of the old fellow in the nightshirt with the candle was hilarious. 😂
It would be interesting to see if the other two women point miss Howard in the picture in further esps of uncanny

Well I can't find the full episode (after searching through google), but I did find this trivia on imdb: "The identification of "Miss Howard" would have been more believable had the presenter not told the young woman that the photo was of a woman named Howard prior to showing her." So that makes me not want to watch it now lol

One night as I was falling asleep dogsitting at my parents house as they were on vacation. I had an instant and immediately feeling that a man was in the room watching me. I looked and saw nothing and even said something to the effect of ‘man these ghosts in this house! I’m trying to sleep- please leave me alone!’. 45 minutes later I got a phone call from my mother. My father had dropped dead of a heart attack. She was calling from the hospital where they had transported him.
