After Kamloops, VIA RAIL follows the North Thompson River northward to Jasper.About 40 kms. North of Blue River, you follow the Albreda River for a short distance. Between Tete Jeune Cache and Moose Lake is Fraser River. These three rivers flow towards the Pacific. After Jasper you follow the Athabasca River and it's flowing towards the Arctic Ocean.

You can get private sleeping area's on VIA, it just costs more. They're located further back on the train. If you walk back towards the lounge area with the snacks and the upper observation dome, you'll pass by the narrow hallways with the "Prestige class" sleepers similar to Amtrak. VIA just has the 2 styles of sleeping areas vs Amtraks multi options.

Nice, but extremely impractical. Feel really sorry for attendants having to do this for every passenger on every trip every day of the trip.

They're either pre-made pods that need bedding for every guest or something like this that need made up. Sheets have to be changed regardless of style of bed.
There's plenty of coach options that don't give passengers bedding or a flat place to sleep. So it's not like it's every passenger. They've paid more for a bed. An attendant is only responsible for 1.5 cars.

I had the upper birth, loved being lulled to sleep westbound out of Winnipeg at 2 am...flying down the Rivers Sub at 80+ miles per hour...man I miss the Canadian already!
