Yes mam. My week schedule is 5 day's of USCCA Classes, then after class 30min to 1 hour of dry fire training Saturday and Sunday live fire on what I've gone thru the week on Classes and dry fire training. I gotta say. I've come a LONG WAY, in only a month of training. I'm loving, my Smith&Wesson M&P9 2.0 4.25 metal. OUTSTANDING job Smith&Wesson did on making it. 😎🤘🍻

Smith and wesson changed the idea of larping, to training. "I'm not paying with my Firearms, I'm training💪"
Well why don't you just go outside and train and shoot it?
" 'cause...That magazine on the table is currently holding $25"

Also use hand grip exercisers and light dumbells for strength exercises and use snap caps to protect the firing pin/striker which by chambering these will be a double check that the firearm has not been loaded with live cartridges.

But you didn’t mention if it was okay to use dummy rounds in a S & W compact 22... I was told not to dry fire it without them since it could damage the firing pin.

    • @SmithAndWessonInc

Use dummy rounds if you are nervous about damaging your firearm. All the firearms used in this video are center fire. It is not recommended to dry fire a 22.

Hello, thanks for the video S&W and Julie Golob! I own a Smith & Wesson M&P® 9 M2.0™ (4.25 inch) and a Smith & Wesson M&P® 9 SHIELD™ EZ® M2.0™ (3.675 inch). I believe it is safe to dry fire these specific two firearms. Is that correct? Thanks in advance!

Hey there! Yes, you can dry fire. You can also invest in some snap caps that help prolong the life of your firing pin.

It is not recommended to dry fire rimfire 22LR firearms. Use dummy rounds when dry firing a 22.

@@fivepoint5sicks I've thought about doing it for a while. I just didn't get an answer from anyone that I've ever asked. Even the local gun shop didn't have a definitive answer. Any way to get trigger time without blowing threw a couple hundred dollars in ammo at the range is a bonus. Thanks for your answer. I just hope you're right.

@@papaschuette I own a shield as well as their m&P9 2.0f and I been doing it for year's. The shield is a center fire pistol. The pin does not come in contact with anything to cause damage or deformation upon dry-fire.

@@papaschuette If you want to work on your trigger control i.e. pulling the trigger without disturbing the sight alignment, a great dry-fire practice is to balance a coin on your front sight(horizontally) and try to squeeze the trigger and let the pin drive home without the coin falling off.
It seems impossible at first but you will master it and your accuracy will improve tenfold.

    • @papaschuette

@@fivepoint5sicks Thank you for putting my mind at ease. I never even pulled the trigger to remove the slide. I always used the little yellow tab. Because I was worried about putting more wear and tear on it than necessary. I'm gonna start doing your little suggestion with the coin. It definitely would stop me from jerking the trigger and reinforce a smooth trigger squeeze. Thanks for the tip.

Should I use snap caps when dry firing? I have both an M&P full size and compact chambered in .22

    • @juliegolob
      @juliegolob 3 года назад +3

It's a good idea with centerfire pistols (your 9). You definitely should use a dry fire plug for the rimfire (22). Dryfiring a .22 without such will damage your firearm.
