I'm surprised you didn't mention Spinosad. It's also considered to be organic, if that matters to you. It can be harmful to bees for up to three hours after spraying, so spray it very late in the day, as the sun is setting. Once it dries, it only affects insects that actually feed on the leaves. It washes off in the rain and is safe for use on food crops up until the day of harvest. Also, BLUE sticky traps are more effective than yellow... but really the sticky traps are meant for monitoring rather that control. But they do help.

I think the reason I had bugs indoors was the fact I used soil from outside and then the eggs hatched indoors? Horsetail is a natural insecticide/fungicide that works well.
Where in Canada are you set up? As I’m in southern Ontario and we get a wide variety of little buggers! Spider mites I find to always be a problem, where do they tend to come from? Indoors. I keep a spotless room suggestions?
Her in California my biggest pest issues come mid flower (sept-Oct outdoors) is caterpillars. Those sons of bitches have devistated my crop in a matter of hours! they bite the braches between nugs and kill the buds off fast. Insect netting on a frame around my in ground plants has worked really well. I put the netting up as soon as preflowers start to show.
This year 2024 I've had negligible problems with bugs. However, the flowers are getting stinky so I fear the bitches are on the way. BT on a weekly basis is helpful but I examine each cola each night. I grow in 3-5 gal pots so I bring them in the garage at night to keep them dry. I live 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean so mold is an issue.
Damn thrips. I had seen signs on the leaves on week 6 in veg but thought it was lacking cal mag . After countless searches I came across an identical picture of my problem, only thing is I am a week away from harvest. so i think i will let it fly as is, for one more week. I just refused some clones as I was worried about bringing pests with them. Blah!
Yes neem seed oil is perfectly safe to use. there is some science out there that suggests it may be harmful to humans but we're not certain yet. other studies before that showed No ill effects on humans but still I take caution to not spray it into the fan or inhale it when applying it. I also make sure it's flushed out before harvesting. I don't know what he was talking about when he said some people don't like neem seed oil I've never heard anyone say they don't like it
I used neem oil to rid of everything including rat mites on my dogs and myself. It's no where near as toxic as putting smoke in your lounges... you'll be fine

Nice Mr. Green beard ! And very informative Tips and advice ! Thank you and bless up!
Still the best vids to this day
I think the reason I had bugs indoors was the fact I used soil from outside and then the eggs hatched indoors? Horsetail is a natural insecticide/fungicide that works well.
sounds about right.
Believe it or not also full of silica
Neem oil is awesome. Use it properly and its EZ mode.
Where in Canada are you set up? As I’m in southern Ontario and we get a wide variety of little buggers! Spider mites I find to always be a problem, where do they tend to come from? Indoors. I keep a spotless room suggestions?
I was just wondering how many times do you water your beard.
Thank you 🙏 GOD BLESS EVERYONE
As always Lex, great information I look forward to more....just finished dealing with these little disrespectful buggers
The blue DAWN dish washing soap with the duck on the label kills thrips , spider mites and fleas ( also bath my dog in that ) on contact
If it’s in your closet use neem oil it works good and cut the leaves the eggs are piled up under
Her in California my biggest pest issues come mid flower (sept-Oct outdoors) is caterpillars.
I used Dr. Doom 1 time then done h2o2 foliar sprays every second day for a week gone. H2o2 also helped to was off any left over dr. Doom
During flower?
@@Rabbit.760 never spray during flower
@@D.o.a normally ya but there's exceptions
@@Rabbit.760 I would never risk buds for a spray unless you like washing buds or smoking chemicals
Capt Jacks Insecticidal Soap works great on thrips aphod motes and gnat. DONT forgwt to mist the soil too.
Blah!
What happened I’m in the same situation week 6 in veg considering throwing the plants away at this point as much as I don’t want too
You’d make a good tv presenter. Very fluent vids, some really useful info. Keep up the good work!
Hes the best I've found so far after 10 years on here
My fav channel I must admit
spraying the soil with neem oil every 2 days is OK then???
Yes neem seed oil is perfectly safe to use. there is some science out there that suggests it may be harmful to humans but we're not certain yet. other studies before that showed No ill effects on humans but still I take caution to not spray it into the fan or inhale it when applying it. I also make sure it's flushed out before harvesting. I don't know what he was talking about when he said some people don't like neem seed oil I've never heard anyone say they don't like it
I used neem oil to rid of everything including rat mites on my dogs and myself. It's no where near as toxic as putting smoke in your lounges... you'll be fine
Some people say it's good for you so who tf knows lol
You spray them with yellow soap and alcohol.
A very small burst of fly spray from far away works well too, probably not the best option but it works.
never had a bug issue, dwc and being canadian likely is a big part of it.
Should you remove the damaged leaves?
I have that same problem with leafhoppers. They make the same damage. Grow is outdoors. No thrip problem only leafhoppers
Word lex, and we down south get pest in the warm months... come on winter !!!!
People have misinformation about neem. I'm not saying you should spray it in flower, but veg is absolutely fine and yes I know it systemic but its gone by harvest time.
What are the negatives of neem oil? Kicks ass in the vege garden.
Nice summary about thrips.
Ive had thrips in a constant state of near eradication for over a year. Cant kill em all the way though. Thanks for this
Neem oil has worked great for me.
@@kahuna7433 been using a neem foliar spray weekly. It holds them in place but hasnt killed all of them. Fucking perpetual grow.
@@VanemanaAMVs Hey bud try not spraying your soil and get beneficial nematodes, they are cheap and eat the fuck out of thrip larva and will keep a population in your soil to prevent other bugs. Good luck those bastards never do seem to completely go though youre right about that
I have used everything neem oil included,,,for an infestation it is not enough,,,,Lysol with peroxide will kill them instantly but not spay that on your plants.
In veg use malathion or sulfur
Lex is 🇨🇦 😃😃 shoutout to all Indoor Canadian Growers!
I use DE in my soil haven't seen bugs since I started using it
What ?
Know it's an old vid. BUT found what looked like a spider mite but it had a black body and looked like the predator mite (but dark) suggestions?
keep em green aka jgood - Kill it. You’re welcome. ☝️🥴👍
@@EnlightenedRogue24 best idea I came up with too🤣😂hope the 🐞🐞🐞 will keep any other bad bugs on the buffet✌🚫🕷🐛🙏
Lex, i havent heard any negative thoughts on neem oil as you mentioned that other people have. Would you be able to clarify?
Use a mineral oil spray like suffoil instead.
The picture you showed on 2:13 is the e powedry mildew not a thrips attack.
What is the best fertilizer to put on my cannabis plants . Win they are in flowers and good big bud
I am releasing ladybugs and some beneficial nematoades

@@grxygxds Unless you spray them with sugar water
@@grxygxds - Mine don't. I put the on the plant in the dark the first time and they stick around.
Romulan kush88 not fly away but fly into the grow light 🤣
I just spotted some. Very little. It was outside n I brought it in a few weeks prior. I'll never do an outdoor grow again
Thank you needed this info I heard of neem oil but wasn't sure if it would work on these thrips I got in grow tent I used diatomaceous earth in soil already but the ones on leaves so small it's hard to crush them all
Where do they come from? The room super clean..can they hatch from the seed itself if the seed came from an infected mother? Believe i have these critters noticed soon as seed broke surface and spread it appeared to have the white spotting issues.. thanks for any help on the matter they tearing me down one leaf at a time!

Spray the tobacco guts with water from a backwood or a Dutch and trust me it’ll keep most bugs away
I live in California and never had a problem with aphids or spidermites. But thrips drive me nuts every year

Cinnamon? Copper wires?
What is wrong with neem oil? I've had nothing but success with it. But I'm using 100% cold pressed and creating an emulsion.
I am getting ants burrowing in my pots and I'm freaking out trying to figure out how to get rid of them . Any suggestions getting them out of my soil?? Anything will help at this point they are in my four biggest best plants .
@Old Guy Do I mix with water or just top feed and put some around pots?
@Old Guy I appreciate the advice
Decent advice but prevention is the key,!! Don't go straight into your grow room from anywhere you will be the "vector" practice good entry BadMF
Just curious, what's the concern with neem oil?
My plant looks like the picture for the video. I have since cleaned my plant and done a lot to get rid of thr pests. With my plant looking like it is am i still safe to smoke the buds? thank you
Hello Lex. Question. I found a adult thrip in my indoor garden about a week ago but I cannot see any thrips or damage. Is it possible that it just flew in there or do I have them and just cant see them.
Neem products don't kill the thrips here in Oregon.Monterey Insect Spray works perfectly. It's hard to see the adults ever.
Aphids have been my biggest enemy outdoor big time, thrips I notice a few but have been worse indoor for some reason
You need to order lady bugs...they're the best for taking care of them
You ever use predator nematodes
