Starliner Cursed! Something Bad Happening on SpaceX Cargo to ISS due to...
So strange!
It seems that while Dragon is thriving, the road to the ISS has been riddled with challenges for everyone else lately. The cargo spacecraft SpaceX launched just yesterday to resupply the ISS is now encountering problems. Is there a curse following in Starliner's wake?
But don’t worry-SpaceX is pushing ahead with its crew missions to the ISS this year, highlighting an exciting new partnership between the US and India. And let’s not forget Rocket Lab, which has just launched its latest Electron mission!
Buckle up and dive into these thrilling developments in today’s episode of Great SpaceX!
Starliner Cursed! Something Bad Happening on SpaceX Cargo to ISS due to...
Following the recent incident, Falcon 9 has resumed its pivotal role in the aerospace sector with renewed strength.
On August 4, at 11:02 a.m. EDT, SpaceX's Falcon 9 successfully launched from SLC-40, carrying Northrop Grumman’s Cygnus spacecraft on its 21st cargo mission to the International Space Station (ISS), designated NG-21. This mission is notable as it marks the second launch of Cygnus aboard Falcon 9, following the NG-20 flight earlier this year. This transition represents Northrop Grumman's shift from using the Antares rocket to Falcon 9 for Cygnus missions.
Approximately eight minutes after launch, the first stage of the rocket executed a successful landing at Cape Canaveral’s Landing Zone-1, achieving its 10th flight milestone. Meanwhile, the second stage continued its trajectory, and about 15 minutes after liftoff, the Cygnus spacecraft was deployed and proceeded on its mission to the ISS.
The initial phase of the mission, with Falcon 9 at the helm, proceeded without issues, reinforcing SpaceX's reputation as a leading launch service provider. However, subsequent challenges arose with the Cygnus spacecraft.
Starliner Cursed! Something Bad Happening on SpaceX Cargo to ISS due to...
In a post-launch update, NASA officials reported: "Shortly after launch, the spacecraft missed its first scheduled burn at 11:44 a.m. EDT due to a delay in burn sequencing. Known as the targeted altitude burn (TB1), it was rescheduled for 12:34 p.m. EDT but was aborted shortly after ignition due to a slightly low initial pressure state. At this time, there is no indication of any problem with the engine itself."
Additionally, the mission faced delays as it was originally planned for August 3 but was rescheduled to August 4 due to adverse weather conditions.
While issues during space missions are not uncommon, the situation with Cygnus is noteworthy. The spacecraft had successfully completed 20 previous cargo missions without incident. The recent problems, occurring in the wake of Starliner's arrival at the ISS and other global challenges with rocket systems, may suggest a broader trend of difficulties affecting space missions.
This mission is also indirectly linked to the Starliner situation. The Cygnus spacecraft is carrying approximately 3,720 kilograms (8,200 pounds) of cargo, which includes 1,560 kilograms of vehicle hardware, 1,220 kilograms of scientific investigations, and 1,021 kilograms of crew supplies. This cargo is crucial for the ISS, especially given the delay of the Starliner Crew Flight Test (CFT-1), which has left astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams relying on the station’s emergency reserve food supplies. For those skeptical of any intangible influences, the tangible impact of these delays on the ISS is evident.

Not a SpaceX problem. Northrup Grumman
@@raymondhunt751 yes but the damn title makes wonder that the problem is with SpaceX.
This channel is crap.
No, nothing bad happed on Space X Cargo. Cignus (payload) is having trouble. Please don't bait and switch.
Yeah
Stick a fork in it, Starliner is done! Give Starliner's remaining contract missions to SpaceX.
So it was Cygnus space craft built by Northrop Grumman, Nothing to due with SpaceX, they got them up where they needed to be. The cargo ship is not a product of SpaceX so why does your title Infer it?
Yeah, we explain this in the video
@@colonbina1That's locking the stable door after the horse has bolted. Just don't do it. The damage is done before a word of dialogue is heeded.

That is called clickbait

Lame click bait title which isnt true.
Great job SpaceX getting payload in the correct orbit. 👍👍👍
Right
What's really upsetting is that Boeing and NASA are being less than transparent on their updates to say the least. The American Taxpayers are not stupid especially when good money continues to chase bad.
Yeah
@ 4:35 [Kevin] "...now, regarding Boeing Starliner Program, it may be time for a critical re-assessment"
*No, it's time to declare the thing an unmitigated failure.*
Bring the astronauts home on a Dragon capsule, and ditch the Stay-Liner into the Pacific,
*_and stop spending heaps of money on an obvious failure_*
💯💯
Bad headline on clickbait! Cygnus is Northrop Grumman Corporation spacecraft! Space X did what it suppose to do!😊
Dragon should bring the two astronauts back home and NASA needs to jettison the Starloser.
I'm totally agree to you 👍
😂😂😂 It’s gotta be asked if NASA and Starliner are aware that people are not that stupid and we see what a waste of Tax Dollars…
Great question👍
I think someone's gonna die while Boeing postures.....
🙁🙁🙁
I agree 💯
NASA should ditch Boeing regardless of lobbying. The safety and welfare of the astronauts should be paramount.
Yeah
Starliner is having a negative effect on all programs as well as tieing up a docking port.
CATCH titles just to draw in an audience is poor journalism.
Don't watch
@@timreed353 I wouldn't have but I thought Space X had a problem
Good Morning, Kev. You are right. It seems strange. Disconnect Starliner. Try to dump it the ocean. Send SpaceX up and bring them back. Decertify any change of Starliner. That is what this is all about. Getting it certified. Like Musk said, "We don't need another capsule." I like Rocket Lab. I would like to see them evolve into something bigger. Any news on Sierra Space today? Have a Great Day, Kev.
Great comment, bro. Have a nice day
Starliner is a lemon 🍋.
Scap it totally before it costs any more money.
😂😂😂
It isn't surprising... Boeing is use to cost plus contracts where being late and over budget was good for them the fix Price contract has totally screwed up there work flow ..
Bad clickbait title - implies something wrong with SpaceX craft when in fact its the Cygnus, SpaceX launched it but the Falcon performed flawlessly. Other than the clickbait titles the content is informative.
Exactly what I thought. There is nothing wrong with falcon.
Hey, at least Boing Starliner's doors didn't blow off! 🤪
Don't hold your breath.
@@cybervigilante You better SHOULD hold your breath when flying Boing. 😜
No problem for SpaceX in this resupply mission. The problem is all on Northrop Grumman
Yeah
starliner was a waste of money, and still is
Hopefully not a waste of life, what say you SLICK WILLY NELSON?
👍👍👍
I disagree. Often such endeavors provide lots of value simply from what is learned.
best wishes to SpaceX Cargo to ISS
Its not SpaceX cargo it is Northrop Grumman Cygnus cargo.

04:36 Starliner news starts here
Just the same old news rehashed over and over again.
Clickbait liar...
Boeing can not be sold to India because Boeing is a US military defense contractor.
This video is a lie. Don't lose your time.
We should get rid of all non-hackers, just like the Marines!
While I have very little confidence in Starliner, the point was to have multiple and independent capability for manned missions to the ISS. The F9 incident a month or so ago demonstrates that a failure can ground a system for an unknown length of time. As good as Dragon and F9 has been (and, has NASA given an OK for F9 to carry crew given the mishap?), it is possible for moderate to severe disruptions due to a mishap.
Cancelling Starliner may remove one thorn, but it doesn't replace it with anything else that is viable for the near future. The only one I can think of that might be capable is Dreamchaser.
It sounds like SpaceX knew exactly what failed and how to fix it and have already made the change. So Insuspect they are all clear now that they have returned to flight, especially given their successful track record.
You don't need multiple providers if you have one with way more capacity than you need and who has shown a near flawless capability.
@@NateDecker1982 IIRC, the FAA didn't require a mishap report before returning to flight because the failure did not involve a public safety issue. If something were to happen where the FTS needed to be invoked, it probably would have involved a significant grounding period.
Wasn't the SpaceX components that failed. Was Cygnus
That is what Boeing gets for using their 737 engineers
Hoping that everything goes well in space
♥️♥️♥️
It is agreed that at this time, the SpaceX Dragon has the best reliability with respect to traveling to and from the International Space Station (ISS). However, we should recognize that the Dragon spacecraft is really only intended to transport to the ISS, while the Boeing Star Liner has been designed to go to the ISS and beyond (i.e., Moon, etc.). So, if the current version of the Starliner is not acceptable, then its rework must be done with the Dragon standing in. If the Starliner is completely dropped, then a whole new and different craft would need to be fabricated by Boeing or whoever. If only Dragon is used, its usefulness will be affected by the expiration date for the ISS. unless only low earth orbit missions are considered.
Boeing is done, the writing is on the wall in bold highlighter. The trad companies are failing. Same old way of doing business as if you're still sucking off the government teet, SpacEx is the only one that has shown a viable program.
> while the Boeing Star Liner has been designed to go to the ISS and beyond
Really? According to wikipedia's entry, "[Starliner] is ... designed to transport crew to the International Space Station (ISS) and other low-Earth-orbit destinations". The Artemis program is for lunar missions.
@@Zhiroc You can never go wrong citing wikipedia...smh
Are you confusing Starliner with Orion?
@@michaelmicek Not really. Starliner is really the precursor for Orion. What affects Starliner is germane for Orion.
NASA demanded multiple ways to reach the ISS, so Boeing accepted the challenge and suffered because of the fixed price contract. Sure they underestimated the effort required.
You need to wonder if this effort is worth the NASA design aims. The ISS is planned to be destroyed in the not so distant future. So really, is it worth the effort to have redundancy?
The Artemis program is being actively targeted as being too expensive.
All this activity isn't cheap folks. Is it really worth the effort?
Will Butch replay that not so famous scene during the reentry of Vladimir Komarov (who was supposedly heard by listening posts in Turkey as he plummeted to his death) by transmitting "This devil machine is cursed! Everything I touch breaks!"?
Perhaps... just perhaps, the education of the newer stock of engineers and management has been adversely effected by the high level of technology and computer aided design built into the curriculum. Without knowing or understanding the underlying function and mechanics of a system the engineers and management have allowed these systems to atrophy, causing the whole ecosystem to fail. But what do I know, maybe the Saturn era personnel got lucky.
What NASA could do is to buy some Falcon 9 boosters and second stages to operate themselves in place of the Starliner.
the point of starliner was to have dissimilar redundancy. if you're just operating falcon 9 vehicles you might as well just contract through spacex?
@@AmbientMorality Well, dissimilar isn't working here and it is very expensive.
How can you get your videos so wrong? Space X operated perfectly. The re supply mission was conducted by Northrop Grumman. I know you say this later but your opening remarks indicate a problem with Space X. I think this is another one of your traps to get people to watch. You do not have to do this you have enough followers.

Did space weather affect the resupply mission?
It seems we see a slow motion catastrophic event happening before our eyes, which in the end will cost the lives of those astronauts. What a horrible mismanagement.
I dont think they will die, but if they return in dragon then all the other following missions will get pushed back causing huge issues

How about "Dragon is thriving" in the title of the video instead of using it for a fallback position when your clickbait gets called out? Sick of dubious titles UNSUBBED.
living with sister a monochrome fantasy
Seriously? NASA is having a lot of trouble executing its primary mission: space exploration. If they can't do that, why are we to believe they can do their non-mandated missions. Since NASA has been caught altering climate data, can we accept anything they say about climate science?
more "elon bad" bullshit from great spacex. are you compromized or what?
I don’t believe in curses. However, if they want to take some precautions just in case, they could try carrying a protective talisman, burning sage to cleanse the space, or placing a bowl of salt near the entrance of their capsule.
I reckon Osiris and Apollo both have the hump with NASA. This might be a good time for some human sacrifices in both cults. High tech ones though, nothing primitive
Man, those two astronauts up there must be stacking up the overtime.
Hard to believe that after sending men to the moon multiple times, fifty-five years ago, thrusters are the problem.
I am retired from an aerospace company. We were literally strangled by ULA product secrecy. Communications were strictly enforced. procedures were choked. None of the people I worked with wanted anything to do with this bedraggled project
Why are they so concerned about the future? Their first priority should be to safely return
the two astronauts to earth. They’ve been there for two months now. Is this what Boeing
calls reliability? NASA should scrap all remaining contracts with Boeing, or give them to
Space X.
Boeing thinks Cygnus is a whistle blower and reacts accordingly.
Stayliner needs to be flown home on autopilot. If all is good they can say I told you so. If not then they prove that astronaut safety is paramount.
😂😂😂
We need as many human capable launch providers as is possible. While Starliner is embarassing at best, the world needs them to succeed! Same for Blue Origin. The world can't depend on SpaceX alone!
I just ignore the title and listen to the story…same as any other news network

Alguém assistindo???😊😊😊
No.
Rocket lab payload small but it is a start. They are steadily improving. Fit a good spot in space launch industry.
Sounds like they need more crew dragons as a backup.
Do you know if they have any on the ground apart from the 2 that are being used this month? Do you still have the original dragon incase there aren’t enough crew capsules for an emergency tesupply if needed?
I am convinced it was a Boeing Starliner MAX!
Something about "competition being good for a healthy industry", as long as the competition is healthy!
👍👍👍
Amazing
Yeah
Cygnus arrived on time if you were wondering.
It does not look good for Starliner. We will find out next week, next month, next years.
I hope NASA has a plan in place for the Starliner with SpaceX.
So this kurfuffle is not a SX problem as they did their job in getting the craft into orbit. Its Grumman who has the problem getting it to arrive at the Space Station.
I really hope and 🙏 Pray that everything goes good !❤!

I'd hate to see Butch and Suni's Hotel Bill....Hope Boeing are still good for it..

there is a curse. the ISS heard it was gonna get deorbited and decided "nah we gon be occupied forever"

Great comment👍
Why do you always call serious problems challenges?
Did the legacy company have to "struggle" to maintain the size of upper echelon management's bonus checks.?
The problem here is the obvious SpaceX bias. I'm very happy with SpaceX and I agree Boeing ain't doing well, but this channel does make a LOT of negative speculation that is unfounded about SpaceX competitors. This can be a pro-SpaceX channel without pushing unfounded, negative, speculation about the competition.
Listen well Boeing received double the Budget and delivered a POs that does it work the critics are rightly justified to be mad it’s my tax dollars going to a broken space craft 3 flights all failures same issues !! Space X is saving us money wake up !!
Bias that is so far from the truth space x is successful Starliner does not work after how much money Bias is an ignorant statement !! The fact is Boeing is a mess DEI killed Boeings quality control and engineering hiring practices this is the ended result !!
What negative "speculation" are you referring to? Two Astronauts have been stranded in space for 6 weeks now, with no return date yet. Will Boeing be able to get them home? is not "speculation", it is genuine concern. The problems Boeing is having are problems which should have sorted out by unmanned flights before putting two lives at risk.
@@Jedimaster-el1ve I've already said I like SpaceX, and I agree with you on the waste of money we have seen from Boeing on this. But that doesn't justify some of the speculation we hear on this channel. Further, that speculation isn't even necessary as folks can stick with the known issues and impacts and be negative enough with just that.
@@Jedimaster-el1ve I agree with you about the DEI bullsquat. But, let's not forget the teething troubles that SpaceX had too. Ignorance does abound here, but not from me.
Go woke stay in space stuck
But, but .. but we already been to the moon .. and landed and all that .. right ?? .. why can't Hollywood - NASA help the stranded ISS .. just make a movie production
Because they're all dead
India is opening a 7/11 at the ISS..."Please come again!"
Could NASA cancel Starliner and divert $ to Sierra Space for crewed Dream Chaser?
While they're at it, wind down SLS and divert funds to Hubble, Chandra and liner rover..
Maybe it's time for a paradigm shift from staus quo and engineering employment to mission and task focused efforts?
Why is there no news/talk about a Starship tower growing at Mcggegor site? (It's shown on google maps, PICS).
Best Wishes Dragon Baby.... Boeing Starliner is sick and I hope it gets well soon. Unfortunately Boeing is a financial services company that dabbles in aerospace systems.
Every company gets too hide bound after a while . At that point, quality begins to slip. SpaceX is no different. People working there for a long time get a bit more sloppy in their work. Boeing is a fine example of too big, too sloppy in their work. The American auto companies are another.
Here's a comment for you. My the gods of RUclips be happy.

i had a dream where on an island doing the Survival Challenge, a group could not find food, and since they were in international waters, not subject to any countries laws, it was decided to consume the weakest crew member.
Suddenly everyone became robust and resourceful and energetically out and about looking for any source of nourishment the Island or the Ocean could provide.
Funny how a little change in plan can make people either complacent or industrious depending on the press to SURVIVE.
