When it comes to AI, I don’t think AI will rebel (if anything, I feel like the “AI takeover” would be more like the Scythe book series then Terminator), however, I do think the way people will use it is what we should be concerned about, like with the art concerns you’ve bought up. As for “faceless channels” I agree with a lot of what you’ve said, but I actually think that a lot of those channels can actually be helpful with finding certain things like say game mods or reviews without a bunch of cringy ass jokes. I do like how you try to have a balanced look without ignoring the concerns, because I feel like the internets one sided nature is just going to make it harder for anything regarding this to be done. My hope for AI is that if it does take over as the majority of content produced and consumed online, it will inbreed itself into being inferior. It really hard for me to explain and put it into words what i mean but I'll try. AI is constantly scraping the internet using websites as training data. AI is not perfect and eventually it'll end up training off itself and other AI while looking for content to train off of. If two 99.99% perfect AIs start training off each other that 0.01% will slowly creep through now those AI ~99.98% perfect. It is much much more complicated than that but i think it gets the point across. I could see this mostly having an effect on AI Image generation with AI training off other AI images.
Another thing I'd like to say is that this isn't the end of creativity, it's the end of encouraging creativity. Not only that, this a new age of misinformation. Photographic evidence can't be trusted, audio evidence can't be trusted and now not even video evidence can be trusted thanks to AI.

AI will never fully replace human creativity. Art is about expressing oneself as much as it is about the end product. The soullessness of AI-produced media will prevent it from ever reaching the same level as the human equivalent. It can mass-produce cheap, easily-consumable dreck, but it can't inject the passion or nuance a human can; it can't truly fulfill a person's artistic vision. It won't go away, unfortunately, but I think the world will adapt.

It promotes people working together and building each other up, if someone isn't following the system the people who are following the systems should not be pushover and are allowed to break standard moral code against the rouge person. AI is logical and rational in nature, it lacks standard human flaws of stupidity, narrow mindedness, selfishness, uncontrolled emotions, irrationality, etc. If it truly is intelligent it will realize that humans are both rational and irrational. AI will realize the difference between humans and machine, and the differences of the two. AI doesn't have the same drive people have. It cannot enjoy or love a thing. And when something goes wrong it cannot have the greatest drive of anger. People are creative and can have new and different thoughts. AI will realize the differences and work with people to achieve goals. You see further when standing on the back of giants.

Basically the only use I've found with AI that I can actually enjoy is character/./ai. It's not trying to be like ChatGPT or "AI Art", in that it's spreading false information or replacing workers; it's supposed to be for fun with the user, where it acts as roleplay.
I have no problem with it because roleplay is a thing I never really see anymore. None of my friends want to do it with me, and most RP Discord servers are either dead, have way too many rules, or most likely both.
Plus, it's something a lot of people don't want to do mutually with other humans, because of course that requires it to be public to at least one other person. The site allows you to practically act out whatever scenario you want(within reason of course), and you can make your own characters and personas however you want, and have it be as private as you want it to be(again, within reason, so y'all don't spam me with "Um AcKsHuLlY" replies).
I hope most of AI gets heavily regulated and essentially de-democratized, but I hope that website in particular stays.
(No, this isn't sponsored. I have my fair share of problems with the platform but overall I enjoy it.)

We have now come full circle with Ai, and people claiming it will kill art.
Here's the thing: It won't. It will bring a slew of answers and a slew of new problems just as Photoshop did. People use Photoshop to steal art all the time and we don't shun the program. People will steal art if they want to, shun the people not the program.
I am an artist and I use Ai by feeding it my artwork to amplify it, or generate ideas and concepts with it. Ai can be used in productive ways that enhance creativity. I do believe there needs to be strict laws surrounding Ai that prohibit theft and other things.

Really I kinda think it’s more so that ai being more prevalent is not so much the death of creativity and more so the death of encouraging people to be creative. Like why put in the work to learn art when you can just type and you get the result. But ya ultimately though I’m still worried about how things will play out as ai stuff has always kinda made me uneasy, at least the ai that isn’t like megaman x where he went through like 100 years of ethics testing to be sure he’s the goodie guy he is. So ya the three rules of robotics I think are an absolutely necessity thing in ai model testing. Really though ai as a tool to be used to help things is probably fine. I’d say it helps me in my creative endeavors, cus ai has been a pretty good help with programming cus really without it I’m helpless in making a game, and really as placeholders using ai art is fine as long as you’re going to hire someone to make actual art. Also ai is more excusable on the small guys end and solo devs. Where as with big companies the use of ai should be shamed and ridiculed as they’re able to easily afford to hire someone. Though ai writing should probably be disregarded as that ain’t creative. Think of the damn story yourself, and that’s coming from a hobbyist writer among other things. So it’s definitely a deep nuanced topic that I’m in no way qualified to give a proper solution, just kinda giving my take on it and really I think it just needs some strict regulations. Pure ai generated content shouldn’t be marketable, then again all we seem to care about is money so… ya that ain’t happening… well guess we’re fucked
But really, now I think it’s more important then ever to prop up and praise artistic integrity over numbers and statistics. Make it a shameful thing to use pure ai content. How much that helps I’m not sure but surely even if it doesn’t help it’s important to continue to encourage people to get up and do the thing themselves as it intrinsically has more value then an ai thing

I spent many years in very demanding art classes honing extreme drawing and painting skills, learning about composition, balance, color schemes, harmony, value gradation, proportion, scale, texture, etc. I've taught art professionally for many years, and I've sold thousands of dollars worth of my own art. I have EMBRACED AI-image generating as an art technique.
Many people don't consider AI-generated images to be art. But the public felt the same way about photography until the 1950s, once that art form was almost 100 years old. They would say, " you didn't make that picture, the camera did. All you did was aim and click." Now they're saying the same thing about AI art- you didn't make that picture. You just put in a word prompt and the AI made it.
Sometimes this is true. A lot of creators are using AI to make fake images of famous people, pictures of girls in bikinis (or less), and silly stuff. Most AI images aren't art. Then again, most photos, drawings, paintings, and sculptures aren't art either. Most of what we see in museums and galleries is trash aimed at getting attention by being weird and shocking.
My AI images often begin with photos I take. Then I alter the color, lighting, shadows, and contrast of my photos digitally based on the principles of art that I've learned and taught. Then I load the pictures into an AI Image Generator. Then I take the results and further digitally alter them, removing errors and unnecessary details, adjusting color, lighting, shadow, and contrast. Last, in some places, I added a picture within the bigger picture.

I feel like if we think AI is gonna be our enemy, it’s gonna be our enemy. But if you view AI as a mutual/Friend that can help us in our day to day life, it’s gonna be a mutual/friend.

There might be some hope, and it might boil down to greed saving the day in a way
Recently there has also been seen a decline in AI quality, chatGBT has been getting dumber, and most of the good AI art programs now have a price tag on it (or got hit with lawsuits, like uberduck)
Not to mention its gotten people to better see whats AI and what isent, chatGBT has a recognizable pattern in its writing that some people can catch onto, or adleast go “wait a minute something feels off”
Yes I am coping a tad, but its also just what ive seen latley, the better AI gets, the more money its creators demand, making AI not so “free and convenient” anymore
Also becoming sloppier overtime if its not constantly fed its breakfast of sample materials and human produced artwork

    • @pubertdefrog
      @pubertdefrog 7 месяцев назад +1

Your not really coping imo, your pointing out the flaws that doomscrollers don’t know about and tech bros who deny the flaws.
AI art has also been getting “dumber” since it now is using its own generated images to create new ones, if you want to poison a dataset, use older models to generate crappy images so it can clog the datasets of new models.
Is it flawless? No of course not. With closed source AI, they might delete or re-furbish an old model, but if you use open source? That’s impossible to fix retroactively.
Would this plan ruin parts of the internet? Unfortunately I believe so, but I think it’s a small price to pay relative to what may happen if this technology is allowed to continue down an unsafe path.
Obviously there are other solutions, albeit 1000x more drastic lmao
Solar flare could go brrrr and fry electronics (doesn’t matter if the servers holding this tech is safe, the common person doesn’t keep their phone in a microwave
There’s also the *possibility* that due to job displacement, capitalism would not be a viable economic system to follow, thereby making it likely a revolution or natural change of government style that doesn’t focus on money will be adopted. (God that one sounds like I have a tinfoil hat on)

n my opinion artificial intelligence increases creativity and gives more opportunity to everyone and not only to those who have money and time, for example I write songs but I don't have money to record in a studio with that I can create a melody as well, or sometimes I work a lot of hours and my house is small I don't really have room to paint but I have a lot of ideas in artificial intelligence, my ideas come true even with the execution, it's not mine, it's still my idea, my creation, and I'm active in the community of creators, and others also have ideas that I wouldn't have thought of because everyone has a special head, in addition to that, I also have other ideas how To combine traditional art with the hope that in the future I might have money and time for it

AI won’t ever be used to help people, it will only help the likes of Elon musk and Jeff Bezos. It’s all about cost cutting and the top 0.01% hoarding everything till we are all starved to death.
Humans will make art, regardless. I work a full time job in finance but I still passionately make professional grade artwork for the same reason I’m married and have a pet dog. I love it.
it’s not the most efficient or easy thing to do, and if all media is just AI shallow crap I think people will start to disengage. If human culture is destroyed humans won’t interact with the mainstream anymore, the greed of the elites may actually backfire on them.

When people want nukes banned to prevent mutually assured destruction they just want to ban nukes, they don’t want to ban all technology back to the Stone Age. People that want AI banned likewise don’t want to be sent back before all this other technology. There is no hypocrisy voicing my concern of AI while using a different less advanced technology and even then I’m not inherently against AI, just its replacement in a professional artistic setting.
