- In this video I attempt to explain the school system in Northern Ireland and how it is different to the rest of the UK and Ireland and pretty much all other countries!
What is your school system like? Let me know in the comments!
You can also go to Year 13 and 14 in a secondary school. Although it is not compulsory there is the option. I am doing it.
I’m from Northern Ireland as well Jude ! Im in a grammar school and I’m going into year 13 ☺️
Wohoo!
Hi Eimear
DANKE! Jetzt versteh ich das Ganze ein bisschen besser :D
Wohoo! Ja es ist ein bisschen kompliziert aber ich bin froh, dass du jetzt besser verstehst!
Hi Jude, just stumbled on your page. Thanks for this information but i need more info for my 16yr old daughter. Just moved to NI
In the USA, mine is simple:
Elementary School (6 years)
Kindergarten (5-6)
1st grade (6-7)
2nd grade (7-8)
3rd grade (8-9)
4th grade (9-10)
5th grade (10-11)
Middle School (3 years)
6th grade (11-12)
7th grade (12-13)
8th grade (13-14)
Bonus: at the end of the 9 week, we have an exam
High School (4 years)
9th grade (14-15)
10th grade (15-16)
11th grade (16-17)
12th grade (17-18)
Bonus: Like Middle School, we have an exam at the end of the 9 weeks. We also have SAT test as well too.
I'd consider that a lot more complicated especially with the grade stuff
The grades are pretty much like our years but the system seems pretty linear in USA!
@@JudeKennedyATCL Also, does Scotland, England, and Wales have the same school system like Northern Ireland, cause the UK is split up and I think England, Scotland, and Wales have the same school system like Northern Ireland does.
@@sss91597 England and Wales are similar BUT they have different names for the years and their A Levels work slightly differently.
In Scotland, it is similar but they do different exams to the rest of the UK.
im going into year 8 and i did the aqe while having covid but im not going to a grammar school
i didn't do AQE and in a secondary. it's the same just a lot less formal i would say
All i know about ours (England) is that it is flawed
How is A a 7 or 8? In Brazil we consider that to be a B. A is 9 or higher, which I think is fair.
There is nothing higher than a 9
Going to y 8
What is complicated about this
Most of my subscribers aren't from the UK and so it can be confusing to people who don't know!
K what. County u from
@@glorytotheussr667 northern Ireland
I think most people aren't from the UK, and probably wouldn't understand the schooling system
I'm from Northern Ireland as well so I don't find it complicated :)
