As an Arsenal fan, i would say Madrid's decision to sell Ode n keep the trio of Luka, Toni n Case was justified. How many titles have they won with those 3. Odegaard could never break them apart because they are the perfect foil for each other. He would not just fit in that 3. They performed at the highest level for many years. Madrid isnt in the business for making money off transfers. They are the spenders. But anyways, I have to thank them for Ozil n Odegaard. Maybe who knows they would sell Valverde or Vinicius to us in the future. 🤞🏻

@@helmiafiq3017 They should have kept Odegaard to be the first backup 8 and keep getting more and more playing time as Modric and Kroos get Les and less. I understand not playing him over those two, but he has proved his quality in England. You should always be able to find a role for a player with this much talent.

@@Asshat237 well, they (Real Madrid) didn't keep him and we (Arsenal) got him for a bargain (by today's standards) and he is a natural born leader for both club and country..he has amazing vision and ability to both provide and execute goals that make the jaw drop.. here's hoping that he stays at Arsenal until a ripe old age..Viva el Rojas..!!!or something..

He's actually our first successful captain since Fabregas. That role has always been something of a "defence against the dark arts teacher" position in Arsenal.

Ozil is too absorbed with his own brilliance. He needs the entire team to be built around his abilities. Odegaard is more willing to play in a way to suit and enhance the strengths of his team mates. Of course, it helps that the guy has so many different abilities; intelligence, vision, passing, touch, dribbling etc

It's a matter of fact that back then Arsenal was awful, didn't have any serious help around him and Sanchez, either the few help was injured for half of the year every season or the other player was not good enough.

I remember watching him when he played in Norway.
It was quite a sight to see this kid dribbling of players twice his age.
Norwegian players are usually not as technical. At least considering 1 on 1, so i was thinking he is very special. It was kind of sad to see his career development. Though it was a big step from the top series in Norway, it was a downstep from Madrid. He got kind of forgotten... Until we heard that he got lot of praise for the 2021-22 season. Though being pro-LFC, i believe most of my countrymen feel pride on behalf of both him and Haalland.
Showing that we are more than "mountain-apes", as one prominent danish football coach once said.

Its quite simple to explain why ødegaard didnt succeed in Real. He is simply not the person to force modric and kroos out of a team. Even tho i think his potential is way bigger than both those fantastic players. His vision is simply beyond just about anyone... BUT.. for him to be able to use that he needs consistency... namely other players playing to his strenght. making the runs expecting "impossible passes" which noone else than Ødegaard is able to play... that just doesnt work when you are a substitute that has to force senior players out first. i will argue that ødegaard always was this good.. it was just the circumstance that was bad... and another thing is that he seems to have been surrounded by totally disastrous strikers throughout his first years... like when he was in Heerenveen... he created so many chances... 100% chances that totally useless teammates just blew... making his stats extremly underwhelming.... he has not improved... he has finally gotten decent teammates that are kind of up to his standards...
