Very nice video - well put together, good white balance and colour grading. They were nice clips with great encounters too. Really enjoyed it. Well done 👏🏼 👌🏼

Kabir, a question... do you record everything in 60fps and then slow down, or do you use the slow-motion mode in your camera?

Thanks for the question! Unless I’m shooting 120fps and I have to use S&F mode (e.g. canon’s setting for recording a higher frame rate slowed down to a 30p video in camera), I usually will shoot 60fps natively and then slow down in post. It usually doesn’t make a huge difference, but for some cameras you lose audio and potentially quality by recording the ‘slowed down’ version in camera. I also don’t understand why canon forces you to use 30p as the base frame rate for this mode, but all these issues are easy to fix in post. In general, I like to use a mix of real time and slow mo, so recording in real time at higher frame rate is also easier for me to edit with (so I can choose when to use slower motion creatively, rather than the other way around)

    Hello,
incredibly beautiful the video and yes also we have found the house reef as quite fantastic.
Maybe you can remember us, we sat at the neighboring table (michael and sabine).. Waterbungalow 419, March 2021 and you always had your water bottle with the label "Divehard" at the table :-) ... then I approached you and that`s how we get in contact :-)
Many thanks for the video, this is a great reminder for us, we also snorkeled around the island once every day and enjoyed the great Ellaidhoo house reef.
We are not divers but here a big compliment for your videos !!!
Best regards from Germany take care and stay safe Michael and Sabine

Hello! Yes of course we remember you, and thank you very much for the kind words! Ellaidhoo is certainly a very special place and one I won’t forget. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your honeymoon and best wishes from the states!

Great video. The videography and quality of your underwater footage is remarkable! Literally reached out to the resort and dive shop at Ellaidhoo today. Based off your experience is there a time of year to visit for better vis/overall diving at Ellaidhoo?

Thank you! We really appreciate that 🙂My understanding is that Dec - May is the dry season but I’d defer to the shop for visibility. For what it’s worth I’ve always targeted Maldives during this time and the viz has been reliable good with a few bad days. Say hi to the guys at the dive shop for us!
