Judge paves way for Marjorie Taylor Greene to stay on ballot

(CNN) Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the conspiracy theory-peddling Georgia Republican, shouldn't be disqualified over her role in the January 6 insurrection, a judge said Friday in a significant legal blow to the voters and advocacy groups who tried to throw her off the ballot.
State Judge Charles Beaudrot said in a 19-page recommendation that even if it is assumed that the US Capitol riot was an insurrection, "challengers have produced insufficient evidence to show that Rep. Greene 'engaged' in that insurrection after she took the oath of office on January 3, 2021."
The recommendation was submitted to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican, who accepted the decision later on Friday night and formally ruled that Greene will stay on the ballot. The anti-Greene challengers said in a statement that they'll appeal Raffensperger's decision in state courts.
The Republican primary in Georgia is scheduled for May 24.

I literally went to a high school named after one of the people on the plane that flew into the twin towers. Our motto was “Let’s roll”, the last recorded words of the guy before he and some other passengers attempted to regain control of the plane. The fact that a member of CONGRESS debates whether or not this event was even real is disgusting and abhorrent. If AOC’s vapid comments or beliefs are reprehensible, sure we can have that vote whenever. But since this is currently about this lady from Georgia, what can we say about her? Can we agree her behavior and stated beliefs are reprehensible? She wears a mask that says “free speech” but seems to forget what we all know, which is that her right to speak does not also grant her immunity or protection from consequences of that speech.
