  • The South Sudanese refugees are mostly entering through Akobo (Terigole), Pagak and Burbie entry points of Gambella, Ethiopia. As of early May, the three newly established camps of Kule 1, Kule 2/Tierkidi and Leitchore are hosting 51,476, 50,246 and 47,469 refugees respectively, already exceeding their planned maximum capacity. As the fighting continues and the food security situation is worse in South Sudan, the influx is continually crossing the Ethiopian boarder and high refugee arrivals are anticipated-the humanitarian community recently revised upwards its forecast of South Sudanese refugees expected in Ethiopia to 350,000 by the end of 2014.
