Cooking recipe and ingredients:
Chicken hearts - 800 gr
Black pepper, salt - to taste
Dried garlic, nutmeg - to taste
Eggs - 2 pieces
Vegetable fat
flour
Fry for 1-2 minutes on each side
With now I am going to share the recipe for homemade BACON
Chest piece - 1 kg
Salt - 17 g
Nitrite salt - 10 g (if not, then salt - 27 g)
Sugar - 1 tsp
Black pepper - 1 tbsp. L
Nutmeg - 1 tsp
Thyme (or thyme) - 1 tsp
Garlic - 3 cloves
Bay leaf - 3 pieces
Chill for 6 days
Wash spices thoroughly
Place in an oven preheated to 100 ° C for 3 - 3.5 hours

Here in Brazil, chicken hearts are a delicacy. We usually eat in the barbecue, roasted on wood charcoal. We eat so much that, in fact, it is the only meat that we have to import.
On a skewer, coarse salt on top. Nothing much to it.

@@Gearsturfs true! that's the only organ I like. Only well roasted over charcoal. We have many ancestry from Middle East and Japan. And I know that these places like meat on skewers. Maybe the custom came from there? IDK (In Japan, they do eat chicken hearts on skewers. It is called yakitori hatsu).
Many people also came from Portugal, Italy and Germany, but they don't like chicken hearts as far as I am concerned.
I grew up eating chicken hearts and gizzards. One of most favorite meals growing up. My would egg, flour, then fry them. I will have to tenderizing like ypu did.

I don’t really care for gizzards, too much work cleaning them and also chewy. I do enjoy chicken liver. For anemia it is a treat. With lemon and garlic.
I am from Syria, living in Lebanon. Thank you for this wonderful effort. We cook chicken hearts, but we soak them for a whole night with a mixture of yoghurt and a delicious set of spices. Then we take a piece and put it in flour, eggs and flour and fry
That sounds delicious as well. I think her recipe might make the meat more tender as it cooks faster. I am from Brazil and we grill our hearts on skewers. They can also be fried in a pan the same way.
@@MariKehrwald You can try my recipe without passing it to the eggs only after soaking in the yoghurt mixture, then in the flour and then on the grill I am sure you will like it because the method of soaking with flavoring gives any type of meat intense flavors, faster ripening and moisture in the piece
I am from Greece and we also fry them too. My mother did something else she fried onions, then added the chicken hearts and finally tomatoes and seasoning. Your recipe sounds delicious, I will definitely try it.

я думаю, двойная панировка лишняя, одинарной достаточно, особенно если масла много, хотя прогреть сердечки непросто, это я по своему опыту...

Сердечка можно было делать в двойном кляре мука яйцо и панеровочный сухарь было бы тоже не плохо.( Изюм Харьковская обл.)

@@zeusapollo8688 That's such a shame as I LOVE organ meats. Have been eating them all my life. My Grandmother had a crock of pickled pigs heart in the middle of the kitchen table. Everyone could stab one and go out the door eating it. I've just finished a beef tongue. Love it but it was just over a pound. I'm used to 2 to 3 pound tongues. Delish in any case. Thanks

I like to eat chicken but… why the chicken heart?🤢 it’s something that would beat and pump blood throughout the whole body
@@whatyoulookinforlol I think it’s an acquired taste, and very much cultural. In Brazil it is considered an appetizer before a churrasco. It is cooked in the grill and on skewers. I like the flavor of them. It will get too chewy if cooked for too long. I have also put them on skewers and cooked them in a scored iron pan. I like it a lot. Plus here is the US it is very inexpensive. I also like to cook it as a chicken broth, and eat some of them whole. I use dehydrated chopped onions and use chicken bouillon granules. I love it. And my dog loves it as well, she gets them as treats. Actually I started buying them because I read somewhere it was a good way to trick your dog into eating them as pill pockets. But I tried the broth for myself and it was quite tasty. So I do it as a treat for me and my little girl.
