Absolutely Judas Priest! I love how affectionately and respectfully Rob Halford speaks of Lemmy. These are two very different front men who came up across the same decades and always gave everything they had on stage regardless of private struggles. Rob Halford is one of the few legends qualified to stand up in history next to Lemmy.
I think lemmy would be really proud of mikkey and the other guys for still caring for the fans....I grew up with them in their heyday, the early 80's...I always remember getting no sleep 'til hammersmith and it was so fucking good!!!! That album is still one of my favourite albums ever!!! Just fucking wicked !!!!
Wonderful interview! One of my favorite drummers for sure, saw them few years back here in Chicago, wow!!!!!! He’s so nice, musicians I deal with in cover bands seem to be mostly assholes. Didn’t expect it While watching kept seeing him in my mind pointing out to crowd behind kit, could listen to him all day, and have. Now…,. If stopping for air raid sirens didn’t rip your heart out God Bless the brave courageous strong people of Ukraine! CNN showed video of poor people talking inside recording as missile hit. Shaking…… Why? All here must realize crimes against Ukraine, innocent children, thousands, oh my God, thousands of children. 😢 It’s too much sometimes to take, but I think they are so much stronger than any others on this planet!!! GOD PLEASE 🙏🏻 PROTECT UKRAINE! Suddenly music doesn’t matter much Tears falling on my damn phone…😢
The 80s were the best years of my life , Motorhead and Metal in general at its peak . The world now is in a major woke shit storm .. fuck em all i say . Be true .. stay true.
I saw the Scorpions last October at the Forum in LA. I took my 15 year old who was more excited than I was, and I've been a fan since 82! The show was phenomenal. Mikkey definitely Motorized the Scorpions! Rock Believer is one of the best albums in any genre I've heard in a while.
I took my late friend to the Scorpions concert at the Kia Forum in '22. Of the five shows we went to together before he passed, that was his and my favorite. We especially loved Mikkey's old school drum solo!
G diamond in I was at that show at the forum last year off the hook scorpions kicked major balls at that show currently live in LA but grew up in Chicago remember seeing the scorpions at the Aragon ballroom and 77 or 76 love at first and Tours and then animal magnetism following and so on scorpions rule dude Mikkey Dee on drums. Too bad they don’t have Hermon anymore but Mikkey Dee really is a lot better. He’s a lot faster.
I saw one of Lemmy's last shows. Yes, they played their simple songs and slowed them down a bit, but they still kicked ass. Lemmy went out the way he wanted.
What was cool about Lemmy, is that he was against anything like racism and homophobia and sexism, in giving props to women in heavy metal, having black girlfriends and calling racism 'dumb', and taking the piss out of Mickey Dee for not liking some gay guys in a bar enthusing over his long hair, due to Mickey Dee having a problem (at the time) with those who swing the other way. Lemmy was a real one.
Thank you Mikkey Dee.. for releasing new Motorhead material!!! To some of us hardcore fans... Motorhead will never die... But you helping to release unreleased material... Definitely helps keep Lemmy alive... Thank you from the bottom of my heart man
Most of the younger generation wasn’t around when Motörhead and the other metal and rock bands were actually touring and playing for their fans. You don’t get into the music business to really make money if your dedicated to the music, you get into it music for the people who want to hear the music. Music is a gift that shouldn’t be forgotten and any chance to introduce or re-introduce Motörheads music or even other great bands is more important than ever because the younger generation needs to be exposed to those great bands. They need to know what they are missing and hopefully inspire the next generation to keep that kind of music going and not let it fade away.
If there is a little change, well, maybe Mikkey you read this: Back in 199? I saw Motorhead for maybe the tenths time in Germany at Full Force Festival, and I was standing there in the audience with about 80 000 motorhead fans. At the end of the show you threw your stick into the audience. I stood so far back, I didn't even attempt to catch it - something struck my foot, and there was your drumstick. I grabbed it, and it became my most precious possession I got from any concert. Now, 2023, it is literally the center piece of my studio, where I record local bands. My son, now eight years old, started to play drums at the age of five. Can't tell you how often I told him this sticks story, and how often he asked to see another Motorhead video. Thank you for everything, man!
There was something uniquely noble about Lemmy + Motorhead. They were uniquely straight talking and for the music and fans. I recall seeing them, just the once, in some dump of a venue in former East Berlin in c2008? I was more rock/punk etc but respected Lemmy hence curious. Good God. Euro25 tickets, with maybe 800-1000 there. [Weeks later AC/DC playing the Olympic Stadium with cheap seats at Euro100+ and 60k there?(still love 'em tho)]. Lemmy was amazing and not just the music. He made a point of humbly thanking the audience. Of recognising the 'Little guys on the minimum wage who have scrimped+saved to be here, and this is for you'. He repeated it later, it mattered and we all felt it. Then they played for 3+ hours, just solid rock. It was incredible, and Lemmy and the band seemed such simply good honourable people, and madly entertaining rockers. - Could they be relaunched without Lemmy? No, really, MickeyD is right, it couldn't that misunderstands how pivotal he was. Not just the gittar, but the whole ethos of 'serious rock 'n roll' for 'the little guy [too]'. Respect to MickeyD he gets it, respect!
They should play it at Hammersmith if they ever do it. 2025 on Lemmy's birthday would be perfect. I'd like to see them salute Philthy,Fast Eddie and Wurzel as well.
Great interview. Can't believe it's been so long since we lost Lemmy. Still miss him. I've been impressed how Phil and Mickey have respectfully continued the Motörhead legacy and love the Löst Tapes series.
Appreciate this interview so much. Recognition of Motorhead and staying somewhat relevant is a beautiful way to honor Lemmy. Anyone who thinks Lemmy would gaf has their head up their ass and no idea what Lemmy was about. He was never some John Foggerty kind of dude. He'd say fucking go for it.
Mikkey is the only drummer I know of who can play something both "busy" and tasteful. Normally, I think drummers should err on the side of minimal. But Mikkey could handle "busy" drums like a genius.

Such a great interview with Mikkey! He’s a true champion. It’s no surprise that Lemmy said Mikkey is the best drummer in the world! Lemmy isn’t here anymore, but Motörhead is still alive and still the best band of all time!!! 🤘😈🤘
Thats crazy having him in an Interviewd i was on a concert with my parents and we met lemmy afterwards he was like a dad to my Mom he was so drunk but he still tried to give us his best side even tho you knew he was drunk. He was a heart warm person and its sad that ges gone. I wish every good person that is not here anymore that they are at a good place. And i wish the rest of the band the happiest life ever and you too
The definition by Mikkey of Motörhead was right on the point. That made the difference between them and Metallica. They've lost their identity in the 90´s started with the black Album, got worse with each following record and subsequently never really found themselves again. The only reason Metallica still works these days is, because they've kept their identity on stage.
There's a bigger need for Motorhead now. than there was when Lem was alive. Every generation needs a Motorhead experience. Also a statue of Lem in Poland would be just boss!
OK look, Mikkey...dude no true rocker/metal head, punk will forget about Motorhear i promise you! we don't need these "new" releases honest! you have to 23 amazing albums! only thing we'd really really like is 1 boxset containing all the rare songs that is it. Motorhead will forever stay with us and live in our hearts. people of all ages will buy motorhead records forever, just like Nirvana albums for example. for as long as I'm alive I'll have my motorhead patch on my bike jacket and the logo tattooed on me...and of cause Motorhead blasting out every minute i get to play music
Thank you Metal Pilgrim for putting this interview with this nice gentleman, and metal legend, out here. And, so nice to see people still love Lemmy, and respect him....
I think what I would like to see this Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee maybe start a new band together as sort of a tribute act to Motorhead in a way sort of like what other bands have done
@@JOONBUGFILMS YES, finally someone said it. get Paul Inder as lead singer, his voice sounds like a young version of his father, and he could play lemmys original bass and use the murderone amps too. it would be the closed to the real thing.. do summer festivals and play the classic songs to keep the legacy of motorhead alive. i wish this would happen, it would be the best ever..

♠🍀♥ Since Lemmy died I started playing and singing his songs and I'm still doing this every day. After years of research I've built three replicas of "Murder One", "Marsha" and "Killer", it was a long way but now I'm so happy and can't stop playing. If you're interested in Lemmy's bass sound and playing style, check out what I've been up to since the great man left us. We should keep his legacy alive and it's so much fun playing his music as loud as possible. I love Lemmy and I'm so grateful for his sound, his songs and everything else he has done for all of us.I can tell you as a musician, that it's so much fun to get into his music deeper and deeper and for me it's like medicine to hear and to feel this sound and to sing out his lyrics loud. We know that we all have to leave someday, but in Lemmy's case his music will remain as long as we play and feel it. Lemmy always said "don't forget us, we play Rock'n'Roll" and that's what I do every day, no matter what they say. Greetings from Speyer and keep on rocking, don't stop the Lemmy Rock'n'Roll !!! 🎛🎸😲
I saw MH first time with Dio in 96 in NY and they blew my head off. Im a drummer and Mick was unreal. I'm a plumber and have a 19 year old apprentice who now is a Motorhead fan. It will live on and on.. I'm glad new stuff is coming out. Rock On!
MOTORHEAD will live forever just like a bad rash. .But there is no band MOTORHEAD without Lemmy.Motorhead is just as is bandmate says they were a unit together to be reckoned with.I had the privilege of seeing MOTORHEAD several times over the years.MOTORHEA just rocked..Lemme could get his Rickenbacher to hit on all cylinders. His style is unique to MOTOHEADs legacy..."Just because you got the power don't give you the right.."Who gives a shit anyway"
Great interview, Mikkey is a legend - what a great guy ... totally agree with him on cancel culture - nothing has killed music and movies like political correctness, fake inclusion and cancel culture .. Woke musicians are the fakest, most boring dbags .. Long Live Rock and Roll
Motorhead were a part of my life since 1979..The loss of Lemmy broke my spirit and my heart. However we must remember MOTORHEAD. Lemmy Philthy Phil and fast eddie was a super power of Punk Thrash and Metal. Roll on a few years..and changes to the band..Lemm stays as Master of ceremonies..In comes Phil Cambell and another chapter is written..31 years infact. Mickky D replaces one of the best and most original Double bass kickers in Phil Taylor. Mickky according to Lemmy was the best Rock n Roll drummer in the world(23yrs) Fast forward to today..and this stuff now i may be old at 61 but i know that in my period of Metal music cmCirca 1979 i can tell you that MOTORHEAD need no introduction MOTORHEAD need not do all these spin off's As Mickky says here the two last members make Zilch. But.its really for the fans..is it?..Is it really to introduce MOTORHEAD to the new or next generation? Listen,Motorhead music speaks for itself MOTORHEAD need no introduction..for those yet to discover the sounds that gave as good as it gets..let me tell you one thing..whoever you are wherever you come from and however old you are..This was MOTORHEAD and along with Lemmy..They played Rock n Roll.
Motörheads the only band to ever be inked on my skin, they were that good. Im a nobody also so that means something very poetically inspired i would think? Probably nothing, but if I find anything Ill write back. 🤔 And remember, not every object can be humped….. blenders, upside down lawnmowers etc. 😉
Dear old metalheads who already passed their 50s: first - did you know that "mikkey dee" is a synonym for mcdonalds burger restaurant? Hahaha... Ok, lets be serious know. Mikkey speaks directly from my old metal heart. To make long things short: if you cannot laugh about yourself, you are damned. I do not care at all about people, who think your look and insta is the ultimate shit in their hopeless lives - they do not know better. What what we old metalheads do, growing up in this age? Would we ever heard and liked metal? Face yourself, with that question. For example: i hate rap and hiphop an shit. BUT i made my peace with that kind of "music" - i saw once an interview with some well known rapper - but i do not remember his name, i was too stoned, maybe. He simply explained that all young freaks wanted to make music, but the learning of a certain instrument would take way too long - there you have it, the complete and whole explaination of simple music. And millions love it. Metal will never die is true. But 10 years from now, maybe no one will remember what it meant to metal, back in the 80s. Todays heralded as the best metal time ever - whicj is true in a way, but life was shit already then, but we were young and hungry for the new, the outstanding, the rebellious. Like the "kids" of today. Remeber? Our old people also always said that the you are stupid and doing only crap. Did we? With best regards to every single metalhead in this fucking universe!
Motorhead has been cancelled long time ago - in ex-communist Eastern Europe. However they could not stop us. At that time they were calling us also neo-nazi - as they call now all Ukraine. Luckilly this ended in 1989 for us who are further from Mosovia.
Dude, it's been happening in the 21st century, I'm from Syria, not trying to put down your struggle but big countries like Russia and the states and Iran have been spreading war all over the world for all of my life n I'm born in '99
Lemmy Phil and Eddie I miss you guys so much from Motorhead to Bad Magic, Motorhead for Life Hope to catch you for a gig in the skies rock and roll forever!
A long time ago I distinctly recall Lemmy in interview saying he wanted his ashes on a stage somewhere residing most likely on a Marshall stack because he loved the live aspect of music and that genres of music meant nothing to him, it's either Good or Bad, too bad so many sheep can't tell the difference, eh?!?! Haha
I've seen some of MP videos and liked them. But I always had a feeling that I didn't have time for another music channel. But an interview with Mickey Dee? I'm subscribed now!
SERIOUSLY THOUGH I WOULD LOVE FOR THE MOTORHEAD TEAM TO RELEASE UN-RELEASED LIVE STUFF FROM THE EARLY 90s, I HAVE UNOFFICIAL LIVE STUFF WHICH IS BASICALLY OLD BOOTLEGS OF THE 1916-MARCH OR DIE LIVE TOUR BUT MAYBE IT A RECORD COMPANY RIGHTS THING, SEEMS LIKE THE EPIC, SONY ERA IS NEVER RE-RELEASED IN EXPANDED EDITIONS LIKE THE 80s MOTORHEAD STUFF HAS BEEN... UNFORTUNATELY IM NOT BUY THE RE-ISSUE OF BAD MAGIC CUZ IM MORE INTERESTED IN BUYING RE-ISSUED , REMASTERED EXPANDED WITH RARE LIVE SHIT FROM THE 90s MOTORHEAD PERIOD, LIVE STUFF OF LIKE LOVE ME FOREVER, BAD RELIGION, EVEN RARE LIVE SHIT FROM THE MID,LATE 90s MOTORHEAD.... THATS WHAT IM WAITING FOR...
The 80s (and 70s btw) stuff, that had been warmed up on countless complations was only made because and by the greedyness of Bronze Records, Motörhead's old label. Because they owned all the rights on everything Motörhead produced under their contract. Bronze just swamped the market, didn't care about quality, and made money. The band never saw a single dime.
I loved hearing Mikkey say what Motorhead was like when he joined. It's so true. Aside from some obvious exceptions, I think Motorhead didn't get great until Mikkey joined. It became a different band.
Although I definitely love all eras of Motörhead as much, but in different ways since they do sound different, I really see your point and even agree with it. Mikkey gave the band some great "power". Philthy was great too of course, but in a different way since they have unique styles.
@Orlando VENTOR paid $ 45 dollars for an amazing show , Motörhead open , then Ronnie Dio and to finish Bruce and the gang !!! Never again ! Small Arena , 3/4 full , that time the kids were into weird stuff , Limp Biskit , Nickleback, Linkin park , Justin Timberlake ... what a shame !!! 😩😁
Such respect to Motorhead. And from Motorhead. A reunion and tribute would be amazing...from the generation brought up with Overkill and Ace of Spades albums...
Who do you think should be invited to play at that concert?
Definitely! I think Metallica would be first how'd say "yes" to this!

Motorhead rested on their laurels way to much...they never expanded...their music was pretty much like tool...everything sounded the same

MIKKEY DEE fortjener også en speciel stor hyldest… han var jo trods alt… med i Danmarks… vel nok største band nogensinde… SHU•BI•DUA… 😁
METAL PILGRIM… keep up the good work… 🤘👍
Greetings from Denmark ❤
Great work. That, for me, is the best interview you've ever done.
Wow, thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed it!
Still badass it was last real freakin rock band... .. keep it alive all you can bro
Amazing episode, my friend.
Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it!
I fucking love mikkey D!! God bless him and Phil and all of the other good people who are respecting the motorhead legacy.....love eternal to you guys
Read Lemmy's lyrics....
Nice interview, Motörhead rules !
Seen Scorps just once but on first tour with Mikkey - monster drummer, epic solo, perfect fit
Absolutely amazing interview 👏
Well said Mikkey. Keeping the Motorhead legacy alive is a wonderful thing. Long live Motorhead!
Brilliant stuff… I,m exiteing for whats coming… Great intervju, so thanks alot both guys! Mötorhead for ever!
Awesome drummer! Especially in Motörhead. Don't care much for the Scorpions. But Mickey Dee is a great guy.
Didnt know your from Ukraine, dude. The channel ir awasome. Much respect from Brazil!
Dude, it's been happening in the 21st century, I'm from Syria, not trying to put down your struggle but big countries like Russia and the states and Iran have been spreading war all over the world for all of my life n I'm born in '99
Lemmy Phil and Eddie I miss you guys so much from Motorhead to Bad Magic, Motorhead for Life
Hope to catch you for a gig in the skies rock and roll forever!
Abbath should play with Mikkey Dee and Phil Campbell as tribute for Lemmy
A long time ago I distinctly recall Lemmy in interview saying he wanted his ashes on a stage somewhere residing most likely on a Marshall stack because he loved the live aspect of music and that genres of music meant nothing to him, it's either Good or Bad, too bad so many sheep can't tell the difference, eh?!?! Haha
Cool interview , mikkey’s always one of a kind…. Last section really saddened me… a huge good luci man, keep it up best way you can
Mickey is one of the great rock drummers. He redefined Motörhead and made them one of the most thunderous and tight live bands in existence.
Guy I worked with went to see Boy George in a Motorhead shirt. Boy George stopped the show and called him on it. Everything was fine
lemmy is alive and well in rob cambell from motorheadache uk . watch and bring back the feeling motorhead lives forever
Never forget. Just fast hard. Had there own sound. Not many even close to that. Why not let it go. People want it.
Make a new band and call it MOTORBLOCK, without the head.
вітаю з можливістю поговорити з легендарним тіпом!
Dee Campbell and to honor lemmy the greatest front man in history is his biggest fan to sing is tom angelripper from Sodom
No ones the band wen started mettallica judus black sab. But yer love em all.
What a great guy. Lemmy would be proud to have known you.
Yer mikee dam right. Not all bout money. But cheers
and Lemmy lived in the worst state for cancel culture.
There is no Motörhead reunion…..ever. Tribute sure, but never a reunion
I've seen some of MP videos and liked them. But I always had a feeling that I didn't have time for another music channel. But an interview with Mickey Dee? I'm subscribed now!
Thank you!
An young fullas dont know how good they were long time ago.
❤❤❤
I loved hearing Mikkey say what Motorhead was like when he joined. It's so true. Aside from some obvious exceptions, I think Motorhead didn't get great until Mikkey joined. It became a different band.
@@SillySongs4Everyone2001 nope I wasn't kidding, but I'm not here to argue about it
Although I definitely love all eras of Motörhead as much, but in different ways since they do sound different, I really see your point and even agree with it. Mikkey gave the band some great "power". Philthy was great too of course, but in a different way since they have unique styles.
@@voodoochile6796
Eddie Clarke made them bluesy
Mikkey Dee made them Metal
2 very different versions of Lemmy's band
We are blessed as fans for it too
Saw them in Worcester, Massachusetts back in 2002/2003 , Motörhead , Dio and Iron Maiden
... best concert ever !!! ✨️👌
Man!!! Did that really happen or did you just dream about it? Those 3 bands in the same concert!? Now,that's a night out!!! Lucky bastard...
Motorhead is a metal band who will never die
\m/ Lenmy \m/
motorhead is not metal and is pure rock n roll band
Think they have earnt it. Yer a new lemmi be to much
Such respect to Motorhead. And from Motorhead. A reunion and tribute would be amazing...from the generation brought up with Overkill and Ace of Spades albums...
And wasent just him. All great!
