Here's a Remake of a MD-11 Takeoff I filmed at Princess Juliana in 2011. (the original video isn't working anymore)
I'm very happy to say that I'm going back to St Maarten later this winter (5th - 20th of Dec)
I hope you're exited to see what kind of crazy videos I'll get this time ;) Of coarse please leave me a request if there's anything in particular you would like to see = )
Don't forget to guess the sound at the end ;) I'll be giving away a price to the 3 best aircraft sound guessers at the end of 2013. it'll be a spotting DVD or something like that. Good Luck everybody!!!

God damn that is one gorgeous aircraft. Hats off to KLM as the only passenger airline to fly the beloved trijet for a full 20 years of service.
I didn't know God had a last name.
JAT(Yugoslav airlines) flew DC 10,28 years of service.1978-2006.
In an age when all planes pretty much look the same, these tri-jets were beautiful.
CRJ's? ERJ's?
@Micah Lall-Trail nope, they were all used together.
Same with the T tail aircrafts like the md-80s
My favorite aircraft to this day👍
*Yes*
Most beautiful airliners ever, the MD11 and the DC10. Those big triple engine monsters still look like something from a sci-fi movie to this day. The sight of them taking off from the rear is a beauty to behold.
Dude they are the same their nickname is md11 its really the dc 10
@@guillerminacordova8441 oh ok!!
@@murrayent1able Except the MD-11 is longer, has upgraded engines and avionics, no flight engineer, etc.
Remember the tristar
@@guillerminacordova8441 'md-11' is not a nickname. the md-11 was a revamped design based from its dc-10 predecessor.
I love the ATC(Air Traffic Control) transmissions between the pilot and the tower right before takeoff. Great stuff!
Sadly PH-KCB has been recently retired. Beauty of a bird.
agreed
😗😗😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
I looked it up on Flightradar24 and it was stripped
In the interest of passenger comfort, most airlines use only a limited amout of the performance their equipment is capable of. The MD-11 is surely capable of this beautiful climbout and a lot more if needed.
I saw a Finnair MD-11 leave on the delivery
flight. FULL of fuel.4 or 5 people on board,
and a BRAND NEW IROC Camaro in one of
the cargo holds. It is typical to "wiggle the
wings, on a delivery flight, but this pilot put
on a GREAT show. 45 degrees in each
direction, AND about a 45 degree climbout!
I was at home, just off the flight path, at Long
Beach. (I could hear the rivet guns at night.)
I had a GREAT view of most delivery flights,
and that one was the BEST!
steve
Climbs like the proverbial homesick angel. 757s are pretty good at it too. I saw somewhere on this site that 757s are ridiculously overpowered. There's a vid around here somewhere of a New Zealand Air Force 757 doing a beauty climbout.
I love the MD 11 or DC 10 far more than the 777.
In addition, the KLM livery looks so beautiful on it.
Beautiful KLM MD-11 footage, should be cherished! Thanks for this amazing re-upload, mate!
00:49 I love how the jet engine in the tail looks about 4 times larger than ones on the wings.
MD-11 is beautiful :)
Jack1981 yea it keeps reminding me of a DC 10 my favorite looking plane ever
kiribetio123 I had no idea passenger verions still flew in 2013
I agree, but then I'm prejudiced.
I helped build them.
steve
Another exquisite work by pilotdynan!
Wonderful video! I love the MD-11 and KLM has my favourite livery :)
I flew with this machine from Frankfurt, Germany to Baltimore in May 1988, still remember the nice talking to all of the really nice looking stewardess from USA, that was my first impression to America as a tourist, and thanks, I loved it!!
awesome remake man!! thanks for the upload
MD-11 is such a beauty
GOD The MD-11 Is such a sexy beast!!!! Good news is that PH-KCB Is still flying today!
SHHHH
***** The last scheduled flights are October 25th (KL692 YYZ-AMS dep. 1735 arr, 0645+1 and KL672 YUL-AMS dep 1900 arr. 0735+1). And KLM flies three farewell flights on 11/11 to celebrate the MD-11, and luckily I´m on the very last one (KL9899) :D
Not flying anymore :(
Not enjoyed good over three head speed before late?
O.M.G.!!!.Why I still love this beautiful bird so much???.
Tri-jet forever! great shot.
MD-11 and DC- 10 some of the best planes ...beautiful airliners
+gacj2010 The DC-10 has the worst safety record of any commercial aircraft in history. It's been involved in 54 accidents, 32 of which were hull losses, resulting in the deaths of over 1000 people. It also killed the Concorde, debris from one of its faulty engines was sucked up by the concorde on the tarmac, resulting in the fatal crash at Charles De Gaulle Airport.
+Karmagician "The DC-10 has the worst safety record of any commercial aircraft in history" that's a little bit exaggeration there. Statistically, DC-10 is no different to early Boeing 747 and fared better than Fokker F-27, Embraer 110 and MD-11. MD-11 was notorious with a number landing crashes (forget Swissair 111) blamed on center of gravity and smallish elevator.
Love your videos!
Great vid, must be such a awesome feeling to climb up that fast! Love the sound aswell.
Beautiful bird!!!.My favorite airplane from all time.Magnificent!!!!.
Sweet vid, man! I luv the MD-11! Liked! :D
That's a thing of beauty right there!
The most beautiful aircraft in the world ♥ MD11 !!! I love it :).
Like someone said elsewhere, these MD-11 smoky three holers are beautiful.
Absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! Just spectacular!!!
Sound is definitely the AA 757 ;)
Magnifique!!!✈
Those MD11 were kick ass!
awesome video man!!
The American 757 is the engine noise! Another great video from you. Thanks so much!
Yes that's right = ) Good job!
And good luck again in the new video I uploaded 10sec ago ;) you might have the chance to win this time!!
very nice .i love MD-11
this vid will be so much worth in some years :D
Beautiful!!! That's so incredible that it only took about 23 seconds til the front wheel came off the ground. .WOW!!!! Thanx for the re-upload cuz I must have missed this one! Can't wait to see the rest!
I hope you are enjoying (or enjoyed ) your return trip to that beautiful island!!!! And I can't wait to see your new footage!!! Thanx again~
The reason why this plane can to/climb this fast is because it is light on fuel. After the St.Maarten stop it continues to Aruba, from there it flies back to Amsterdam...
Pietje Puk Ah, ok. Thanks for those tidbits of info. I am just so intrigued and in awe of man made flight, I get so excited when watching planes. It's one of those things that has been known to give me 'goosies' ! Thanks again. ;)
Beautiful!
omg.... awesome! always amazing to see an airplane going up so steeply! nice footage too.
Goodbye passenger MD-11, we'll miss you. Your legacy will continue with FedEx and UPS.
and Lufthansa
Why, was that the last flight from klm to St. Thomas 🤔
one thing i loved about DC 10 was this take of hard :)
Pure Awesomeness!! :))
WOW, great Video mate!
amazing takeoff like rocket
Cool MD-11 miss these liners
757 with the GEnX engines. LOVE the MD-11 too.... especially with the Pratt and Whitneys. What a gorgeous airplane...
hi pilot dynan i would like more videos of princess juliana. you have done a great job on all this videos. thanks for all of that :)
Amazing video!! really nice job man! :) I'm guessing the 757! :) Liked!
What a beautiful piece of machinery.
What a beautiful airliner, esp in the previous (legacy) AA polished aluminum & striped livery
amazing md-11
Thanks so much for the video ;) love the MD's
Watched this video a few times the nose of those are so much nicer than Boeings i think
Both the DC10 and the MD11 are personal favourites, travelled on them both, UTA French Airlines DC10 also Continental Airlines, and the MD11 wilth Philippine Airlines to Australia.
Great video as usual.
Wonderful!
Ahh I've seen this baby live in action! Was so lucky to be able to see it come in.
Beautiful
Awesome footage with an even more awesome spotting position. Liked ALLOT and SUBBED.
Wow superb video PilotDynan ! I really do love the look of the MD-11's and its a real shame they will be retiring soon:( Thanks for sharing: Sound: 757-200
Awesome shot of the MD-11! I think the sound is the 757. :)
You can sound like an air traffic controller if you cup your hands and say "dee dow dau dee six one dow ding bang wong G'Day"
Thats hilarious!!
I tried it and it worked great
And make a clicking noise at the end to stop radio communication.
LMAO to all of you!
i love st. maarten, i have to visit that beautiful place one day!
That place is on my bucket list. I believe the sound to be the 757, travelled in them many times, I recognise the buzz.
Perfect! This sound is from the B757 with RR engines RR RB211
Awesome!! liked!
I'm 100% sure that this flight flew via Bonaire. I've got the ATC ;)
The KLM 747 flew home via Curacao and the MD-11 flew home via Bonaire.
Thanks! I'm glad you like my work = ) And yes the sound at the end is from the 757. Congrats! You just got your first point in the competition for a Plane-Spotting DVD. Good luck again next Wednesday = )
Hi pilotdynan,
I was just wondering, what's the hotel that's on the north side of Maho Beach called? Did you film this video from there?
Thanks :)
Finally!!! It's been a while since I got one ;)
I remember KLM MD-11s on the flight ramp in Long Beach waiting for delivery in the early 90s. FED-EX is retiring some MD-10 aircraft and replacing them with B-767s but no MD-11 retirements.
Oh, ok! Thanks :)
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it = ) And yes the sound at the end is from a 757. Congrats! that's another point in the competition. Good luck again next Wednesday = )
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it = ) Lets hope I get some more nice shots when I'm going back in December.

Yes it sure is = ) Good job! and congrats to your first point in the competition = ) Good luck again next Wednesday!
I was very lucky to get a summer job with McDonnell Douglas in 1973 at the St Louis airport. Although my job involved working with the very first blocks of what was then the new F-15 fighter, the original prototype DC-10 made several visits and test flights from St Louis. At the time, McDonnell was even still building brand new F-4 Phantoms.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it = ) and yes the sound at the end is from a 757. Congrats. You just got another point in the competition = ) Good luck again next Wednesday!
wow man BIG Like my favourite plane
Please note that the sound is from one of the 3 pictures under the "Guess Aircraft Sound" sign. Better luck next Wednesday = ) (or are you requesting a video of the 777?)
Sorry the sound at the end is from the slightly larger Boeing to the left. (Please note that the sound is always from one of the 3 pictures under the "Guess Aircraft Sound" sign) Better luck next Wednesday = )
Yes the sound at the end is from the 757 = ) Congrats! you just got your first point in the competition for a Plane-Spotting DVD. Good luck again next Wednesday! = )
Got my sub!
I worked at Transiplex at the North end of the runway at SEA. The MD-11s hands down had the highest lift surfaces of anything that I saw fly out. Those aircraft couldn't WAIT to be rid of the airport!
WOW (period)
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it = ) However the sound at the end is from the slightly larger Boeing. Better luck next Wednesday! = )
Thanks! and yes the sound at the end is from the 757. Congrats! you just got another point in the competition. Good luck again next Wednesday = )
I flew on a new DC-10 predecessor of the MD-11 in 1977 on a short haul trip (25 minutes) from Vancouver to Seattle to board a much older 1960's era Boeing 727 for the remaining trip to Los Angeles CA. The interior was very nice compared to the more musty, crammed 727, however a year 1/2 later in 1979, after the notorious photo of an engineless DC-10 plunging downward and the following scandal involving the planes faulty engine mounts. ending the once legendary DC series of airliners.
Wrong.
Yeah kinda my fave airline ever.... KLM... Thanks So Much....
Sorry the sound at the end is from a slightly smaller Boeing. Please note that the sound is from one of the 3 pictures under the "Guess Aircraft Sound" sign. Better luck next Wednesday = )
✈ Super videos ✈
Nice Video
Nice! The sound is the 757 with RB-211 engines :)
Very Nice video again :)
I think it is an B757-200 with RR Engines at the End!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it = ) And yes the sound at the end sure is from a 757 = ) Congrats! you just got another point in the competition. Good luck again next Wednesday! = )

Thanks! Yes I won't get the MD-11 when I'm going back to St Maarten in December, they don't fly with them anymore :-\ it sure is sad :-\ But I'm glad to say that you are right on the "Guess Aircraft Sound" = ) Congrats! you just got another 2 points at the competition. Good luck again next Wednesday = )
