    Hi John.
Perhaps after four years of trying to serve, I've reached my Malcolm Gladwell Outliers moment. More likely, your serve videos have made their mark on me more profoundly than those of other channels. The Complete Beginner Tennis Serve Lesson Start to Finish which you posted recently helped me learn about rhythm, pacing myself and balance. I've been practicing a routine and the throwing motion for two weeks, but rarely serving balls, hoping to burn in neural/muscle memory. Paraphrasing Timothy Gallwey in the Inner Game of Tennis, I am "letting myself learn"
    Cheers, Jeff.

Hi John. I have been watching your videos on serve technique and I find them very useful, thank you. I have a problem though; after a good toss, non dominant arm staying up following the ball, I still have an old habit of throwing my shoulder to early up and turning towards the net; this reduces racket drop and makes me face the net ; it also makes it very difficult to pronate and get power. My videos reveal that I also tend to move my left leg backwards ( I am right handed) when I hit the ball as if I have to rotate the whole body. How can block this? I value your advice. Jan Peter

Hi Jan, I am pleased to know my lessons are helpful to you! Thank you for reaching out with your question and presenting the challenges with your serve. There could be any number of factors here. I would need to see your serve to provide responsible, valuable guidance. If you would like me to review your serve, here is the link to my video analysis program: performanceplustennis.com/performance-plus-serve-stroke-video-analysis-description/. Please take a look and let me know if you have questions. Thanks, John

Agreed. I think Stan Wawrinka could use your serve coaching. His down together up together serve seems to struggle in modern game. See 2023 US Open Stan vs Sinner. ;)

Stan has a pretty good serve despite his unique style...it has been a weapon at times, and at times been a shaky. Thanks for comments and contribution to the video! Best, John

In Trophy position, where should the hitting side of strings face? Right Side of fence ( for a right hander) or to the target? Or elsewhere?

Thanks for the great question! Ideally the strings will face down or to the right. Anywhere in between is perfectly acceptable, and within the range of correctness. Thanks, John

How about body stays sideways? Is it also a myth or it has merit to it? What is the benefit of staying sideways? Thanks

Hi Jack, I am guessing that you are referring to the recent "Crush it" Serve promotion where the Coach says you stay sideways at contact? The answer is no, and I am filming a video to address this today. Best, John

@@PerformancePlusTennisthanks. When I look at some of Federer’s serve it does seem to be he stays sideways. But I’m wondering if it’s for all serves or only certain serve. Will be looking forward to your video 🙏🎾

HI Jack, Federer stays a slightly more sideways on the topspin / kick serves. I filmed the video yesterday. It will be released next week. Best, John@@bournejason66
