Yep, Tommys up there in his late 60's as of this showing. This guy is thermonuclear. And he actually started his pro career, with his amazing high energy drumming and showmanship, in a southern heavy rock band called Black Oak Arkansas. His high energy drum solo was called "Up", and he still uses many of the patterns today. Tommy was also the first ( rock ) drummer to utilize double bass drumming to its full extent. Others touched on it, but Tommy really exposed the full range of its capabilities. Louie Belson was the first to ever use 2 bass drums.
Tommy began his pro career with Black Oak Arkansas ( known mainly for their expolsive live concerts ) then moved on to perform with Ozzy Osborne, Pat Travers, Thin Lizzy, and Whitesnake. As far as my favorite drummer ? Tommy Aldridge without a doubt !
