I remember watching Lambert when I was a kid. I cried on the part when none of the baby sheep picked Lambert's mom. It was awesome of Lambert to pick her even though he isn't a sheep. Awesome story of love, courage, and acceptance.
I saw this cartoon in 1994 i was in school. Today it took me 30 years back. How beautiful my childhood was , no mobile, no internet, life was full of fun and friends.
+MiniMedlyExactly! A wolf would have left if he was THAT big! Unless he was full of himself... REALLY REALLY REALLY full of himself. Okay forget that idea.
Let this be a lesson to everyone. Never mess with a Mama, especially if her children are bigger than you. That's the best way to have your butt handed to you on a silver platter.
My 6 year old grandson saw this for the first time tonight on NetFlix. When the wolf went off the cliff with that signature cry he said "Grandpa says that!" He's right. I do it playing with the boys and have ever since I was a little kid myself. Fun times.
This was a nice companion to Dumbo when that movie aired on NBC back in the '80s. Not only does the Stork appear in both, but there are similar themes in both as well. I wish there were a stuffed toy of Lambert in cub form!
+Christopher Bubb I can't believe someone else remembers that. I had that recorded on VHS along with Mickey and the Beanstalk! My memories of that airing are tied to Christmas for some reason. Great memories of watching that tape over and over...
+michaeloffgrid Yes! YES! I was trying to remember what the other short was that they showed, and it was Mickey and the Beanstalk. And of course Sterling Holloway (the voice of the stork) was the narrator. I also had it taped off television and watched it over and over. Interestingly ABC Family showed Dumbo a couple of weeks ago and of course I DVRd it, but without Lambert the Sheepish Lion and Mickey and the Beanstalk airing before it, it seemed like something was missing.

love this cartoon! shit for some odd reason I tear with excitement up every time just before lambert starts to snap and turn into a beast for fear of his mother.
a few points; A lion is adopted by the sheep There's probably a Lamb/Sheep in Africa running with a pride of Lions Now that Lambert's predatory instincts are awakened, what'll happen Next?
Sterling Holloway was supplying his voice to dozens of popular Disney animations. You should look him up. You might recognize just about everything he's done. Also Winnie the Pooh.
Holloway started in Hollywood as a straight actor and can be seen in a number of films from the early '30's...until he found a better gig at Disney. Never forget him as the Cheshire Cat in Disney's Alice.
+OtterPops123 I guess the wolf must have eaten Goofy alive before the wolf saw the pack of sheep and Goofy didn't digest yet. I have even heard Donald Duck do the same scream as Goofy on a Chip And Dale cartoon.
If the inspection discovered that stork didn't deliver the Lambert to his mother - for not doing his job, he'd be fired. His mother probably cries for him, thanks to the stork who failed to complete the task given to him. And in fact same stork appeared in Dumbo with different appearance.

Thank you to the people who made classics like this too. I love you mom :')
Omg no kidding! i have SOOOO mutch memories at this. I always was so scared of the wolf, and i always felt so sorry for Lambert when they laughed at him. My god this is one of my favourite memories of my childhood. Thank you Walt Disney
This was one of the first things I had ever watched on a TV, we had a vhs with willie the operatic whale and lambert the sheepish lion and one more with a bull, I remember being amazed by the how the box TV worked :') oh childhood.
The other day I had a flashback of this cartoon in my head because of something I saw. I'm glad I found it here. Thanks for posting this. It brings back great memories!
Let us not forget!!! That somewhere in a pride land in Africa a little lamb was eaten. I really do not think that the lions were as nice to him or her as the lambs were to Lambert.
If somebody would've bet me this was only 8 min long I would've lost my shirt...I swear I don't remember it being this short. Wow tv was so much better back then
I can't remember when the stork made a mix up for Dumbo. The only things I could remember is that the stork delivered Dumbo to Ms. Jumbo, then he made two rhyming poems to Ms. Jumbo regarding Dumbo, then he made Ms. Jumbo sign for Dumbo, and the last thing was that he sang Happy Birthday for Dumbo (which was part of the rule at the company which he mentioned). Regarding Lambert here, it's unknown how Lambert got into the sack with the other lambs whether he snuck into the sack as it was being packed up or if there were two groups with one group with lambs and the other group with lions where the stork or his boss accidentally put Lambert into the sack of lambs. However, he did try to correct the mistake from 2:07-2:48 but, the sheep wasn't letting him take Lambert away. So who knows, maybe the stork told his boss about the mistake and his boss could have told him that they should let it go if the sheep wasn't going to let them take Lambert away. Also, maybe that lamb that was supposed to go to that sheep with the bell got misdelivered to the lions where Lambert was supposed to go and hopefully that lamb didn't get eaten by the lions. (But yes, if the stork wasn't being careful for making too many misdeliveries as you mentioned, he should be fired).
***** : You have given this WAY too much thought. There was just a mix-up, which was the basis for the story and led to this charming, simple cartoon. The end.
