Thank you. I had a windows startup stuck problem. I just removed CMOS battery after starting the computer. and stuck problem at startup is resolved. CMOS is reset.

hi! I am planning the same upgrade on ram(just add a 4gb though) and the same SSD you mentioned. Did you have any problems with the 7mm sansumg SSD? Because the one already installed is 9.5 mm. Thanks
hmmm actually when i installed the ssd, the thickness i s just the same as the original hdd. i bought the 840evo Laptop Kit www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B00E5YOSF0/ref=oh_details_o08_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
because it comes with a spacer and a usb3 sata connector for cloning my OS.
I also uploaded a video on how fast it became! 1minute i was able to boot up, restart, then boot up again!

Is it possible to replace the HDD+HSSD for an SSD (Crucial M500) right away? Iam planning on upgrading and installing windows 7 from the moment I start with the laptop. Thank you.
Very helpful video, I have Lenovo G510 laptop, bought in 2013 from reliance digital store which came with one year onsite warranty from lenovo and also had purchased additional warranty from reliance digital store and it has expired too.
Well the problem is that the left speaker isn't working, not sure but i guess there might be some disconnection type of thing as once i heard a voice from that particular area when moved the laptop in like c-saw direction.
I want to know how get an access of speaker area to replace them or to check the connections.

sir my laptop lenovo G500 has 2 GB ram in one slot and the other is empty. i want to know if i install another RAM of 2GB in the other slot would i be able to use all 4GB RAM togetherly. and is there any specifications like pin configuration or number of pins for RAM to be installed in empty slot of my laptop
Let me help you, you must find your RAM speed so that if you are trying to buy a new ram it is compatible.

Is it possible to add a discrete graphics card to this machine? That would make it a great budget gaming machine! with all of the questions regarding this I'm surprised that none of the manufacturers have risen to accommodate the market.
You can buy a G510 which comes inbuilt with a discrete graphics card, Adding a graphics card to a laptop is not possible.

The issue is aa the things are okay except that sometime old hdd in caddy show on PC partitions and online in disk management as well but sometimes it disappear from both sides.

This may be a silly question, but would it also be possible to upgrade the processor? Because I have the same laptop, but mine only has an Intel Celeron 1005M / 1.9 GHz. and I really need to get it to at least Intel core i3 or something like that if at all possible? -- Good tutorial btw! :D

hmm ... then I might have to buy a new one with better specs, cause I need a minimum of an Intel core i3 processor, 6 gb of ram and a 7200 rpm harddisk with at least 200 gb ... and I only have an Intel celeron 1005 processor, 4gb of ram and a 5400 rpm harddisk ...so time for an upgrade! ;D

It's a M series processor. So yes, it's supposed to be socketed.
Anything in this line of Lenovo laptops should work and technically you can stick an i7 in it (But cooling may become a problem)
Just look at what CPU the most expensive model of your laptop has, pluck it off ebay and stick it in.

i have the same laptop with windows 10 and i changed the ram position from slot1 to slot2 so when i tried to boot i could not only black screen and when i replaced the ram to the initial slot all good .....so the problem is the second slot has deferent frequency or the windows some how lock the slot?
