Finally an anime game that's not a gatcha game or a terrible arena fighter I've been waiting for an action rpg licensed game for years, definitely getting this one
Yeah i would definetely play this game in 2005 for how the game is because this look like a ps2 game. Not to shame it but it is one of the random games that you would play in the ps2 era game
I'm having fun with it. it is very grindy though. I agree, get it on sale for $20-30. There is at times certain in game cutscenes where the Animation looks really nice "not the chibi style" Example - When you get to the Orc Disaster you'll see, in game cutscenes like that are pretty cool. As a massive fan of Slime I'm enjoying it. This game is getting a lot of mixed attention which is a shame because it's actually pretty good. much better than the recent Mushoku Tensei dungeon crawler game. There's new features "not shown or reviewed in this video" that I'm discovering the longer I play.. Example - unlocking "new" skills that evolve/change over the course of the story, a buddy/affection system where Rimuru can learn new skills from companions once affection is 100%
This looked like shite when they were advertising it imo but I’m actually genuinely happy with what they put out! I’m not a 2d sidescroller platformer type of gamer but I’m happy with this! I’ll still pick it up but they’re high af for charging $50 for this
im in chapter 2 and not one freaking crash yet is all ill this is more than enough to get the awful taste outta my mouth that was that mobile trash sure it was free but at least this is playable and doesnt crash every other freaking stage i would rather pay for a working game than play one that does more crashing than playing lol graphics dont matter to me and so far the game is fun enough that its worth the 80 bucks i spent
judging from what ive seen on the video, it does take inspiration from the tales formula (like the skits), however, its a far cry from its quality standards. which is a shame. the tales franchise is one of the best game series in existence, and thats not a exaggeration. compare this to something like tales of symphonia and you will see all the short comings. And symphonia is an old clunky game.
I would call this video more a "first impressions" rather than review, is looks decent, i know you said you don´t do much reviews it was entertaining and good overall entertaining video my suggestion is break it into different sections, like introduction, artstyle, gameplay, difficulty, conslusion but thats maybe just how i like my reviews, if you ever gonna do reviews i would like seeing you plays souls series and maybe rage a bit i think i´d enjoy that
I'm still debating if i should buy it or wait, as i wanted to play one of the older "Tales of" games again and the combat reminds me a lot of that. Heck, even the chibi overwold characters remind me a bit of Tales of Legendia. The combat in general sems to be a mix of old "Tales of" combat with side scoller beat'em ups. The voice over cut scenes also remind me a lot of the "Tales Of"-Games as they use a very similar style to this as well. Tales Of Symphonia Dawn of a new World uses the exact same style. I'm low key wondering if they wanted to make a "Tales of" Game and just slapped Rimuru on it.
This looks like it could be good companion game to gatcha game. I think they chose low graphics because the game was build for nintendo switch and later ported to other platforms.

@@Julis707 sorry for the passive aggressive tone, sega's decision on game design when making sonic superstar pissed me off when Nier Automata on the Nintendo Swtich runs without any issues has given me a new perspective that maybe it isn't the console but the developer.

It just depends on the budget and time given to the project. Generally speaking most projects choose to set "weakest link" as a baseline for the games. Because it usually takes less time to upgrade a program if needed. Think of it as a jenga tower, easier to add a block than to remove a block. That's why most mobile games are very simple, the oldest phones has to run it even though many newest flagships can handle so much more. This is also probably one of the reasons why slime isekai doesn't have as many downloads even though it's really close to anime in style and series has lots of fans. That being said, every project is different and the real reason in this case could be something else.
I can't change skills on pc. I've tried to push all possible keys but noting. Someone know how to change skills? I need to change one for a quest involving Ranga and i'm stuck.
I was sleeping sadly too early the stream for me so i watched like 2h of the stream to support, as for the game def not worth the price our gacha game is way better and free at that. If this game was released back in 2000 maybe i would say yeah worth to try for like 5-10$ at most but now it feels like a waste of time and money.
