It doesn’t take long to figure out Hollywood’s production trends. If some book, game, or even meme becomes unreasonably popular there’s a good chance some executive is going to try and make a show or movie out of it. So it makes sense that an Among Us movie or series on Netflix would give even the most internet savvy fan pause.
First released in 2018, the indie game surged in popularity this year. Set in space, each player in the social game is given one of two roles. They can either be a Crewmate, whose job it is to repair the ship and identify the Imposters, or they can be an Imposter, a character whose sole mission is to kill as many Crewmates as possible. Because it’s entirely dependent on the choices of the friends playing, no two games can ever be exactly the same.
Over the years Netflix has made live-action versions of many beloved manga properties. Death Note, FullMetal Alchemist, and Bleach have all received the Netflix treatment. And as a general rule those adaptations have been not great, inspiring the “Manga, Anime, Netflix” meme. Since Among Us is also something beloved by the internet, it’s fair game for the Netflix Adaptation meme.
Once the Among Us movie jokes started coming in it wasn’t long before they evolved. A lot of Twitter users have either shared the movie poster for John Carpenter’s The Thing, claiming that it’s the Among Us movie poster, or have claimed that The Thing really is Among Us.
In other Among Us news; Fortnite is no stranger to collaboration. Innersloth and Epic Games finally appear to have buried the hatchet as two new Among Us features are coming to Fortnite.

@@aideen2926 it is simply called "The Thing". Released in 1982 and directed by famous horror director and composer, John Carpenter.
This plot structure is overused in movies and theaters in my opinion its actually crazy it took them so long to make a game like among us

Many of the ideas from AmongUs are inspired by the movie "Alien." They are the ones who made popular this idea of aliens inside a spaceship sabotaging crew members. Aliens moving through vents and a xenomorph death animation, I think, support this!!
Made popular and origin are not the same thing... just so you know alien had a bigger budget than many movies/books before alien with the same idea.
