- Complete coverage of the Women's Elephant Bar Deadlift, Event 3 from the inaugural Arnold Strongwoman Classic in Columbus, Ohio (March 4, 2023). All weekend, the women are taking on the same challenges as the male competitors. With this event, each athlete has 3 attempts to establish a max weight (inside a 60 second time cap). The Elephant Bar challenge also doubles as a Rogue Record Breakers event.
Deadlift record holder Tamara Walcott entered this event as the odds on favorite, but challengers Andrea Thompson and Victoria Long joined her in showcasing just how far the women's Strongman ranks have come, as history was in the making.

The men aren’t competing against the women. They both go in the same events on the same days. Loz and Jerry were just referring to numbers that the men, and they did themselves. They are both former strongman competitors.

Walcott did not lock that dead lift out by a long shot. Just because Tamara did not use straps, doesn't matter; you don’t get brownie points for not using straps! She did not complete the lift! She was still was yanking the weight at the top, her hips weren’t locked in and the shoulders were forward. Thats too bad they gave it to her anyway. On the other hand Victoria Long did the thing like a beast! Overall there were some impressive ladies lifting.

Is the bar not 30kg? I don't know how the weight on the bar equals to what they say unless the bar is 60 kg
From what I’ve heard, the bar is 34 kg/75 pounds. I’m not sure though, because that would make the super thin metal plates more than 5 kg each (and they don’t look like they weigh that much more).

My husband back in Sydney Australia was a bodybuilder he competed against Lee priest back in the day he also did heavy lifting to ad more mass his best ever deadlier was 600lbs these amazing ladies are doing the ssme

Find it a bit ridiculous the athletes have to cover any equipment brand names that aren't screaming Rogue in your face.
Gotta see it that way. The public gets free strongman content, in exchange rogue gets exposure. That's sort of the current currency and in my opinion a fair trade-off.

@@quelandil5738 That's fair. I just won't buy their product either way. Overpriced. I buy Cerberus gear. It's a bit cheaper for the same quality if not better in my opinion. Again, that's just my opinion. I know Rogue makes some good gear as well.
@Quel'Andil Rogue is doing a great job but their equipment is overpriced for what it is, I use gear that is cheaper and does exactly the same job as its meant to do. All your paying for is the name that's it nothing more I use Mirafit equipment at my mates gym which belong to him and he has said why bother buying expensive overpriced equipment when everything Mirafit has does the same job you need it to. Rogues comps are great but I also find them extremely boring at times

Insanely impressive lifts but half these competitors are literally turning into dudes from the crazy amount of PED usage. I dont think theres enough money in this type of competition to make it worth it.
The acromegaly is definitely noticeable. Remember Kim Chizevsky? Chyna? They both had that look. But once they get off the gear they get their normal look back.

So it's hard to argue she was bad at it, but this might be the wakeup call she needed to change to straps now, unless she does powerlifting a lot.
I understand doing what you think you're going to be strongest with but when you know you're going to have the frame carry as well I don't understand not learning straps

No, they use the IOC standards which allows a transitioned male to compete as a female with a limit on testosterone, which anyone with any sense knows is only one piece of the puzzle. Going through puberty as a male has tremendous benefits.
