  • It doesn't matter if its you first town on easy mode or your last on realistic mode no matter what you going to need to both cut back on costs and make some Rubles. I want to show you exactly how I do that, This method works in Realistic mode as well as easier difficulties. I wanted something that doesn't require retrofits or deconstruction something that's upgradable over time and also something that even when we are established I can keep using going forth to feed the republic

    Manage all aspects of your republic in this soviet-themed city builder game. A planned economy puts you in control of everything from mining resources to manufacturing goods and providing services - use this power to make decisions that impact your citizens’ day-to-day lives and their ultimate loyalty to the nation. Whether it’s construction, transportation, trade, healthcare, education, entertainment, tourism, or any of the countless other facets of a full-fledged city, it’s up to you to determine availability, accessibility, and quality. Contend with a deep simulation of global supply chains as you seek fertile soils, ore veins, and viable lands upon which to build your nation - let the radio stations sing your praises and the citizens rejoice in their glorious soviet republic.
    Multiple complex simulations work together to bring your cities to life in Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic - whether it’s the price of goods in the global market, the proper distribution of electricity and water, or the increased supply of heat during the winter months, everything can be manipulated with the right actions. Adjust your game settings based on your appetite for complexity in particular areas - civil engineers, urban planners, economists, and simulation enthusiasts will all be able to experience the mechanics they love.
    Run your nation with both rubles and dollars as you strike a balance between eastern and western markets, trading with nations from either side of the Iron Curtain to gain access to valuable currency, resources, and technology. Despite following a soviet-styled planned economy, you are a fledgling non-aligned nation - this sets you free to engage in trade with both the Western Bloc and the Soviet Bloc to your benefit. Loyalty to one side is always an option, but flooding one market with your goods might result in diminishing returns, and shunning the other side might see you cut off from useful technological advances.

    If you want to get more crops out of your fields, build a distribution centre and put trucks in it and select the fields you want to empty and send them to the cargo station. it also means you can get more tractors to spread cow jobby on the fields = more efficient

    Some minor problem with the setup.
    1. The train crossover may block traffic and causing waste to overflow, posing health risk and extra pollution. The solution is just remove that pice of crossing road or build a bridge/tunnel.
    2. Using bus line without end station is quit inefficient, when building your own, try to use end station as much as possible.
    3. Winter will slow road vehicle substantially when the snow is not plowed on time, add technical services at good locations will fix that, or go for train/tram, which won't be affected by weather. (end station is still preferred)

      @JDPlays  6 месяцев назад +5

      1. Yes I mentioned this in the video.
      2. End station is a great idea, but that should be closer to your town not in the industrial area, and also outside the scope of this video
      3. Tram/Train to move around people is also maybe not a good idea for your first Industry as Rubles aren't exactly flowing in Realistic mode, but later on yes it could be upgraded with ease to allow either passenger trains OR Trams for workers

    If you follow his pattern in realistic mode you'll go bankrupt by the time you'll start buying the train and cargo wagons. It won't work in realistic unless you go reaaaaally deep in loans.
    The way you layed out the whole coplex is great though. 1 joint spacious warehouse to store-them-all and industries around it, that you can build later on, is a good way to start. But you should start with Clothes>Fabric first. As people below already mentioned you'll have less truckloads with this compared to food and alcohol.
    It means:
    -Less expences on trucks and fuel for them.
    -You can get away with trucks only delivering crops (depending on the distace to customs ofcourse)
    -You won't need 10+ trucks to keep it running and won't completely clog your customs.
    I think the right order that will work is (given you already have it planned out in similar way to the video):
    1) 2 Clothes factories and the warehouse
    2) Fabric factory
    3) When above is up and running start working on the railroad - build the construction depot first, deliver the disassembled track builder, and let it work. You'll need train depot as well, but it can wait a bit
    4) Food factory
    5) Look for a cheap used train - sometimes you can get away with a decent one for a half of it's price. By this time you should already have a small maintenance depot and can fix it.
    And also purchase 6-8 wagons for crops (Depending on the distance)
    6) Alcohol
    7) Slaugter house
    8) Livestock farm
    After step 5) your biggest expense after steel will be crops. You can go ahead and build a crop farm with 16-20 large fields and and railroad and continue with alcohol after that

    "First industry". Sets up a train due to high impact on the border.
    Sorry, no. This might be viable in unlimited money sandbox, or easy-money soft-realistic-mode where you can set up a train early, but not in the "full" realistic settings of the game.
    With only 1.5 Million ₽ starting money and not going down the loan-trap, the thing you might want to do is: Search for a high-value/low-capacity good.
    For example fabric->cloth.
    By producing cloth from fabric you transport 2.4t of fabric and 1.2t of cloth a day. That's a total of 0.45 truck-loads (Skoda 706 RTTN) per day, so you only clog the border with the import/export less than every other day. Compare that to crops->food, where you have more than 7 (7.28) truck loads each and every day. Since the main bottleneck of the early game is the import and export of stuff, that makes a huge difference. Even if we - say - want the exact same amount of profit (only taking import and export of goods into account), you still only have 1.3 truckloads per day, compared to the 7.28 from crops->food.
    To give this post hopefully some value to you and others, here are some numbers of starting industries (where we don't need any research):
    (Industry -- Truckloads per Day -- Truckloads per Day to match "crops->food"'s daily profit)
    * Alcohol -- 3.92 -- 7,45
    * Clothes -- 0.45 -- 1.30
    * Explosives -- 0.51 -- 1.64
    * Fabric -- 2.13 -- 4.24
    * Food - 7.28 -- 7.28
    Or in short: In my opinion, with the bottleneck "custom house" in mind, clothes and explosives are the way to go. Especially if you adjust the profit for workers needed. A fully staffed Food-fabric needs 170 workers while a Clothes fabric only needs 80.
    But. Yes, there's always a but(t). This doesn't take into account the initial setup costs. I just remembered I did all this stuff in an old calc-sheet of mine. There I had also taken the break-even-point into account. Since we have to import every ton of steel to build the factories, here are some additional numbers how expensive it is (ignoring vehicles) to build things (my current game, 1962). The profit/day ignores workforce-cost but includes power import and the import-cost of chemicals to clean water:
    (Industry -- material costs -- profit/day -- break even point)
    * Alcohol - 12,351.49 ₽ - 1,031.17 ₽ - 12 days
    * Clothes - 19,534.20 ₽ - 692.41 ₽ - 28.21 days
    * Explosives - 29,884.97 ₽ - 636.05 ₽ - 47 days
    * Fabric - 10,509.30 ₽ - 1,001.25 ₽ - 10.5 days
    * Food - 27,546.15 ₽ - 1,993.16 ₽ - 13.82 days
    For comparison, I calculated a decent farm-setup to cost around 160,000₽, a raffinery right now would cost 145,000₽ in importet building materials.
    tl;dr: You don't usually start with trains in realistic mode and usually have the custom house as a bottleneck so starting with food might not be the best idea.

      well, you explained it more than I would like, it is not possible in a realistic way with trains, especially building a city is a huge challenge, and you have to earn money almost from the very beginning

    • @bilmem15
      @bilmem15 22 дня назад

      you would need a 4k+ town for this; so having a balanced economy, and a rail capable medium sized construction industry are implied IMO

  • @tixarfuriaa
    @tixarfuriaa 3 месяца назад

    building it in a realistic mode requires a ton of preparation, not to mention the railway, because it is a huge investment as the number of people needed for it will be a success if someone manages to have a city with a population of 6k, it is not as easy as it looks for you, the railway itself is not achievable up to 10k population too high cost of construction for a better city
    , and factories closer to the border to reduce the road to sales, and this has to be done because fuel also costs people and a city from 6k is not a village, and a small town needs about 2-3 billion and 5 years to build it realistically. you have some of your own raw materials or produce products from fields,
    the factory model itself is ok if it is placed in front of the border and the city behind it so that the buses don't run too much ;) I know, it's a difficult game and I have a lot of nuances, I built the city myself about 40 times and I still don't know everything, but I already know the beginning enough to know I know these nuances inside and out ;) Regards, I'm counting on more materials from the game :) p.s. and we don't play with food but with clothes, food is like an addition to the production of clothesv

    In the V1.1 with 2 food factories, would it be worthwhile to horizontally flip the left/center food factory and then move it closer to the distillery, giving you space between them for the garbage collection and/or a monument to boost morale or even the infrastructure buildings so they're accessed from the front road? It shouldn't be too far from the bus station if the distillery is still reaching, right?

    Thx for showing this.
    i buildet similar but added a grain storage to this set up. The chain is larg farm -> via bus -> grain storage -> via factory connection -> warehouse -> vis factory connection -> to all buildings.
    The Problem ist, that the stored grain i not tranfering fromg grain storage to warehouse. i testet in sandbox mode and there was only sometimes moving activity and stop suddenly and again and again. i tried one way fact. conn. - but no solution.
    when the grain storage is full - the unloading crops r delivering corractly through and ending in the warehouse - but when the warehouse is empty again - the full grain storage stands with full crops an is not transfering the crops
    Anyone an idea? a bug?

      @@darkfoxx87 You can only push to one connection. It mens Train to Grain storage. Its not possibal to push to to connection. On way is to use forklift but for cobs not the best, because of the low volume the can carry. A other way is to load it with a truck and imediatly to unloading it. So u load in diract in the grainstorage no Station allowd and and unload the grain after loading it.
