YAAASSSSSS - couple of thoughts: try a Bsus2 where the Bmaj/Bmin ambiguous chord goes. And the Asus2 sounds better everywhere instead of the Amaj in my humble opinion - especially at the end with the repeating F, G, A phrase. Thanks for keeping the 90s alive bro!
Bsus2 is valid - I finally spotted the D# in the piano part which means it's definitely a regular B major chord - but if chris played G/B, then you should feel free to play Bsus2 :) thanks for hanging out PV!
Great video Ryan! Hey, couple of songs Ed plays - Picture in a Frame (Tom Waits) on Immagine in Cornice DVD, and Don't be Shy (Cat Stevens). Just throwing some ideas out there...
This song blows my mind. It’s simple while also being complex in its structure and melody. I’ve never been able to quite figure out what’s going on in it. I can’t tell if the key is A or D🤷♂️
I love this song. Thank you for the lesson, Ryan. I sometimes think Chris Cornell had his own musical keys that he adhered to more so than the ones used by us mere mortals. You might want to dust off your piano, because a request for the piano parts will soon be made, with tortoise food attached. You know, as soon as that thing that I mentioned in that last email, which is keeping me from supporting the cause (hrrmpff), arrives in the mail... The piano-lessons-from-a-guy-who-doesn't-play-the-piano playlist deserves some love :) Also, I've decided that I identify more with my Mars age than my Fomalhaut-b age.
10/11/19. Song in 6/8 and in “Swung” strumming...When you started singing, Chris Cornell Cricket started singing at around the 5 minute mark, and Chris Cornell Cricket kept singing until Mrs. Poopadoop showed up at around 8:30 mark when Chris Cornell Cricket stopped singing. Way to go, Mrs. Poopadoop, for scaring off Chris Cornell Cricket! ..... Ryan, if you have time, check out my new video “ Minnie’s Christmas present finally comes back from the sea.” Thanks and Take care, Ryan.
Is there something about 6/8 timing that just lends itself to moving all over keys? Seems like Chris did this constantly especially with Temple and that the chords don't ever seem to feel wrong. Or was it just that his vocal melodies allowed him to do it?
I think it was more total lack of knowledge of what a key is encouraged him to find neat melodies to make the chords fit together :) not a bad approach.
Loving your channel, Ryan! So many songs, So little time! I have one request, and I think you are the one that can pull it off...Can you do a "campfire" version of Tool's Forty Six & 2, please, Sir? Thanks in advance! ~Steve :)
A.) Long overdue indeed B.) What do you mean Masquerade?! No..no...that simply can't be true. You look nothing like Mrs. Poopadoop. No...you're just joking.

Nice job. Easy instructions and fine execution. Chris Cornell was one of my favorite artist ever. 👍
