If you just want to cram a new motor in it to advertise your sponsors, just say "the engine might be ok, but were gonna swap it for something better"...or "the motor is showing some wear, and while some might keep it and try to fix it up, we have bigger plans"
@@basshead. eh, who cares. It's different. 2JZ swaps along with LS swaps are becoming all too common. A 292 is unique, especially for that year of c10, you almost never see them with an inline 6. A 2JZ is fun sure, but honestly does EVERY CAR you drive have to have 500+ HP and have wicked acceleration. I think a mildly built 292 would be perfectly fine for this truck. Enough power to be fun while still being unique.
Ive had cars that ran perfectly fine, but obviously a bit tired, at 90psi. Theres about 18% difference in between the 140-170 psi. I'd wonder if the heads are worn out or loose rockers before throwing that engine out.
Yes, having the cylinders between those compressions is the wanted range, however you would expect the difference between the cylinders to be fairly even.Eg: If the engine is running at around 160 PSI compression, then you would expect the compression readings of all of the cylinders to be within 5 PSI either way of the average, so between 155 PSI to 165 PSI.Anything more than this starts to put uneven strain on the engine as each cylinder will be producing a different amount of power. this will make the engine less efficient, and also cause parts like main journal bearings to wear faster and unevenly due to the unbalanced forces in the engine.
