- My friend REALLY wanted a rooster quilt in patriotic colors as a bedspread. I told him "no" at first. But then, the idea wouldn't leave my head. So, I started collecting together the right fabrics and next thing I knew, Mr. Rooster took on a life of his own!!
This is just my documented process as I went on my "double dare" rooster journey.

Never thought of using a long arm to appliqué. Now I want one! And never would have tried to appliqué individual feathers, but that’s what makes it so beautiful. The whole pint of doing something like this is to lose yourself in the process, you’re brilliant!
I really do vote that everyone who sorta wants one should get a longarm. I love mine!!

I have only been quilting for 5 or so years, I have seen these beautiful "show quilts" but have never felt like that was something I would like to do. But, OMG! This is gorgeous! Love your technique, and the way you went about picking colors and actually doing applique on the long arm!! Great job!! Love the video, thank you for inspiration!!

This rooster is amazing!! I love him!! me and my best friend have a running joke going for years with roosters. As a kid, my mother loved roosters. I just thought they were creepy. So now anytime my friend and I find an odd rooster we pick it up and save it for Christmas and birthdays. It’s really gotten to be fun to see what kind of goofy rooster we found. I’m starting to really like roosters and this would be perfect for her!! not what she expects lol

That "red thing" is called a "waddle.". It took me years...to find that out.😂. The quilt is awesome!!! Love it. 😊

It is a wattle, not a waddle which is how a duck or goose walks.

Wow, I love the colours in the rooster. Your "collar" fabric suits him beautifully. I've bern workung on a similar project, for months, on my domestic, involving a tree and lots of leaves.
I did them in various shades of greens, double sided, turned them out, sewed around the edges, sewed veins in them all and then sewed them onto the tree too, but only attached by the top of the leaf, so they are all loose on the tree.
I was doubting myself, but after seeing yr rooster, I'm actually quite pleased with mine now ( being an amateur home quilter)

I made a pixilated elephant for a niece using the Missouri Star pattern, so I know how much fun that is. So, please add the rooster pattern to your website. 😊
