    The funeral rites performed by the people are exactly same the tradition we follow in South india. In an interview the director said none of the films shown us the exact funeral rites. He told he did this funeral as a event as a everyone in this world should go pass through this event at any point in their life. Metaphors used in this film are very brilliant.

    Jaby, you missed one thing. Both the president and the politician wanted to kill the brother for their own reasons. The people who attacked the brother in the fields are the goons of president who tried to kill him , but he escaped from there only to be killed by the politician‘s henchman in the tea stall. So, I think the scene is justified!

      @@jay6092 no the men were sent by the president only and chitti babu knew this is how president does to his rivals and might kill his brother inthe same way. So this is how chitti babu saved his brother from the president because he was aware of this from before and he is always ready to save his brother. But he was not ready or aware of politician’s master plan and fun fact : even the president thinks till his death that his men had killed kumar babu. Its actually a perfect strategy by politician.

      Hi mr. Chinna phani..the issue is not limited to india itself there are many issues around the world but in different clothes like white/black,rich/poor,ethnicity etc...it is human nature to try and hold their culture and traditions..if i come to your house and change the atmosphere the way i like you definitely would ask me to leave the house or you would never invite me again because you want your house to be your liking...also dogs have their own territory..they would not let other dogs to come...likewise humans being social animals they like to be with similar people in terms of culture/language/ethnicity/work etc...it is easy to have alliance with same community people rather than outside.
      Yes ..i do agree that killing another human for the sake of their pride in absolutely inhuman and not acceptable at any rate...unlike west..marriage is between two families...that is our family system is far better than than western family..we believe in community...they believe in individuality...they are broke buddy...rapid urbanization making things better now...our Indian society has always been changing according to the changes to culture/geography/work/technology etc....
      I hope you understand...i am against the killing though..definitely..but also there is a reason for our practices..

      @@vijaykumar4500 Hi MR. Vijay, so if you come to my home and change the atmosphere?? If you are that kind I won't even Invite you. So judging just by cast and money is not culture brother. One shoudl judge one by the values and behaviour. So your behavior is not good will cut you there itself why would I invite yoh if your behavior is not good. I won't hold my self by not inviting just by knowing your caste and your financial status. I will get along for sometime and get tonkkow you your behavior your values your character. So these things are not defined by caste or confined to caste. Any human being can have any of the attributes mentioned above.
      Hold on to your culture not caste caste is not a culter caste is the work that you do, your designation. So culture and caste are two different entities.

    From the beginning of the mve, villian was described as the snake the villagers metaphorly talking abt. When ever u see the villian on screen u here the music which is oftenly used to tame snakes in India. In the climax when he find outs the hideout which is underneath the ground, sleeping like a snake, and attacks the chitti babu as a snake attack (very fast). And finally chitti babu hitting the villian with stick, u cant even see the villian as he was snake and u can't possibly catch a snake and a man hitting it on a camera at the same time. This movie is a classic because of its commentary on the caste dynamics. Both villains are upper caste. Most of the village people are not. Also, the final villain though talks about social equality, he couldn't bear his daughter romancing with a person from lower caste, thereby, commits honor killing which is a quiet prevalent crime in India. He just uses lower caste people for his politics.

    The powerful people killing the poor for getting with their daughter is a VERY well explored trope in Telugu cinema. Everyone would've saw it coming if there was even a little connection to show that it was his daughter. And due to that, when it is revealed, it is not out of the blue for us since we have seen this a million times and it didn't take any time to connect the dots. I can understand why if someone isn't exposed to that trope as much, they would need a lot more explanation to connect with it.

  • @sidnaaz4149
    @sidnaaz4149 2 года назад +96

    Jaby, we were able to connect more than you did regarding the climax the reason being how often we see honor killings and how well versed we are with it. There must be millions+ films regarding the same topic, so that's why we Indian people as an audience didn't needed the whole explanation regarding the villain killing the brother, there is line indicating the caste and we instinctively know the whole thing with no details whatsoever. You wanted it be more detailed or at least a hint regarding the love story as you don't have the cultural background that's it.

    The thing which made this movie great are the little details and the analogy. The more you watch it, the more you will appreciate those little details. I too felt it was okay in the first watch, and from my second watch I liked it more and more. It's one of my all time favs.
    Some things you might have missed..
    The president was designed after the snake.
    The president's name is related to snakes, to keep it simple it's like lord of the snakes, the divine snake.
    In the end, the way he was killed is similar to how you would kill a snake.
    And also, at the end you can see that president's clothes were on the rope, similar to snake shedding it's skin and implying it's some where near there.
    And also the president was sleeping like snake in that hut at the end.
    And in one of the earlier scenes, where chitti babu and the other guys were fighting in the market and they stop when president comes, there is one specific shot there, showing the back of the president, he has something like a big dot or line on his back, something similar to what a snake has.
    And there are many other minute details, which made this movie great for me.
    And BTW...for anyone wondering, the points above are explained & confirmed by director itself.

    Reg the brother getting killed in the tea stall rather than the fields.. It is because in the fields, president's men tried to kill him but in the tea stall that politician's man killed the brother... So if he ends up getting killed in the fields it doesnt make sense cuz one would feel those other killers r also sent by the politician (when in fact the president sent them)

    • @sidnaaz4149
      @sidnaaz4149 2 года назад +1

    • @pkboolean

      I always felt like those killers were also sent by the politician..because the politician wanted to have the president take all the blame. I felt like the president was smart enough to know that it was too late to kill him by then since the whole city would revolt against him and he would have nothing to rule anyway..

    • @vandanarai3108
      @vandanarai3108 2 года назад +3

      It is that scene that clues us in to something else more dubious is at play. The murder attempts in the fields was crude using the field and the darkness as a shield from potential witnesses while the one at the tea stall was not concerned with witnesses - why? Because they were not from that village. Also the way in which the brother was killed - from the front, not from the back, indicated that he knew the attacker and trusted him/them. The brother may have died from his previous wounds but this attacker had to made sure that he was dead - he gave a precise and swift cut. It clues us the audience that something is amiss and we want Chitti Babu to work it out......but we see him looking after the politician.

    Jaby, firstly a big thanks for watching and understanding the Indian content well and regional nuances too. A big fan. However there are certain points I would like to covey here,
    1. Honor killings cases are in quite numbers when it comes to various regional parts of india. So the ending plots and reasoning to it was well relatable to us especially regional viewers.
    2. The person who played chittibabu is Ramcharan and he has proved his mettle with this film as it was a career defining film for him post magadheera.
    3. Every character in the film was very very relatable to the regional audience especially in terms of their pitch, their individual characterisation and the film plot itself was quite new for Telugu audiences.
    4. The subplots and not revealing the twist till the end was to give that ooooo moment to audience if not it would’ve been jus another movie with what could be a predictable twist.
    5. The entire movie is etched from chittibabu View and hence the reason subplot of that love angle was not visible up until the end.

    The reason why they didn't show the relation between the main villain and his daughter is that, honor killing is a thing in India and indian ppl would have guessed it to him as the killer of the brother.

Major audience just want essence of the film like what it gave them feeling in the end of the film. Anyhow you enjoyed fillm

  • @050138

    Jaby you are not getting the point.... Both the villains are upper caste men who have no respect for the lower classes or castes.... But the politician guy who was supporting him is using the lower class people for his politics thought he still hates or looks down the lower caste people and considers them beneath him....
    This is the reason he couldn't have taken help from the Prez and also he wanted to not only kill the brother of Chitti but direct the blame towards the Prez and further his political ambitions....
    You keep saying that it is a round about way to kill someone but he wanted to do without soiling his hands.... And at the same time benefit by both deaths....
    That lip reading was important because people who generally have a disorder develop sharper perception in other senses.... Since Chitti is partially deaf, he has a better sense of lip reading....
    This lip reading trait of Chitti is also shown at the beginning when he slaps a guy for abusing him.... And in a funny way when Samantha expresses his love....
    There are other finer details like the snake allegory with the Prez which I won't elaborate because the comment section is already filled with that! Nobody expected such a real and rustic performance from Ram Charan is another reason for it's success....

    guys waiting for the 3rd part from 3 days...wanna tell you some interesting facts...you know the director sukumar who gave some great films like rangasthalam, arya, pushpa, jagadam etc...he is famous for putting some subplots and use intelligence to surprise audience...from the start, hero was searching for a snake right? that snake is nothing but the villian (president) himself...so he killed him with a stick beating him a like a snake, president also lives in a corner grassy place generally where snakes live...he sleeps like a snake and he just try to stab with a knife (quick bite) very quickly and runs away like a snake....anyways thanks for watching one of the best cult films that ever made in this decade...Thanq Charan and sukumar for giving us this cult film...
    PS: guys you were confused, people who tried to kill kumar babu was goons of president only and they missed. but the politician(prakash raj) get him killed by his assistant for loving his daughter and moreover there are many cultural things that you cant understand....

    Tq for the reaction Jaby. The director also made a movie dedicated to FATHER'S LOVE starring Jr NTR- NANNAKU PREMATHO. This will definitely touch you deep And give u another view point of Sukumar (as this is a pure rural story, Nannaku Prematho is completely urban) and will also introduce you to Jr NTR as RRR is about to release you'll know the actors and thier abilities before hand.

    • @nagarjunayt
      @nagarjunayt 2 года назад +1

      Nannaku Prematho is a long mind game and less emotional than it should be. While I like the film, the emotional connect is definitely amiss because there's very little that's depicted (visually or figuratively) about the father's love or the love for the father. If you want movies which do that better, then you have 1-Nenokkadine and Son of Satyamurthy.
      In 1-Nenokkadine, you don't even see the parent characters till the end, but you're always connected to the protagonist's pain of losing them.
      In Son of Satyamurthy, the father character stays on screen hardly for 5 mins, but the entire movie runs on his philosophy or the upkeep of his prestige.

    • @sidnaaz4149
      @sidnaaz4149 2 года назад

      @@nagarjunayt I understand your point. There's alot more to that movie than only father's love which I Have mentioned in the comment. I said Jaby would be touched as he shares the grief of losing a father. And they have already reviewed 1 nen okkadanne.

    • @nagarjunayt
      @nagarjunayt 2 года назад

      @@sidnaaz4149 I got you, Jaby may connect with it now, but there's not enough emotional justification for the title Nannaku Prematho. I know Jaby lost his father (been a couple of years since he put up that memories video with his Dad).

    Explanation for climax....
    Once the hero kills villain, it takes a long time for people to recognise he is dead.
    It was shown earlier that, though he cared for villan so much for two years, they don't even allow him to meet him. Because hero belongs to a lower community. No body cares about him. Once he enters into the house and leaves the house it's the same situation. After several hours of death, villans people would find him dead and enquire for the murderer. They can just accuse hero for being there in the last minute, but can't prove he killed the villan, because by the time of prosecution no one can find the murderer weapon. And no one has seen hero killing the villain with naked eye. Hero could easily get away with this.. Law can not punish him merely for the reason Hero was the last person to see him...there is a chance some one else can murder him once hero left chat with villan. It's so obvious. The main theme of the climax Michael Jackson s " All I wanna say that they don't really care about us." Which means they don't care about low community people either they sacrifice thier whole life for them or even they kill them.

    1. Two groups fighting each other broke when president comes. The reason why they didn't continue fighting after he left is a symbol those groups start fighting each other and come together to fight against president later.
    2. If there's any hint of she is a daughter of the villain, Indian audience would definitely understand the plot. As we've seen it million times.
    3. Villain didn't take 2 months to heal, he was in hospital for 2 years where his physical wounds would've healed already. He just needed 2 months to heal mentally.
    4. From the beginning Chittibabu looks for a snake, in the end he searches the same way he searches for the snake. He even kills the president the way we kill a snake. And presidents name is a synonym of the snake. Even President kills his fellow like snake kills their babies. It was a clever design of the master director Sukumar.
