- This series covers the construction of my settlement at Starlight Drive In. Apart from Place Everywhere no settlement object mods were used, and only uses vanilla and DLC objects.
In this part I create the rear gate to the settlement along a guard post and storage area underneath, along with a shelter for travelling caravans to rest and storage their goods.

This is what I wished the base game could accomplish. You're video's extremely impressive and you work so fast that it never gets boring. Your contents really cool.
Awesome to hear you are enjoying the vids, many thanks! 😁👍
That turret stand beside the roof guard post was a really nice touch
Glad you liked it, thanks! 👍😁
Continually impressed with your eye for the wasteland aesthetic. Nice layout there. Be interesting to see how the npc settlers interact with the area.
Thank you! Settler pathing can certainly be frustrating at times and for most builds I normally have to make small adjustments to help them get round. The provisioner from Abernathy used to walk through this area down to the dinner and back on each visit, which is one of the reasons I put a gate here.
Since building it she now just walks past the gate and takes the side road around the settlement and uses its main gate 🤬 I have found that by adding floor pieces forming a path can help the settlers get through problem spots, but sometimes you just have to admit defeat.
always so imaginative a great job as always thank you for sharing
Great to hear you enjoyed it, many thanks! 😁
Great job! And a lot of stuff to decorate... it can be so painful at times... good luck!
Thanks! Decoration is progressing... slowly 😅
Really like the way you incorporated the rear gate into the existing structure nearby. Blended everything really nice. 👍🏻
Many thanks, glad you liked it! 👍😁
awesome as always, i love your tactical realism where you put metal parts facing the outside and more wooden towards the inside on the outer buildings, it's a small detail but it would make sense in a real setting, can't wait to see what you do for the south wall!
Thank you! I feel the metal walls would definitely do a better job of keeping the Commonwealths critters and nasties out! The settlements SE wall is covered in the next part, along with a little Clinic and me changing my mind on a few little things (felt I could not just have a video of me placing junk walls 😪).
keep up the good work, very creative! I admittedly like watching these before sleeping (it's a good thing lol)
Glad you liked it, thanks! I know what you mean about liking to watch the vids before going to sleep. I would quite often find myself nodding off while watching building streams, not because I found the content boring but just found the building sounds somehow soothing… 😴
Just looking through all your responses to the comments you look like a great creator and your eye for building is great you've got a sub from me bro
Welcome! Great to hear you are enjoying the builds and thanks for the sub! 👍😁
You're in my recommend, must be doing something right! I like your building style.
Glad you liked the build, many thanks! 😁
Looks good, keeping it scrappy green :)
Thanks! 😁👍
It's awesome to see where it started compared to where it is now, great work! What do you think your next project will be?
Thanks! No idea where I’ll be building next, still working on getting this place furnished and decorated which is proving to be quite a task. When its time to pick a new location I’ll most likely run a poll to help me decide, but definitely want a smaller location next! 🤣
@@FiddleflapsVids I think the only really large one you have left is spectacle island.
I could also be very wrong about that.
@@EchoThreeOne Lol, much like Vault 88 I try not to think about Spectacle Island 😱 I would also class Sunshine and Nordhagen as ‘large’ builds so they wont be options, also have an idea for Mechanists Lair that I might like to try out. Still plenty of time decide and got to get this one finished first!
@@FiddleflapsVids the lighthouse would be an awesome build to see in your scrappy/proper fallout esc vibe, nobody really makes settlements there, and from the settlement with the underground Bunker and the ruined house (I forget the name of it but it's on the coast) that was a good build from nearly nothing
@@bigbloo9322 Kingsport Lighthouse is one of my favourite locations and will be on the list of options for the next build. Glad you liked the Coastal Cottage build! 😄👍
Any chance of you making a tutorial on how you config and use Place Anywhere? I'm having a hard time using it on Xbox and getting it to work like yours does...Amazing video as always! So relaxing to watch!
Glad you enjoyed - thanks! I play on PC and use Place Everywhere, which has a similar name but is different mod from Place Anywhere on Xbox (which I don’t know how to setup or use). Gaming 4 XP has a tutorial on how to use Place Anywhere which might help you out:

@@FiddleflapsVids thanks for the help mate, 🤘🏻
Have you ever tried sticking a railing in a door frame to make windows? You might be able to even hide the wire fencing in the opening to act as a blood bug net.
I have seen other people do something similar and must confess to not really liking how it looks, feeling it still looks more like a door than a window piece. I’ll have to have a proper play around and might be able to use Place Everywhere to blend another piece to make it more window like. Thanks for the suggestion 👍
I usually turn my settlements into compounds with concrete foundations for walls
Sounds like it would make for some very well defended and sturdy looking settlements! 😁
@@FiddleflapsVids yea but my settlements all look the same
Great vid!
Thanks! 😄
