I don't know about you guys but throughout high school I always put Master of Puppets(the album) in my old stereo system and fell asleep listening to it. So I guess Battery/Master of Puppets(the song) being the first 2 of the album are the songs I fell asleep to.

I'm definitely the kind of person who can fall asleep to anything, for me relentless mutation and all shall align by archspire are my go to albums for sleeping.
Alcest is the go to band for me to relax to. The big three of British doom, My Dying Bride, Anathema and Paradise Lost work well too. Anathema especially as if you play their entire discography in order they take you on an incredible musical journey. I know a lot of the material of these three is death metal, but also I'm one of those people who can fall asleep to almost any music, including death metal. Also, My Dying Bride do have a certain hypnotic element. The Angel And The Dark River especially.
*Another 5 or so I'm going to mention* believe it or not are *Self~Titled* by Adema, *TeknoWhore* by Bile, *Candyass* by Orgy, *Life* by Dope (because it kind of as a sort of more *laid back/chill* vibe to it than "some" of their "other" records), and honestly any Kyuss album and/or *S/T* by Queens of the Stone Age as a tie for #5. A noteworthy *honorable mention* is *Infiltrate, Destroy, Rebuild* by CKY. 🧡 🖤
I usually listen to some Tangerine Dream or slowcore stuff like Low if I want to unwind for the night. Also, the music of Cigarettes After Sex is really great for sleeping to/relaxing; all of their songs are really vibey and atmospheric.
i love falling asleep 2 more atmospheric black-metal and dsbm, my favorite bands for sleeping r xasthur, lifelover, exiled from light, leviathan, and some of darkthrones albums
I can sleep with almost everything, from raw black metal to jpop LOL. Ive lately slept with Boris - Flood or Feedbacker and Gorguts - Obscura, i am planning sleeping with Manierisme dudee it sounds like bad radio signal lol its awesome!
Funeral doom and drone metal helps me sleep. Esoteric for example just weirdly lulls me to sleep. Also gotta mention My Dying Bride as they can help me sleep with albums like Turn Loose the Swans.
*Last but certainly not least* I gotta put *legit anything by Depeche Mode, Goo by Sonic Youth, anything by The Smiths, and Sonic Jihad by Snake River Conspiracy~* 🐍
my preferred approach to ‘music I honkshoo to’ is when metal bands make slow tunes. Obviously Type O is one of the kings of this. For very personal reasons, ‘Wolf Moon’ is my favorite Type O song, period (eta: this pun was not intentional but I’m doubling down). I have drifted to sleep with it on repeat a number of times. For a LONG time, my go-to sleepytime track was the one quiet track on Down’s debut album, called Jail. I LOVE Jail. So much. It is actively precious in my sight. It is tremendously soothing to me and probably always will be. Unto Others is a good one too, imo. I’ve drifted off a number of times to ‘It’ll be over before you know it,’ for near-identical reasons as to why I love Jail. But if I’m sleepy enough a lot of their music is like pure melatonin to me (affectionate. not derogatory) When I was actively obsessed with Bad Omens’ Death of Piece of Mind, a lot of their tracks were sleepy tunes too. Bad decisions, Somebody else, and even the title track were all candidates. Oh, and there was that one time I zonked out to Merchant of the Void by 3TEETH and Mick Gordon. I should explore that avenue more often, I think. (believe it or not this list is not exhaustive)
As far as metal goes, I think I'd have to say Insomnium (specifically Winter's Gate) and Voyage In Solitude are my two go to's for wind down/pre bedtime music. Or if I'm not in a music mood I'll throw on a playlist of dark piano/gothic/dark fantasy/video game soundtrack stuff: Nox Arcana, Adrian Von Ziegler, Lucas King, Jeremy Soule just to name a few
Goddamn, im getting tired too rn. But bands I LOVE to fall asleep to: Type O Negative Deafheaven Alcest My Dying Bride Invent Animate Agalloch Opeth Drudkh Burzum Swans Blut Aus Nord Anathema Pink Floyd Woods of Ypres Katatonia

*Another one* I must give *credit* to is *Gnosis* by System 6. 😈 It's yet *another* *heavy~tailed* (ass) industrial metal album (by a *relatively* underground/underrated band; *System 6* ) which for some reason unironically has *put me to sleep* before amigo 🔥
I've fallen asleep to Amon Amarth before but not on the regular. I do agree with you on Black Sabbath, though. Their early doom-style stuff is actually kind of dreamy in a way.
*I also gotta mention* Undertow by Tool here and also Mezzanine by *Massive Attack* (no not just because of The Matrix I've literally fallen asleep to that album before too). 💿
Evadne - The pale light of fireflies Is the album that calms me down the most. To wake up quickly, I would recommend the song The shadows have eyes by Mire lore
might be I'm old, maybe its because of how I relax. Besides a fan, I need silence to sleep, but to get in the mood to sleep I like the album Powerslave by Maiden.
If I know a band good enough and I am tired enough I will doze off to anything, like one funny moment was when I was listening to Beast In Black with my little brother. I was almost sleeping while The Fifth Angel was blasting through the speaker and then my mom walked in complained that it was noise and walked out, my mom did not like metal. But here are some songs I use to either calm myself or to sleep, for sleep my most used lullaby is an acoustic live version of Death by Cellar Darling. It is 7 minutes long and has these very slow vocals which is perfect to turn my brain off, all the focus goes to the song and before the song ends I am fast asleep. I use acoustic albums a lot like I have used Icon For Hire's Still Can't Kill Us to drown out an argument between my parents to calm myself down and fall asleep. Progressive music is very good for sleep like listening to my Threshold album always makes me feel safe and sleepy but the best Threshold song for that is That's Why We Came again very lowkey instrumentals and very slow drawn out vocals in combination with Damian Wilson's gentle soft voice it works like a charm. I am very vocal focused so if there is a voice that I like and find soothing I can often use that to calm myself down, for example I have used Lord Of The Lost's The Measure Of All Things a lot to calm myself down. His low voice combined again with a slower more atmospheric track works like a charm. There is also the song Panic Attacks by Icon For Hire that I have used to stop panic attacks before funnily enough. Also yeah any acoustic track just helps I have used Blind Guardian's Skalds and Shadows before like a rehearsal version for some reason and this night it was a very barebones live acoustic version of Stick Under My Skin by Chaoseum, it was just the singer and an acoustic guitar. I think I just found out that for me acoustic versions of songs I know very well work the best for me as a lullaby.
I fall asleep to black metal a lot, usually the more atmospheric side of the genre. Turn the volume down, and you’re basically getting a slightly more interesting white noise generator. Pick just about any funeral doom album, and I can easily shut down to it. Occasionally I can do sludge or the more lo-fi blackened side of doom (the sort of stuff that sounds like you dredged something not meant to be seen by humankind from a swamp). It’s heavier than I typically prefer to fall asleep to, but the washed out production sometimes works to offset that enough for it to work.
I remember almost falling asleep to BMTHs Suicide Season on max volume, and when the soft part of No Need For Introductions ended I woke right up. Heart must've skipped 2 beats. Personally, I can only sleep listening to podcasts
*3 more I have to give props* to are *Industrial* by Pitchshifter, *Demanufacture* by Fear Factory, and *Holy Mountain* by Sleep (obviously doesn't have the same vibe as the first 2 I *gave off* here but ye)..
