Amazing quality footage for its age. The 1926 hurricane was considered the big one before the 1992 Andrew. Love to see the whole documentary.
The 1900 storm was the deadliest hurricane on record. It killed thousands of people.
One that hit Galveston?
Deadliest in the USA, that is. Not internationally - not by a long shot.
My late mother was born in 1926 in Havana,Cuba and that hurricane passed over Havana and my late grandfather rescued her from the flood when the nearby river overflowed and brought her to the second floor of their home whwere he other brothers and my grandmother was to survive the hurricane. They all survived. 😊
I'm annoyed that there's no acknowledgement that this footage has been artificially colorized.
Yall should make a video about the hurrican that hit rockport, tx 1919 The city was thriving so much it would have been one of the biggest city in tx, now its a small town till this day
that is horrible
Actual color coverage? Or remastered
Kreig Dernier remastered in color, I believe
Remember mastered and colored
Colorized. There was no full-spectrum color system available in 1926. Technicolor’s earliest full-color tech first appeared in the early 1930s, and Kodachrome wasn’t perfected until 1935. Any films you might see from the 1920s or earlier in full color must have been artificially colorized.
Im told it was a 1925 Hurricane 🌀 by a Miami XM Hurricane (retired railway 🚃 car thats in Ohio)
Tie your boats with long ropes and don't try to separate the present from the past.
Floridian tings🤪😫💅💪
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
BIG Lonny
$109 million in 1926 is worth $1.8 billion today. Not $165 billion. Inflation averaged 2.94 percent for the period.
