HappyWandy457, What a unique performance of this masterpiece! What a miracle at stage seeing this marvelous singers of three countries, matching timbric and dynamically perfect with that choir and orchestra masterly rehearsed by Abbado. Hans Fröhlich - Germany
My Favourite part of the Requiem however not my favourite video of it. My Fav is Karajan with Tomowa-Sintow, Baltsa, Carreras and Van Dam! It's sublime! This is good too, just not my favourite.
Who are the female soloists here? I know that Carreras is the tenor soloist (too light for the part) and Raimondi, a dropped baritone, is miscast out of his mind in the bass solo part (you need a Pinza at least, and an Emanuel List would not be overkill).
Beautifully sung. The editing irritates me by mostly showing Carreras, When we see all four singers, he looks like a midget between Raimondi and Norman. Norman does not look as obese in black, but still is a rare singer who can make Margaret Price look small.
Sigh, what a voice, Jose. And we were fortunate enough to have these four great artists together in one stage. :)
Beautiful. The pleading as much as the celebration.

Unglaublich! Großartig!
This Usher Hall recrding is the finest version with Raimondi singing at his best. The Mors Stupebit is stupendous
He's the best! :)
La voz de Raimondi suena regia, eclesial...
Carreras sounds amazing in there
Jose Carreras at 4:58 is divine.

Grandios gesungen!
It's hard to sing higher than Raimondi I guess

Non condivido il suo pensiero in questo pezzo Carreras supera il grande Gigli!
