Ikr. I saw her video eat at Indonesia, it sounded not so bad but us, it’s in cent. That tomyam just 1$? It was that cheap? With that probably priced rm7-9 😂😭 Or she got menu rahmah hahahahahah (just kidding) man we’re poor
Nah that’s not how it works. In most of these countries average salaries are lower than United States. For example in my country you can buy a meal at a really high end and luxurious restaurant for 8 dollars but the average salary is 145 dollars per month (and most places don’t pay that much especially in smaller cities) it’s the difference between currencies that make it sound cheap
@@rojhateseveryone I understand that. I’m just saying for the American dollar it’s amazing. To ppl who live in America who are currently struggling with inflation
@@tmar8959 mybe she walks while vlogging and going to restaurants ? Usually theres many tourists here in msia prefers walking, they only booked an uber (We call it grab here) if they want to go to their hotel. :)
Here’s the reason why Karissa is so likeable, seen from the POV of an Asian who has grown up in a predominantly white society. She’s just a run of the mill average white American girl who gives every culture and its specialties an open minded try. None of this picky and precious omg what is that crap you often get from sheltered white American kids. She then makes the effort to not only understand and explain what she’s trying, but she goes even further by making the effort to pronounce foreign languages as accurately as possible. None of these are actually difficult to do - you don’t need a university degree or a fancy job or heritage to be able to do this. All it requires is time, effort, but most of all, sincere respect for the world around you. The acknowledgement that there is a much bigger world beyond your own bubble, and that your bubble isn’t the norm or the be all and end all. Every single one of her videos shows, from her actions, expressions (both words and face), and attitude that she is absolutely humble, respectful, and aware of her place in the world as a global citizen. Basically, she has the ideal attitude and mannerisms that I wish all white people I grew up with had shown me, the way I did for them. I wish my younger self who really struggled with her differences and ‘abnormalities’ had a friend lien Karissa, because I would have had so much more confidence to embrace my own culture and be more open to sharing it with those around me.
I pray that when my son become old enough to travel he does exactly this, travel the world eating delicious foods and enjoying himself….I love your content! ❤
the last food you ate is called cendol which is red bean jelly milk and brown sugar . its good to eat with packed iced or pulut which is a sticky rice soo good
Heya Karissa! That last dessert you had is called "cendol", and although it's spelled that way, it's pronounced "chendol"! So glad you enjoyed such awesome street food! 😊
I'm team Cendol all the way! A combination of slightly salty coconut milk with sweet brown sugar and chewy texture of the cendol jelly. Ice kacang is too sweet for me. Girl you pronounced the names of food so well 👌🏻
I have dragon fruit growing in my backyard- it’s soooo good cold from the fridge on a hot summers day - we have pink and yellow varieties ❤ps I love that you enjoy spicy - I always like to think like the Koreans that it’s a great stress reliever xxx
The prices are so crazy! I be paying $8 for one boba tea😂
We pay 11 jd which is almost 15/16/17 usd for tomyum😭
Yeah, the cheapest boba where I'm from is 4.50 €, but that's without any toppings XD +50ct for each topping
i pay €5 in boba shops in ireland 😭 i would cry if i found 20c boba omg
I thought here in Bangladesh the prices are cheap cause I would pay 2$ for a boba until I saw this- I really need to visit Malaysia istg
