I really appreciate your honest opinions of the food. When someone raves about everything all of the time even though some of it looks dodgy, I never really trust them. When it's not good, you tell it like it is. Thank you.
The 7/11’s in Malaysia are usually not great, definitely incomparable to Family Mart though. Around lunch time, FM is probably at its peak where all the foods and desserts are available!
also our family mart is incomparable to japan's which is unfortunate. For example the difference in oden quality is huge if you've tried both and ours just lacks so much variety compared to japan's
also it would be hilarious if he went to a typical 7-11- just spend the whole video eating roti jagung and milo lol
Hell the only reason 7/11 even *tried* to up their quality and serve ready-to-eat meals was only after they got threatened by Famima's popularity lol (Even then not all 7/11 have cafes yet nor quality ones at that)
@@tofuteh2348 i think family mart msia does a good job of TRYING to replicate japan but it does fall short. However, the 7/11 does kind of remind me of an american one. I would never go there for food, just literally to buy a drink
@@Kogami agreeeed. I remember around 5/4 years ago when I lived in both Penang and KL there were no 7/11 cafes around me and it seems to be a new thing. I definitely think there’s room for way more improvement but 7/11 has to admit themselves they will never be family mart 😹😹
1st time I wasn't jealous about 7-Eleven food 😂😂
I still got so jealous in my country we have so shit ready meals😢
I agree with you. 😂
Agreed😂😂 maybe because we are not so big on convenience store foods since we have all those cheap and delicious street vendors. Also here, FM and CU got better food choices.
7-11 here barely served ready-to-eat meals before, only some boiler for your cup noodles and Slurpees as you'd expect from basic non-Japanese 7-11 stores. It was only because of Famima they started serving ready-to-eat meals and even then they don't try to match the quality of our Famima/CU lol.
FamilyMart Malaysia deserved another episode on its own. Anyway, glad you came here for another episode 💕
He should try McD, even better
So happy that you tried our Famima! I'm so sorry that you have to taste that from our 7-11 though, they only started having cafes after Famima existed here and 7-11 here definitely doesn't match anything Japan offers at all even before they started trying to compete with our local Famima. We also have CU Mart here, I'd love to see you try that! And yes Famima's oden the best when you have it with their ramen noodles :)
Anyone else willing him to buy that 7 Eleven T-shirt so he could revamp his wardrobe?😂
The 7E and FM across my house are located side by side. While 10s of customers flood FM within a span of 10 minutes, not a single customer entered 7E. The stark contrast clearly highlights who's superior when it comes to food quality and variety. Glad you get to try both Mike!
This video explains why we don't recommend our convenient store food to anyone. And why we are so excited when we go abroad and try out other countries' convenient store food.
fact haha
Wdym? Family mart’s food is quite good what
@@ilishazana6988 I think they were referring to the convenience stores in the west (they're so bad). We don't even have Family Mart in NA...
"This thing tastes like the ending of Lost..." 😹 Too funny.
Their Family Mart is sooo good! Especially the pastries and desserts
Even if the company is run out of Texas - it is owned by a Japanese conglomerate. So not surprised that 7-11 is well versed in having outstanding retail in Asia. I wish they would bring some of that to the US though maybe testing some of this in California where there is respect for diversity and multiculturalism.
By golly Mike, are you metabolizing the food as you go. I get a belly ache just watching you eat all that food in one sitting. I love my time here every time though, don’t think otherwise
Hate went he dismantles the sandwiches 😂
Family Mart is my go-to lunch spot - it’s 10-12 mins walk away from work for me but so worth it! I do go to 7-E cafe that is 5 mins walk away if I am feeling lazy and totally agree with your assessment-Family Mart is 10/10, 7-E is more like 6/10. I do like the variety of drinks on offer at 7-E better, though. Thai Milk tea is really good but super sweet so I dilute it at the water cooler in the office before drinking it.
It show mango peach mousse
Finally, not a buffet video
Welcome to Malaysia, as a Malaysian we don't really buy food in 7/11 as the food is bad. Family Mart is a better option or CU mart
don't know why but that i am blind line ..just had me laughing 😂
7-11 cafe is a great concept however they need to find the right supplier for their food. And keeping it fresh is the key.. some of the sandwiches are really soggy and don't look appetizing. If they can improve on the standard definitely can compete with Family Mart.
I will always find time to visit 7-11 in Jpn or Taiwan they have really nice assortments and a special menu.
Yeah you can tell just from the way they looked in the video that they were dry as a desert and sandwiches were soggy and I find it off that they are the only 7-11 to not cut off the crusts on their sandwiches. It's a small thing, but it really loses a lot of appeal and is an easy way to tell they are definitely cutting some corners when comes to food.
Honestly, the 7-11 in the video reminds a lot more of the 7-11 in the US with the way it looks and the food (both in terms of consistency and quality), then the ones in Japan or other parts of Asia. It kinda feels like they trying too hard to go for an fancier "higher-end" experiance but since the food simply doesn't live up to that, it fails miserably . On the other hand, Fami-mart actually looks like what a Fami-mart would look like in Japan with a slight Malaysian twist and seems to embrace it's convenience store heritage and focuses on good affordable food and creating an universal feel between all there stores.
I find it kinda cool how everyone countries 7-11 seems to going in different directions and trying to offer unique experiences...But sometimes I feel they really lose what makes 7-11 so popular in the first place. Fresh, affordable and tasty food all ready to go. Do we really "need" a 7-11 cafe experience, a bookstore or dissapointing "gourmet" meals?
Always surprises me when I see Oatly in other countries, it's from Sweden and we don't even have the soft serve ice cream here, I'm jealous
Watching things like this is kind of amazing to me. Where I live, the food you get at quick-stop places like this comes with the unspoken rule of "eat at your own peril". You're just as likely to end up with food poisoning as you are to find something that actually tastes good.
Oh my, i have being waiting Mike to do this series in Malaysia! hahaha ! Yea 7-11 just started their Cafe 1-2 years back and they still need some time to improve their food quality. Family Mart is way better! We also have the CU mart and E-mart, if you have time to check it out!
I love how you made the transition at 12:20 to make the familymart seems far but it is like a 2 min walk to it from that 7 11
hey I'm visiting Malaysia too! Not in KL but on the East Island, the 711s here seem a bit lack luster imo so I can agree with your opinion as well but there are tons of other places to eat here as well so I usually go else where or eat 711's frozen food, they're surprisingly good, glad to see you're doing videos here 😂 not many ppl talk about this country but I honestly love it here (will be moving here eventually🤞)
which state did you visit in East Malaysia?
@@irsyad1303 I visited Sabah xD
Mikey great eating junk food
7-E really do deserve the criticism, it started of late compared to Family Mart. Hope that it could be better by finding other vendor to do the food for them.
How many times have you had food poisoning?
His face when he takes the first bite of the mochi puff. 🤩
Thanks for the honest assessment.
I miss seeing this 7 11 food reviews this are my kind of food reviews I enjoy seeing on your RUclips channel my favorite has to be the Mack and cheese and cheese cheese 🧀 sandwiches
I love these videosssss ❤❤🎉🎉
The fish taco looks so good 🔥
7/11 was disappointing for me too when i went to malaysia but did love that mango peach cake thingy!! yummy!
So tendurrr, jooshy, and UH-MAY-ZING
Return to the basement.
KEVIN...WE KNOW ALREADY
@@canadianeskimogirllmao sorry , i do like his 7/11 vids but man he overuses those words
@@DevAngel426 You want him to whip out a thesaurus?
you can tell the 7/11 food was ass lmfao
That 711 trip was a total fail.
Were you THERE with Mike?😏
@@myonlineshop4032I believe what he meant was the 7-11 food were quite a failure.
actually you can do the instant noodle hack with oden soup in family mart. We often doing that in Indonesia
Family Mart & CU Mart are always a better choice for us, Malaysians. Anyways, welcome to Malaysia, Mike!
i will only go to a convenience store when all the other regular food shops are closed. it's really like the last place i go for food when there are no other place left.
Your attitude about convenience stores is why they don't sell good food at U.S. 7-11s. People in other countries don't have a problem with buying food from 7-11.
@@kuhnhan i am from Malaysia. What the hell has it to do with stores in US? I don't go to convenience store because I don't like eating processed food from the shelves. I prefer natural food which is cooked on the spot.
@@kuhnhan well he got a point though, convenience store here is not really the first place you choose to get a meal, we had many street food that worth the money, you get both value n better quantity too
A food vlogger, visit Malaysia and review convenient store food. This is so wrong at so many levels!
Lmao you must be new here
@@yorha2b278 no you're clueless. He always does this whenever he visits countries in Asia. Don't comment negatively if you aren't willing to use your brain
@@loveislove2359 Do you see any videos for other Malaysian food? You must be new!
@@Crazymadlybuzza Where's your brain? Oopppsss... It's not there!
@@yorha2b278if you used your brain, you’d see he has a playlist of 7 videos of Malaysian foods lmao
you picked my fav mochi puff too! i knew you would love it XD
I actually thought Family Mart was way better than 7/11 in Japan. There were more choices at 7/11 but taste-wise Family Mart was better (wasabi mayo and cucumber sandos were my go to!). I didn't even go to the 7/11 in Malaysia and went straight to Family Mart haha.
Not sure I want to try something that "tastes like a fluffy pillow."😂😆🤣
Is Mikey on a diet here? Didn't seem like he tried enough food. LOL.
Asia does 7 Eleven so much better than North America does. If I have the ability to travel to Japan one day, you'd bet I'd stuff all of the Japanese sweets into my hotel room fridge. 😜
Mango peach mousse not cheese 😂
I love family mart’s oden
The oden broth is tomyum btw hehe our fav too!
Compared to 7-11 in other countries. Gotta admit Malaysia has a long way to go.
One could tell those items from 7/11 would be dry. No wonder there weren't very many people in there. Cool concept though - too bad they didn't have the product to back it up. In Canada, some of our 7/11s now serve beer and wine. (Barefoot/Bud/Corona/White Claw/Mount Rushmore/Corona)
I honestly think he would eat poo with a splash of chilli oil and say this ia AMAZINGGGGG
That's an oddly specific interest you have there.
I cringed all the way through the 7/11 hot/fresh foods. I was internally shouting stop eating that c**p 😂
At malaysia, people go to 7-11 to buy prepaid topup, condoms, pay bills and pay for shoppee.. 😂
Dear Mike...When are you going to visit Mainland China ?
I LOVE the transparency and honesty Mike! Good video!
We need Family mart in south Korea.
Are the 7-Eleven’s in Malaysia Corporate owned stores or are they franchises?
i think franchises
It's called Tom Yum Oden to be honest.
And I've been skipping surfshark every time.
man, i’m in malaysia right now on vacation! there’s no familymarts near me and the 7/11 is not nearly as good as the one he showed either! makes kuala lumpur feel like a really big place rn with the differences in convenience stores lol. i wish mike would come take me around to the better places around here!
😮 I didn't know that Jacky Chan had a YT channel! 😮 Who knew?!
That isn't a pizza that was breadsticks.
Yea we are not huge on 7-11. Cause we got many restaurants that we don't really do convenience store. We more to cook ourselves or eat at restaurant which is more cheaper and filling. That is the biggest 7-11 i think. Normal 7-11, rarely visited. We be like 'why go to convenience store if the restaurants more filling and worth it'.
Interesting that in a Malaysia 7-Eleven, all the signs are in English and the food wrappers are all English.
Yeah
Best looking was the shrimp pasta and mochi
the minute he said 7-11 in malaysia I was like for what? he's going to taste the toothpastes? Family Mart outside of Japan are terrible. Mochi Puff and their soft serve are my only go to when I was there. Reminds me of softer and bigger eclair.
I worked for 7-11 parent company Southland corp. in Tyler Texas. Home office was in Dallas.
I love FamilyMart Oden…sadly Sabah don’t have😢
was shaking my head for the first half of this video when you made a mistake and decided to go to 7-11 instead of Family Mart
Taiwan, Japan, and Thailand still undefeated
Love seeing these kind of vids! Checking out different convenient stores around the world
@@jttang3148 nope I’ve been following Mikey for about two years now! These are just fun to watch
@@jttang3148 Why on earth would they be ‘new’ because they commented that? Lol & why would it matter? He really doesn’t do convenient stores often these days.

My cuzin said u just went to a bad 7 eleven, but try another one cuz the good ones hard to find
To be honest I am pretty sure I have watched every single 7 eleven video from Mike starting from the Taiwan one
@GoogleSearchMikeyChenfans ?
Malaysia is one of those countries that if you're a traveler and you come to eat at the consider convenience store, you're definitely doing it wrong. The local vendors and stalls are the way to go
As a malaysian myself, I feel like our 7E and FM are way behind compared to the likes of Thailands
my local 7-11 never looked like that
7-11 cafe? Would become a homeless hangout in the US 😂🤷♂️
They must hv had microwaved the croffle for it to be that densed
family mart >>>>
finally!!!!! i've been waiting for mikey to do a convenient store tour in Malaysia!!! For me the best is a toss up between Family Mart and CU but Mynews is good too! the convenient store world changed a lot the last 5+ years here. also CU and My news are under the same company so their bread comes from the same master kitchen. also At family mart you miss out on the korean cheese ramen from the hot food section and the frappe from the freezer!
I feel like bruh caught FamilyMart on a good day.
Wow, i work nearby Puchong. So nice to have u testing out the malaysian 7-11 :)
Seriously? Ada 7E like this in Msia? 😮😮
I think just that one in KL kot..
I was recently here too! I had vlogged about this 7-11, which is considered the largest in Malaysia also in one of my recent travel vlogs!! It would have been nice if I had ran into you! Maybe another time
i think this is the first time you didnt eat instant noodles or noodle dish on a convenience store
I’m a Malaysian and I can guarantee you that you will only be met with disappointment if you’re expecting decent food / service from Family Mart Malaysia. Staff are slow, lacks proper training as they can’t even produce items that are on their extensive drink menu yet they keep coming up with new drinks which is unbelievable.
Please give Family Mart a full review.
try malaysian mcdonald
Malaysia have 7 eleven have food not bad at compared to Australia is absolutely sad, no food not so much stock as well
suss out asutralian seven Lev
Go eat Apom Balik Mike! Its better than the mochi puffs!!! GO TO NIGHT MARKETS MIKE! THE FOOD IS EVEN BETTERRRRRRRR
Great for you, that the first 2 minutes, your trying to sell your sponsor, why not start off with your video first.
That's usually a requirement of the sponsor. Gotta make that cash.
@@csimes988 see I’m coming to the end of Surfshark, is there anything better out there you would recommend
Hairy Cream Puffs? 🤔 Eew! 🤢
Malaysia but dint swing by Penang ?
Not gonna lie, most of the stuff looked bad.
He didn't lie about it much either lol
It all didn’t look very appetising except maybe the drinks
man saying the raw chicken is deliciously light..
Better than US
The peanut butter melts cus the toast is hot
The reason that 7-11s in the United States don't sell better food is that people here won't consider 7-11 as a legitimate place to get something to eat. If people here would buy better food at 7-11, they would sell it there.
