He helped lead the Brazilian National Football (Soccer) team to the 2002 World Cup Championship. Over the last 12 years he has played on two more Brazilian World Cup squads, was considered the best professional player in the sport (2007), and on multiple occasions worked to overcome serious injuries just to get back into the lineup .He played with no fear.
With the 2014 World Cup games to be hosted by Brazil it was time for this soccer legend to return home and bask in the spotlight. But Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, commonly known as Kaká, would not get that moment. Still battling injuries, and for reasons known only by the Brazilian coach, Kaka was left off the 23-man squad for the 2014 Cup.
Seeing successful athletes recognizing Jesus and giving back glory to Him is what makes me happy. They were not blinded by their success and all the fame they got.

Made me tear up. In this world, after all the fame and position you get I'd imagine it's so hard to stand up for your relationship with Jesus. Great to see Kaká like this. Where does he play that he learned Spanish so well? Not for Manchester..... It´s only a first step, however, because Jesus taught, "How you treat the least of these, you also treat me." It´s time to help others a little. I worked at a homeless shelter, and was a member at a food co-op for years, and now give a Brazilian dime to every person asking for help. I also have devoted my Harvard education to learning about social responsibility. That is what Jesus leads to in full.

Im proud to have him as my idol since i was a kid. For me he's the rarest and the most perfect human being in this world. Look at him. He's very goodlooking, rich, but he still stay humble, loyal, and religious. People say i like him cuz of his face but no i see him from his beautiful personality. I wish that one day i could meet him and marry a man who has personality like him :')

Wow, I don't know much about soccer (football to non-American's) or about this Kaka and his faith. In America those of us who follow Jesus for the most part have been delighted that American football player Tim Tebow has been such a Light for Jesus and the Good News of God.
But wow, I suspect that many more people around the world love soccer than we American's with our American football. And I can see how this amazing young man is like a Tim Tebow, not just to Brazil or one nation, but to the world. God bless him!

I wish he had brought up when he became a Christian. Like was it an experience at a Bible camp, did his father or mother bring it up, etc. It is great to know he is a Christian but I want to know when did he become one. God bless you, Kaka.
He got injured in an accident and found God through his search for comfort/certainty at a time where his career could have been taken from him. I believe that is it.
