    I’ve owned my ER2 for more than 10 years now and still love it. That neck pick up for jazz is just perfect. One thing should be mentioned: it’s a very light weight guitar…..just 6 lbs or so. Also it’s slightly neck heavy so a wide suede strap is good to keep it in place while standing. Great guitar.

      Thanks for your comment, and glad to hear that you have liked yours so much. I have a T185mx with similar construction, and similar wait. I do exactly as you and use a wide suede strap with strap locks to keep it pointed up and on my shoulder. I find it works very well this way and doesn’t actually feel neck heavy with the appropriate strap. Eastman is making some of my favourite guitars regardless of price or anything else. Wonderful, and well thought out instruments.

      Wow, congratulations on getting an amazing guitar! Let me know how it all works out. I really appreciate your kind words on the playing. Of the demos I shot this particular day at the store, this guitar was my favorite. It’s so unique and has just a wonderful tone.

      You’re too kind always Derek. Thanks so much for checking out the video, and I’m glad you like the guitar. This was one of my favourites from that day of filming for sure. Really stood out to me!

    Thanks Lucas for reminding me of the reason I bought my ER2 many years ago. With a wall of 7 guitars, she is still the only one I play daily… my drug of choice. Sadly, I’ve worn some of the finish off. Hate to part with her long enough to be refinished. One day. 😊

      Hey Vernon. First, thanks so much for watching, and glad to have reminded you of why you got your Eastman. My old Eastman T185MX has the same issue as yours, and I've got to say don't feel bad about wearingaway some of that finish. To me it's just a sign of how much you love it. I have a couple guitars that really have a lot of ware now, and honestly wouldn't have it any other way. So long as the instrument comes by it honestly, it's a bit of you on that guitar. Just my opinion . Thanks a bunch for watching, and hope you'll stick around to check out some more videos!

      @@LucasHaneman Hi Lucas, Your words of wisdom are equal to your great guitar talents. Was looking into refinishing my ER2, but not sure I could be without it for that long. I’ll take your advice and keep playing it as is. Just started breaking down your rendition of How Insensitive to add my styling. Wish me luck 🍀

    What a stunning and great sounding guitar! Love the lines and colour - and the middle pick-up position sounded sublime with mysteriously rich dimensions! The melody you played in that position was tippy-toe top shelf! Wondering if it gives the buttery jazz chord sounds?

    • @LucasHaneman
      @LucasHaneman  3 года назад

      Thanks so so much for watching and for your really nice comments my friend! Yes buttery Jazz chords all day long. I’d say the guitar sounded warmer in the room then it comes across on the video. I don’t usually love arch top guitars from a players perspective as they can be very big and a little uncomfortable to play, but this one breaks all those rules in the best possible way. Super comfortable guitar with a beautiful beautiful sound!

    Seems close to my Romeo, which is of course completely amazing. Sounds a bit more woody due to the ebony bridge and tail. Eastman just kills it, best guitars and best value too! Liked the walking bass bit there near the end too 🎶

    • @LucasHaneman
      @LucasHaneman  3 года назад

      Glad you like the walking bass! Thanks as always for watching. Yes, it is very close to the Romeo and sound. I’d say maybe just a little darker, but I also recorded the video with a Romeo this same day that I will release in a couple of weeks. I was really impressed with that one as well! I would say that this one seems to be a bit more of a jazz specific guitar where The Romeo, much like my t185 is a guitar that can fit into a lot of different genres. what this one does well though, it does exceptionally well, and the comfort is off the charts. I’ve never really enjoyed playing many archtop guitars, especially the really traditional ones, as they are often just huge, but this one was a breeze to hold and play

      Thanks so much for your nice comments! I really appreciate that. If the lighting is good I can see enough often to at least know the colour of a guitar, but I’m lucky that my wife is often around so she can describe it to me before I start filming :-)

    I'm not an Eastman guy myself, but that's a pretty guitar. and I like the choice of Kent Armstrong pickups. It's just 14" across the lower bout?!? 😲 I haven't seen an ER2 up close and personal, but it looks wider than that to me for some reason. I mean, 14" is barely wider than a tele body. Looks like it's a 2" body depth, which I would like also.

    • @LucasHaneman
      @LucasHaneman  3 года назад

      Yeah, I think it’s the depth that makes it look bigger than it is. Also, I was sitting on a couch, and maybe slouching just a little lol. I was really impressed with this one. Thanks for watching!

    I saw one at a guitar store today and fell in love. unfortunately it was beat up - which might not have deterred me if there wasn't a minor wiring issue of some sort as well, and they wanted retail price for it.

      I can definitely see that as it reminds me a little of my T185. In person you definitely hear more of the nuisances. They are all great guitars though!
