Hey guys thanks for the comment! The XP Deus has revolutionized Metal Detecting and the D2 just sniffs everything out of the ground that takes this hobby to the next level. I share a link to your fantastic detectors on each videos description. Thanks for checking out my video.
Oh Lynn that land was full of stones. It was exhausting digging in soil that was more rock than soil. It was muddy as heck too. I had to limit my video digs due to the mud and powering on and off the camera.
Bonanza! Great & interesting finds! I must've missed the introduction to the site...but don't blame you a bit for the omission! Now don't keep us waiting for the next installment please.😊🇺🇸
I didn't do an intro on this Spicens. I've been experiencing local detectorists watching and recognizing where I am and coming in and misrepresenting themselves as being part of my "team." This site I experienced that very thing when they saw my truck there.
Todd, you are on fire finding so many relics and coins. An incredible location, can we fly down and help you😄🤨 How awesome to metal detect untouched land. Congratulations on a great hunt. Enjoyed your excitement. God Bless.👏👏👍😀
Best video I’ve seen in a long time . What a great bunch of recoveries Todd. Congrats on the old coins and that cavalry button. What a beauty! Looking forward to the next video. 👍
Dang it Todd. You had me on the edge of my seat this entire video and I have to stay there because there is another video coming from that site! Yet another great site and video. Thanks for sharing!!
By the way, all of your fans are very pleased to see you back in the saddle. Your videos are top notch and to see your enthusiasm displayed genuinely as you are making these great finds, is very addictive. It makes me want to stop whatever I am😂doing and go grab the metal detector.
Wow Todd what an awesome day you had my friend. These are the days we love to be out detecting. It's just so awesome to find these type of places thats never been hit before. An so much history you uncovered today. Can't wait to see what you find on the second trip. Congratulations on all you awesome finds Todd. Have an awesome week my friend. 😁😁👍
@@AppalachianHistoryDetectives - doing OK, gets better with time. Still struggling with the images at bedtime and random times throughout the day though. Helps to talk (and type) about it, I think.
I purposefully scratched that to see if it was Lead or Silver that might have been in a fire. I had posted the find on an ID forum and several comments came in that it still could be silver, and recommended scraping a small area. It is still undetermined but it rings up higher than Lead for my machine, but not as high as silver. It could be an alloy of some kind.
Just catching up on my favorite RUclipsr. I am finally using my tablet again. I figured out how to clean some junk off it and it's doing a lot better. I also have you on the tv as I type this. Its just easier for me to see everything on the tv. You are on fire at this site. I'm going to catch up on the videos I haven't seen yet. Take care and keep detecting. I hope you one day find a big bag of gold coins hidden years ago. God bless you and your family
Thanks Gay...it seems like I'm on a streak lately. I may have had a better day since then with much older coins (1694 and 1766) but my GoPro SD Card malfunctioned. I only was able to save less than 10 clips, so I'm doubtful I can make a video of it.
Awww but it's still awesome that you found those. Maybe if you can't show that you can show them together in a short clip just showing some of the most interesting finds. I know we are or have to use all this tech stuff but I don't like it. Lol. It's always something and my old brain us full of already useless junk they swore back in the 50s and 60s we would absolutely need. I'm still waiting after 76 yrs to use algebra. And the only foreign language u can speak is southerneses. I have 2 great grandsons who have spoken Laotian and English since birth since their dad is from Laos. The oldest one is smart as all get out and from just a tiny thing her said he wanted to be a soldier or politician. My granddaughter told him soldiers can get killed so she's pushing for him to be a politician. I asked her if she had paid attention to history because they shoot politicians. She being a smart aleck said I got that covered. She told julien politicians habe to speak 4 languages and be fluent in reading writing and understanding them. He looked at her and just as Solemn as anything he said no problem. Now at 11 years old he is fluent in not only English and Laotian he us well on his way to being fluent in Spanish. She tried telling him they changed the rules. He looked at her and then at me and winked. He said sure mom just like the 1st time you told me 4. There never was such a rule. He said you forget u can read in English and Laotian and now already some in Spanish. He's way to smart for me. I do pray that this world is saved for him and his little brother. All the children. But maybe juat maybe one of those will save it.
LOL whew!! I plan on either making RUclips Shorts with these finds since I do not have enough footage to make a full video. I have asked the guy who invited me if he would take me back out so I can add new clips and maybe have a full video. He is a student at Penn State, and only in on holidays so I might not see him before Christmas. By the way, my wife is a Math Professor and her degree is in Advanced Mathematics. She tutors my son in Physics, Statics, Calculus 4 in college. I've had all those courses for my degree (Architecture) but man I have forgotten all of it and don't use it now.....LOL
Holy smokes, as you say after a good find. I must agree with you 100%. HOLY SMOKES! What an awesome day detecting. The site seemed to be loaded with rocks as well as relics, but you never wavered. I also thought it was dry, dusty, and hot from the looks of your Deus II; however, as you continued digging, it looked like you had mud all over that bad boy. Isn't it amazing how having a good day can cancel out the negative things. LOL Was this site near any Civil War activity? That three ringer was in perfect condition. It must have been dropped.
Trivia question: if you come across an old jar full of coins, will the detector pick up on the jar lid only or will it detect the coins inside the glass as well?
@@KarenShea-q7h I honestly don't know. If the jar lid is closest part to the surface, it will pick that up real loudly (zinc). If it is a tin can it might be the average of the lid and contents combined.
You know you are the only commenter who made a suggestion on this piece and I'm surprised nobody has offered up any ideas. The piece is an enigma and I appreciate your suggestion on identity.
💥💥💥💥I've been doing this a long time. I tried that shovel about 5 years ago. The length, width, and angle of the blade, makes it slip sideways as you step down on the foot grips. You can see it in almost every hole you dig. It is not suitable for metal detecting. Save your knees and stop dinging your finds. Buy a real shovel. You're in the big leagues now
Do you have a specific recommendation? I have 5 shovels, and due to my back problem and arthritis in a knee, being stooped over with a short handled shovel and on my knees clearing holes lays me up for days. The soil here where I live is extremely rocky and the straight blade shovels have their issues here too. I would like to get a lighter shovel and a better one but let me know what you recommend.
@@AppalachianHistoryDetectivesI would recommend the CKG 40", T - Handle, Metal Detecting Shovel. Get some rubber tape to wrap the grips. The shovel you are using is contributing to your knee problems. After using mine for 2 days, my right knee swelled up a bit. Good luck and great videos!
Hey man thanks for the recommendation. I will look into this for sure. Bear with my videos though, I have about 6 at least that I have already recorded that uses the long shovel.....ugh.
Nice dig!!
Fantastic finds!
Excellent discoveries! That was fun!
Thanks Gordon. Metal Detecting would be wholly addictive if every site were virgin.
Wow, What a great site. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. I’d be beside myself digging in a place like that. Great video Todd. 😂😂😂
Love your excitement today. 🎉
Yay! Thank you!

You definitely found the hot spot. Looks like it’s worth going back again whenever you can. Take that 800 as well. It may surprise you.
I'm hoping to go back soon and enlargen my search for Civil War relics.
Sounds like a good time. Will be interesting to see what’s left laying in the ground

I agree, especially when you add it to what I find on my second trip to the site.
