My aunt was devoted to Padre Pio and visited San Giovanni Rotundo many times. She received communion from him and even took one of my younger brothers to Italy to receive his first holy communion from the saint. After Padre Pio's death one of the monks gave her relics of Padre Pio including a pair of the fingerless woollen mittens he wore when saying mass. We often loan it to those who are ill and in need.
My father was named after Pio when born in 1923. That was the year Pio was excommunicated from the church. My grandparents still prayed to St.Pio and believed in him by naming my father after Pio. I took have been to San Giovanni Rotundo. My father's middle name is also Giovanni! I took pray to him often and seek his guidance. God bless you!!!

He appeared to me in a dream and said that once you call upon him he never leaves you. When I woke up his books were stacked up on my kitchen counter near where I was sleeping. Those books had been in my office upstairs at the other end of the house. Just amazing.
