The fact that the whole episode was one long vat of acid joke was amazing, the pay off at the end just destroyed me Rick is also right in how everyone is conditioned to how he was such a dick. Most of the episode you spend just waiting for the shoe to drop and for him to stop being so supportive which is really anxiety inducing. Instead the moment never comes because he really did try his best to change to be less toxic and to be a better role model for Morty
This time, the vat wasn't meant to teach Morty a lesson, and Morty appreciated that Rick was trying to help and the vat was really just the last resort.
Not a podcast but reminds me of how Family Guy had Adam West be himself as the mayor but as part of the joke never make any Batman references (until like 20 years later or so)
Calvin attempting to list what atoms would be inside of an iron bar and forgetting to name _IRON_ as one of the ingredients that make up IRON fucking killed me
This episode's post credits were hilarious! Always love it when this show takes what could easily make up a whole episode into a throwaway gag. Who was that detective? What drove him to his crusade against hot dog trafficking? We'll never know!
The Pink Floyd's The Wall homage in this episode was so fucking good. I love the fact that Harmon loves my favorite movie of all time. He also referenced it in Season 1 of Community when Jeff sees that Pierce built a weird fort during a bad trip and says 'What in the Pink Floyd? '
I loved the callback to season 1 when Rick said ‘I don’t hang out on Pluto, that sounds like some Jerry-level shit’ The call back to Jerry visiting Pluto to prove it was a planet to Morty and ending up famous was hilarious.

Oreos are trademarked so the entire 3parts together makes up what qualifies as an Oreo. The filling is part of the cookie brand and cookie production/part so it’s part of the cookie just like icing/frosting is. Loft house cookies- Those clear crinkly plastic containers that have 12 soft sugar cookies that have the frosting on one side with sprinkles found at every kids party/school event the frosting is what makes it that cookie/memory. They often get squished. Oreos are made stackable so the filling doesn’t crush (like in hostess/other cakes) or break apart (how frosting chips off on certain brands) and you can pick them up by pinching both sides and not getting your fingers messy with frosting/sugar. Same argument for macrons and their filling he could control a strawberry one just as easily as a pistachio one. The filling is part of what makes a macron a macron and not just a flavored puff pastry. The filling is filling like a jelly doughnut it’s what makes it a jelly doughnut and not a variant pastry (the jelly quality depends upon company production making one brands different then another.) if he controlled all doughnuts the fillings that make things distinct is part of that control, how an eclair is an eclair and a chocolate frosted/filled round doughnut is different and how a glazed doughnut counts but a bagel does not. He might not be able to control a cookie ice-cream sandwich just the sides as the ice-cream part is a separate distinction/altogether brand/process. And wouldn’t control normal ice cream sandwiches because it’s more of a chocolate graham-cracker. Good news is that teddy-grams aren’t cookies they’re graham crackers so he’d never be able to make a cookie bear sentient army.
@@kaledmasterme that comes down to marketing. Both are American based even if the recipe for the cookie is originally from 1800s England. Hydrox cookies were bought by Keebler but weren’t marketed a ton because there were other cookies Keebler wanted to push more, more popular Keeblerbrand cookies in the late 90s (fudge stripes etc) so instead of having hydrox on the market as a competing cookie they would buy the company owning the other brand. Once they buy smaller companies they could retain the recipe rights from smaller companies and/or control how many ads/actual budget went into each cookie and what stores they sold to. Keebler didn’t push to sell Hydrox cookies they mostly sat on the recipe for minor profits and so that other companies would use that recipe/profit off of it. All while pushing other types of cookies to be more popular. Oreo is a knock off brand made cheaper then Hydrox to fill the market of that cookie being missing from shelves/ads. The recipe was visually similar but had softer cookies and more fluffly sugary filling then the comparative Hydrox. Because it was a cheaper version and more prevalent then Hydrox across multiple stores it ended up making more money and becoming more popular with kids/families/daycares to bulk buy then then Hydrox. Once it became more of a staple cookie they updated packaging/sizing/flavors/filling amounts/cookie thinness/etc to push profits higher. Because it’s a cheap knockoff brand that got a lot of money to it, the production of the cookie is still cheap the ingredients/measures don’t really changes there just more manufacturing/shipping and you have to make sure there’s enough variety so it doesn’t feel like you’ve eaten one cookie 6000 times and get boring/nostalgic so flavors change and advertising gets wild. (Similar vein to how sprite does promotional flavors/holiday flavors or other sodas like my.dew/coke do sports/artist sponsorships, the flavor can’t change from the original recipe too much but there can be variants and you can draw in consumers from other areas like sports/music/etc to buy your drink as part of brand loyalty to a different market then the drink itself.)
Magneto doesn't control metal. He has control over the electromagnetic spectrum and the most straightforward use of that is manipulating metal through magnetism. If Cookie Magneto is the cookie equivalent of Magneto then he has control over certain aspects of the food pyramid so technically he should be able to control anything with those ingredients
It was neat how the knights were totally right about the scepter, it was just one of those metaphorical things that eventually came to be taken literally, and nobody ever pointed that out
I like the fact they used the same frame as they were falling to make you realize it's the vat of acid again before the more obvious reveal of the ladle. It's so good 😂
Did anyone notice that Spice Beth was also in this episode?! I only noticed it now, she has really already become part of the family, next week is the last episode, I don't know what they are planning, but I think it will be related to her
Cookies are defined as "small, flat, or slightly raised cakes", so does that mean Cookie Magneto also has control over small cakes as well? If i make a tiny birthday cake could Cookie Magneto kill me with it?
I think Magneto's powers are based on him being able to create/manipulate magnetic fields, not metal atoms. Really this makes him absurdly more powerful if he'd actually utilize them beyond magnetically repulsing slabs of metal. I haven't read many actual comics, so I don't know if he's gone this far before, but that would mean theoretically he could do things like bend light around him (making him invisible) or microwave everyone in the vicinity.
The behind the scenes video for the episode mentioned it was like Morty stumbled upon the sixth season of Game of Thrones but with no information about who anyone is and now he has to somehow fix everything despite it
PRAISE THE SUN! Wasn't a fan of the episode at the beginning but the pay off was great! It started a bit slow I think. But I ended up loving it! It got better and better!
2:00 Iron is made of Iron, not carbon and oxygen unless you mean steel as that's an alloy of iron with some carbon and other stuff. Metals are metals at the atomic level, metals are elements. If magneto can control individual atoms then yeah he can control atoms of metals like iron, gold etc so could control the iron in your blood

Did they serious just make a Dark Soul’s “praise the sun” episode?! 🤣
When Pink Floyd's song came on, I just about lost it. That's a great musical choice right there.

The guy that morty stabs is totally Solaire from Dark Souls isn't he? That Tabard is a dead give away, especially with all the sun references 🤣
