I've been to Poland once, a week ago, with an ERASMUS ptoject with a group of friends from my school, from Greece. It's perfect! I would really love to visit it once again! Out of curiousity I looked at 'two thousand' and 'two thousand and two' :
Two thousand gold = dwa złota .... thus ends with 'a'
Two thousand and two gold = dwa tysiące dwa złote ... as expected
I also found from Google Translate that from 400 onward it becomes złota. Except for 1000 which returns to 'ych' therefore tysiąc złotych
But here's the thing, Google translate shows 500 as pięćset złota however on the 500 Polish bank note and as Monika says it is pięćset złotych. Thus is Google Translate incorrect?
Aha! Okay, it seems that if you use the word "gold" in Google Translate then it translates to złota after 400, 500, 2000 etc.
I changed the translate search to use the actual Polish word "złoty" for five hundred złoty, two thousand złoty etc and now it shows złotych. :)
Man this is a huge learning curve!!! But I'm loving learning Polish. Uwielbiam uczyć się języka Polskiego!!
