The Battle of Trafalgar (21 October 1805) was a naval engagement between the British Royal Navy and the combined fleets of the French and Spanish Navies during the War of the Third Coalition (August-December 1805) of the Napoleonic Wars (1803-1815). As part of Napoleon's plans to invade England, the French and Spanish fleets combined to take control of the English Channel and provide the Grande Armée safe passage. The allied fleet, under the command of French Admiral Villeneuve, sailed from the port of Cádiz in the south of Spain on 18 October 1805. They encountered the British fleet under Lord Nelson, recently assembled to meet this threat, in the Atlantic Ocean along the southwest coast of Spain, off Cape Trafalgar. Nelson was outnumbered, with 27 British ships of the line to 33 allied ships including the largest warship in either fleet, the Spanish Santisima Trinidad. To address this imbalance, Nelson sailed his fleet directly at the allied battle line's flank, hoping to break it into pieces. Villeneuve had worried that Nelson might attempt this tactic but, for various reasons, had made no plans in case this occurred. The plan worked almost perfectly; Nelson's columns split the Franco-Spanish fleet in three, isolating the rear half from Villeneuve's flag aboard Bucentaure. The allied vanguard sailed off while it attempted to turn around, giving the British temporary superiority over the remainder of their fleet. The ensuing fierce battle resulted in 22 allied ships being lost, while the British lost none. The tactic exposed the leading ships in the British lines to intense fire from multiple ships as they approached the Franco-Spanish lines. Nelson's own HMS Victory led the front column and was almost knocked out of action. Nelson was shot by a French musketeer and died shortly before the battle ended. Villeneuve was captured along with his flagship Bucentaure. He attended Nelson's funeral while a captive on parole in Britain. The senior Spanish fleet officer, Admiral Federico Gravina, escaped with the remnant of the Franco-Spanish fleet (a third of what it had been in a number of ships); he died of wounds sustained during the battle five months later. The victory confirmed the naval supremacy Britain had established during the course of the eighteenth century and was achieved in part through Nelson's departure from prevailing naval tactical orthodoxy.

were not the British ships with yellow stripes and french originally red. Watch epic histories thing on the victory. Shows a few things not quite right here.
We did not, no. We only did a subsection of the battle. Specifically the Subsection where tue HMS Victory engaged the French ship Redoutable. There were 60 Ships of the line at Trafalgar. We only built 6.
all lego star wars sets are my favorites because, Lego did a great job!! AND Hasan Malik also did a Lego giveaway but I didn't Win, I try my best to get some free Lego sets but I failed. Now you are my only chance to win that set. It's been 2 year's when I buy my last set, because my money is for my school so I have no choice but to choose my school instead to buy a Lego set, And we need to buy a PC for my mother's call center work. I hope you read this. thank you. But if you really wanna know what is my favorite star wars set of all time. My favorite Star Wars sets are the UCS millennium and the UCS AT AT walker set. Dude...he was referring to each fleet separately. The video does not show that he was gesturing to his fleet when he said 10% and then my fleet when he said 8%. There were 73 ships at Trafalgar (I said 60 because I was only counting Ships of the Line, I forgot about the Frigates and other small ships). His fleet has 7 ships (7 is 9.6% of 73) and my fleet has 6 ships (8.2% of 73). So his estimate of 10% and 8% respectively was almost dead on.
Thank you so much for featuring us!
Keep up the awesome work!
I hope to bring my castle to the next one, it is also very impressive. :)

Was surprised to see you here but I shouldn’t be XD

What’s with the little one sail ships/lifeboats why were they deployed alongside the ships of war and frigates in the battle?

Epic build. Trafalgar is one of the greatest naval battles in history.
Wow, this looks great with all those sails.
I've spent a lot of hours watching Captain x building those awesome ships of the line he did a great job on all of them
The whole video is just the red fleet flexing his money on the blue.
Chaylo & Lance are my favorite AFOLS. Watching the build progression of these ships was awesome.
the guy's knowledge of history and number of cannons their own fleet has is impressive and I know how he feels about balance
Great video!! They are truly Huge ships.

Very good video
Where can I buy builds like these?
The only thing I don't like is the mixing of yellow and realistic skin tones. I understand it... But I don't like it
Never liked the skin tones to begin with ^^ But yea mixing them is even weirder.
Then by all means, mail me enough heads to replace them all. ;)
@@CaptainXavier like I said, "I understand it"..... Getting flesh tone heads gets might pricy awfully quick

Why is the Victory in Spanish colours ? How dare you 🤣
Nice 👍
Good but I do not think you added Spanish ships

hey sir the pirate ship its so big i like the blue i have a pirate ship
The law of the battle of trafalgar is you must use every One piece hahahahah. my bad hahahahah
You’re at 11 out of 50 ships at the battle of Trafalgar
Very roughly the 50 is actually just counting ship of line. The real number is probably closer to 70.

Amazing can I bye one?
