they had content all the way to wotlk, they just couldn't do it in time before the promised release date of wow. if everything would've turned tbc and wotlk wouldn't have been an expantion but vanilla would've included tbc and wotlk but because they couldn't make it in time of the promising release date they just released what they had which would turn out to be what we know as todays vanilla, thats why the patches came pretty fast and they could finish all the things for tbc and wotlk and decided to make it into what we know today as expantion which became a big factor for their marketing. Which if u think about it makes sense night elves starting zone is at kalimdor and blood elves starting zone is at eastern kingdoms. all the easter eggs you could find in vanilla were there because of the two next expantion, it wasn't like they were teasing it they were just keeping it in vanilla because they knew it would become a part of the game somewhere down the line because of all the undone material as we know as tbc and wotlk today.

One day a gm msged me and asked me how I got there. I showed him the hill I would wall jump to get up there. after I showed him he thanked me, then 30 minutes later all servers went DOWN for emergency maintaince, (all of them) and when they came back up an hour later, the hill I used, had be altered and I cou no longer get up there from that spot.... took me, oh about 25 minutes to find another spot.

I think Cut throat Alley was suppose to be a Area for Rogues. I heard it once before long ago. Where each Major City was suppose to get a Location for their classes. Just like the area to the right as you are about to go over the bridge in Stormwind. To the right there is a path down. That area was reserved for the druids Class area.

  • @TheToledoTrumpton

I think there is/was a quest in cut-throat alley. It may be a blacksmithing quest, a class quest, or one high up in the SI7 quest chain that not a lot of people do. But I seem to remember you going in there and having to fight off some cut-throats. It was hard to find and the name was the only clue you had, that you were in the right place.
I thing the Ashenvale place was also used in a Warlock class quest that was removed.

There were several ways of getting into Mount Hyjal in vanilla that were removed slowly through patches. In early vanilla you could die near the gates and just walk through as a ghost and rez on the other side. After that was patched out you could use the unstuck tool (if your hs was on cd or deleted) and get teleported to the other side. After that was deleted you had to go through some jump challenges

You can get under Stormwind from the torch to the right of the underpass as well. Or at least you could last time I tried, which was probably back in Wrath.
And I doubt you’ll be banned for going there. I don’t think Activision cares. Either that or I’ve just been really lucky with all the places I’ve explored without getting banned.
And when I went under Stormwind I did it on my Blood Elf. So I think I would have attracted more attention to myself than an Alliance player.
But generally they won’t ban you unless an exploit is game breaking - if it give you an unfair advantage in leveling, the market, raiding, or PVP. But getting under Stormwind is pretty benign and effects no one other than your character.

    • @spirit5877
      @spirit5877 5 лет назад +1

Yeah, I agree. I never got in trouble despite all the times I went down there. Even during the stress test there was always atleast one other person down there. If it bothered them that much they could fix it rather easily, but they don't, because I think they don't really care. The only time I know someone's gotten in trouble is when they went in the gated off instance portal section of Stormwind, which you need to go under Stormwind to get inside of. Plus it wasn't just one person, they brought a whole raid group/guild

Missed the Hellraiser dungeon below Karazhan. There was a gate, which you could pass through as a ghost, and explore this winding dungeon area, including rooms full of chains hanging from the ceiling and upside down people hanging from those chains.

I'm pretty sure the hidden Troll village was an early stage of development or plans for the quest chain for alliance in Darkshore that takes you to that troll village to fight off the trolls near the end of the Darkshore campaign

I still have the CLUCK! quest on my Horde shaman (was shared a while ago by someone who faction transferred) as well as the original AQ gate opening daily quests, which are all still shareable. They've been in my quest log for over a decade now.

The Shatterspear troll village is actually used in modern Darkshore. Alliance players leveling through the zone will eventually fight their way to the vale, where the Shatterspear trolls have aligned themselves with the Horde and are encroaching on the Night Elf settlements.

It was possible to get into hyjal through the gate in the demon area as well, if you died right beside the gate, then a night elf spirit could jump and push at different spots and work through the gate and resurrect on the far side.
When I got in there years ago, it actually had some under construction signs on the path near the world tree.

Cut Throat Alley used to have a quest there If I remember correctly. I can't remember if it was rogue only though, but you had to go in there to get something and some mobs unstealthed and attacked you.

Often guilds will hold meetings in cut throat alley and a lot of people use it to log out if they pvp. You basically talked about fight club.

The troll village was just a flight path cosmetic. There are lots of these all over the pre cataclysm maps because the continents were actually not completely developed. Places like the troll village are just fillers. There was also a goblin lumbermill between Stonetalon Mountains and Desolace, the Silithus cave in Dun Morogh, the house and creek between Burning Steppes and Northshire, Dun Morogh airport, the farm between Wetlands and Dun Morogh and so on.

There is a quest to the area by that monument to Grom - I did it earlier. The demons in that area drop the item 'Diabolical Plans' which lead to a quest called 'Never Again!' which has you in that region killing two boss NPCs

#4 The Grom Monument, there were a couple of quests back in original Ashenvale, that took u there. The quests were optional tho, so many ppl may not have done them. The quests had nothing to do with Grom, just the usual kill x of this and collect y of that. Grom was just there.

That wasn't the only path to get under Stormwind, there was an AMAZING view behind it/above it. As someone that stopped playing because of Cataclysm I feel I can somewhat safely mention it. I still have footage of the very long trip there back before I knew about the torch trick and only heard rumors of going under SW, I found my own way as I'd made it my mission to explore as much of Vanilla WoW as possible.

Gotta get noggenfogger elixer from gadgetzan before you goto mt hyjal and once your done exploring there’s a path off the main trail looking over auberdine, you can slowfall from soooo high that if I remember right, the pot usually wears off before you can even float all the way down.
Also, under iron forge you can glitch through a door in the throne room and get under it, big place down there.
And lastly the ironforge airport can be wall jumped to get on top of iron forge also and see an unused airport 👌

I used to like going in to the building at the back of the hidden Stormwind alley and lay my character down in the bed when I would log out back in vanilla. If I remember correctly, there is a horde friendly merchant somewhere that sells the chicken feed so Horde can get the chicken, but maybe this was added after vanilla.

One time my character was standing next to an instance portal when a Horde came by and feared him. He ran through the portal and behind it. No Masters Glaive but the Hellscream Monument?
Hope there will be a part 2, a lot missing in my opinion. Still great Video.
Some examples what I am missing:
Silithus huts behind AQ (swimming from tanaris)
    Masters Glaive (nearly never mentioned)
Azshara Crater (in original 1.12 was doable by wallclimbing the hills, just needed speedboost at 2 jumps)
Old Morast (Caverns of Time) and CoT themselves and old hillsbrad foothills with slightly different model
    The Great Sea Unused
"Outlands" / hellfire peninsula (no, not that shitty Deadmines part)
Designer Island and GM Island were both actually on the normal world map. GM Island to northwest of Darnassus, Designers Island to the north-north east of Quel Thalas Tower
    Booty Bay Bell
Uninstanced Zul'Farrak and Shadowfang Keep ( I let you explore what both have ;) )
Hope this helps for part 2

the masters glaive isn't really hidden.. at all.. Onu sends you there to do a quest and there is also an escort quest inside and also a rare spawn. the lore of the masters glaive is pretty sweet tho its basically an old god with a titans sword in its skull!
