I remember it word for word from my grade school days. Surprising how many people don’t know that it’s a parody of “Running Bear” by Johnny Preston from I think 1960. There were lots of fun parodies back in the day.
My uncle Bobby was the best uncle. He had built a camp in Lake Luzerne, NY. He had a jukebox inside that had this song. It was my favorite song. My uncle gave the record to me about 42 years ago & I still have it today. Good memories at my aunt and uncle's camp. Both of them have passed away. RIP Uncle Bobby & Aunt Nancy. I'll always cherish all of the good memories in Luzerne ❤
I was a Rock fan when this song came out, but my folks listened to C&W and that's how I heard it. I loved it! I actually recorded it off the radio on a hand-held cassette recorder.
Jim Nesbitt was my grandfather we lost one of the greatest musicians when he
Passed wish I could of seen him back in his day

Love Never dies xx
They don't make music like this anymore. A golden classic.
There will never be another Jim Nesbitt
This was the road trip song when I was young. My dad sang this to us.
I can't believe I found this! We used the listen to this on a 45 on my jukebox
I wonder what would happen if it is played a bit at the 1.25 speed mark, an increase to the normal?
My father used to play this song on his guitar and sing it to my siblings and I. He would replace the girls at the creek bank, with our names.
Mom raised us onmusic ( preferred country ) & comedy. I was around 13 when this came out. Great combo of both
He had some great songs 👍

I knew Jim Nesbitt, never knew he recorded this song. Guess I didn't know him well enough.
This is awesome
I'm getting old
I wondered if it was played on Dr. Demento's Show. I have never heard this version before.
Bare facts
Hilarious
People on 90s will understand this music. People like me in the 2000s wouldn't at least not for me
What's the difference between running bear and running bare not the naked truth about it
I took Jim Nesbitt's daughter to the prom.
Resemblance to Ray Stevens The Streak
Adam and Eve this is for y'all
Such a cute song and true to real life many times for us......lol
