I believe this was the last song the band ever released, as part of a P.E.A.C.E comp that came out in 2010. Personally I think it's one of the best they wrote. It's a lovely swan song, but also very bittersweet, especially the lyric "Cause I'm not ready to die, but I, I'm ready to live." RIP Voxtrot x
I don't think that's correct Richard, I remember hearing this song as far back as 2008. I think Dream Lives of Ordinary People was actually their last. Oh, how I miss them.
@@jslbrt You're right, it turns out it was actually one of their earlier songs, but wasn't officially released until years later. I still like to think of it as a swan song though haha, even if it sounds nothing like their later output (but it won't be a swan song for long, now that they've announced a reunion tour!! :)
They are going on tour again for the first time since I was a teenager, I’m gonna go, I know I am gonna run into wonderful people I love dearly but was too much of an underdeveloped idiot to treat well enough to still be the family I miss, cheers, when the time had come for leaving I loved them instead, and it hollowed me.
Please send me a sign And set me up against the lane Give me something I can trust In all the drama and change I followed a dream And if a man is born to fall Then let me live against my creed In all the filth of it all And I can drink My whiskey and water and Fix folly and peace 'Cause there's a price you pay To live this way, it's called release Please drop me a line And send me love and sun to boot 'Cause I am idle, drunk and well Busy with nothing to do This body is cold I have to make the grade alone 'Cause I have traveled far to find I need a room of my own Where I can Break kindly with fortune 'cause She's something to be She's spending Saturdays in Partick With the SSP And I am charged guilty as sin Because it hurts me to know That she is working so hard But for the joy of stock control Oh let me Sing out to myself And polish off these bottle cries And send them down to Saville Row 'Cause I'm not ready to die But I, I'm ready to live Can I make it out with pride Played the left wing let down king But I've been something to hide And I can Run to you for cover and We'll bury the dread And when the time has come for leaving I will love you instead Oh won't you Sing something in minor key This stillness is bleak I could be dreaming with the Guilt we have for the working week And in the warm arms of a stranger I'm Too happy to lie I know we've both been here before Just please don't ask me why And I have Walked here with you close to me But never alone But won't you cling to me in major key You're the joy I've known All the joy I've known (x5) Lalalalalalala lalalala
this song makes me cry. what a great band. reminds me of walking home from school in the early afternoon in 2008.

Their last song was Berlin without return
they are back!
@@1337revolutionary that sounded really diffferent than their earlier stuff, I hated it at first, but then grew to love it
This band is so peculiar, is so good, a damn shame i got to know them only this year

Please send me a sign
And set me up against the lane
Give me something I can trust
In all the drama and change
I followed a dream
And if a man is born to fall
Then let me live against my creed
In all the filth of it all
And I can drink
My whiskey and water and
Fix folly and peace
'Cause there's a price you pay
To live this way, it's called release
Please drop me a line
And send me love and sun to boot
'Cause I am idle, drunk and well
Busy with nothing to do
This body is cold
I have to make the grade alone
'Cause I have traveled far to find
I need a room of my own
Where I can
Break kindly with fortune 'cause
She's something to be
She's spending Saturdays in Partick
With the SSP
And I am charged guilty as sin
Because it hurts me to know
That she is working so hard
But for the joy of stock control
Oh let me
Sing out to myself
And polish off these bottle cries
And send them down to Saville Row
'Cause I'm not ready to die
But I, I'm ready to live
Can I make it out with pride
Played the left wing let down king
But I've been something to hide
And I can
Run to you for cover and
We'll bury the dread
And when the time has come for leaving
I will love you instead
Oh won't you
Sing something in minor key
This stillness is bleak
I could be dreaming with the
Guilt we have for the working week
And in the warm arms of a stranger I'm
Too happy to lie
I know we've both been here before
Just please don't ask me why
And I have
Walked here with you close to me
But never alone
But won't you cling to me in major key
You're the joy I've known
All the joy I've known (x5)
Lalalalalalala lalalala
I know this is 2 years old, but I'm pretty sure he says "rain" at first, and not "lane". Cheers mate
