Great video....Your battery acid and sandpaper trick for the bus bars worked really well for me, I just installed the version 2 nexcell and the results are amazing! Dumb question, why was #11 module low after installation (the green bar) reading below that bar read 10 like alot other's. U are a VERY good professor. U are SO meticulous & I like that, ESPECIALLY when u go thru the trouble to replace a traction battery. I own a gen 4 & want to be prepared. I sweat like a pig in the heat, u guys be careful. I know I will have to.😉👍

I was considering buying a full set of these nexcell upgrade for my 205 prius. Do you recomend this upgrade? It seems they may have had issues with thier first batch that went out.
I've purchased a set of NexCell batteries with installation pending. Do you have any "simple" suggestions to keep the factory NiMH battery cells viable and nominally charged until they can be repurposed or reused? Thanks

José I'm thinking of hybrid battery out on my Gen 3. What's a good battery balance charger you would recommend for someone here in the UK? The ones I've seen online have bad reviews and seem like they could cause more damage more than anything. I can't get hold of the prolong battery charger here

With the new battery that have its own cell balancing circuit board. Is there a additional step needed to work with the cars BMS. Or does the individual cells work in conjunction with the vehicles BMS.

What country are you in with right hand drive cars? There's a setting in your phone so that when using the front camera it doesn't mirror the video or photos.
Did you have any corrosion on your service plug connector, or battery ECU pins?

@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics Thanks for the reply. I'm doing my install this weekend and got a new Frame 2 harness but am still hopeful there is no corrosion elsewhere. I can sand and solder any corrosion on the service plug connector but if the ECU pins are bad I will have to wait for a replacement from Ebay.

According to manufactures technicak information these modules do no produce any fire at all...

I agree that A lithium battery at first glance seams a amazing upgrade however, charging a lithium battery with a alternator poses a problem due to a alternator cooling issue and can lead to the alternator failure and burning up. What is your opinion ?
Not at all.... these vehicles does not use alternators...

wow - the nexcell whole pack is only 1.4kwh!? so low. blade capacity: 7000+ mAh blade nominal voltage: 16v. So thats about equivalent to 5s2p of 18650 cells, imagine 10 of those cells together, that's waaay smaller than one of these blades. no wonder they're so light - they must be all air. If I was replacing batteries I would want one that utilised the entire available volume for batteries not air. Then I would actually increase the battery capacity compared to stock. What is the point of replacing the battery with one of only the stock capacity? I would eagerly buy a replacement if it had the same volume of lithium ion as the original NiMH - which make it at least a 5kwh pack.
I don't want to watch a 26 minute video to see if you're replacing the BMS. Are you replacing the BMS?, and if not are you at least reprogramming it?, and if not, how are you changing the battery chemistry and cell voltage so drastically and not replacing or reprogramming the BMS?

How are you going from using a battery chemistry that has a cell voltage of 1.2v to one that depending on the specific lithium chemistry has a cell voltage of at least 3.2v using an unmodified stock BMS.
