    Thank you for this technique, for reassembly I recommend taking a small chain to let the springs rest on the intake camshaft, use force with the two wrenches,Then use the chain to put the two rods of the spring back in place (this puts less force on the screw to put it back in place) (I'm French, sorry for the translation...

    U can also use a good plier and take the lower part of the spring out of the rocker, this will reduce tension further.

    To put it back on (valvetronic springs), this technique is quite painfull and risky for your head and thoses bolts :/

    • @buildanddrive
      @buildanddrive  3 года назад +3

      Yes it is, but if you have an extra pair of hands/someone helping you, it will save you the 400$ to buy the valvetronic tool only take off 6 springs. My rebuild is done and the engine is back together and running with no valvetronic issues. Just editing all the videos now. If you are worried, just buy the bolts for the springs in case you damage them on the way out like I did on the first one

    Hi, i know you did this a year ago but at least it's fairly recent. I'm working on my n52 and took off the intake cam already, but I'm having trouble getting it back on. How did you get it back on, particularly where the cam is down? Does the lifter or valve spring need to be compressed?

      Make sure the QR codes on the camshaft are facing upwards from the cylinder head. That way no valves should be open. Have you watched all the way through? ruclips.net/video/BqEMRnSvwN8/видео.html

    Will you be replacing the metal oil seal on the camshaft with the newer style that doesn't damage the bearing ledge? I think you were very lucky not to find it worn, makes me wonder if it was replaced already.

      @buildanddrive  3 года назад +3

      Yeah I replace the camshaft seal with the new updated Teflon on in later videos 👌🏼. Nice catch. You know these engines well!

    the space between the block and the bridge oft the head should be ZERO

    • @buildanddrive
      @buildanddrive  3 года назад

      Yes very true. The head gasket also can "fill" some of the imperfections and since we are not going for a lot of horsepower, the block isnt going to flex much so we can allow for some tolerances in both the head and block.
