I agree, especially this year when they gave best actor awards to Ranbir and Alia. I mean they are great actors, and I loved Karan Johar movie and Alia in it, but when you look at the other roles in that nomination list it just doesn't make any sense.

BTW, guys, there are two kinds of awards for some categories in Filmfare - e.g.. Best Film(Popular), Best Actor/Actress(Popular), etc and likewise, Best Film(Critic's choice), Best Actor/Actress(Critic's choice) etc. The slides didn't mention it specifically, so I assume they mean the "Popular" type. For e.g. I vaguely remember Shahid getting the Critic's Award for Best Actor, but that was in the Best Actor(Critic) category. I may be wrong on the specifics, like if Shahid won, as I said since I am quoting out of memory, but that's how it works.
Nawaz is absolutely goated but truly Rajkumar deserved the award that year for KPC, imho.
Filmare once upon a time used to be credible
now theyre not.
For example this year Alia 100% did not deserve best actress.. specially for a very average role for rocky and rani.. rani mukerji stole that show same for ranbir.. vikrant deserved that best actor. they add the critic awards just to make ppl happy

Karan Johar has started having great influence at filmfare awards since last few years and one of his boyfriends Ranveer, Ranbir or srk is given d award, also his daughters like Alia, n Ananya janvi get it unnecessarily
Filmfare south awards is there for south indian film industry.
Filmfare East awards is there for bengali, Assamese , odia and other eastern indian film industry
And Filmfare awards is Bollywood.

You watch Filmfare awards? No one in India watches these awards now...
These are given to those who dance on the show or who can pay for it... people like Ajay Devgn and Amir Khan don't even attend it and that is why there movies are never nominated.
It only goes to protegies of Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra for obvious reasons.
Aamir Khan stopped attending awards because in 1996, filmfare was biased towards ddlj & they gave all the awards to them although Aamir’s character in Rangeela had received a lot of applause that year, but SRK won the best actor award for ddlj

Well Mammootty doesn't even qualify to be on the list for 2024 since Filmfare Awards are exclusively Bollywood/Hindi cinema. There is a separate Filmfare Awards South catering just to the 4 major industries of the South. Commercial award shows in India are separated by language/industry & state/region. The only pan-India awards for all languages are the National Awards, and that is given by the Govt. of India.
How have you not reviewed Haramkhor yet?
Filmfare is the oldest award and its reputed 60-70 yrs history but in recent years there credibility has been bad with picks. Dilip Kumar and SRK have equal highest popular filmfare.
Popular choice award is for big successful films nominees.
Critics is more for niche stuff so small budget films don't suffer.
Filmfare south is different from this one.
Srk and dilip sahab both have equal now as a best actor but srk has more in total filmfare awards.

All the normal categories like best actor male, best actor female, best film, etc..is chosen based on fan voting and all the critics categories such as best actor male (critics), best actor female (critics), best film (critics) is strictly chosen by only the votes of critics...but ofcourse i don't know about the critics categories but normal categories are for sure rigged..

Filmfare awards have lost its charm and importance since early 2010s.
Nowadays you already who will win based whichever nominees appear at the awards.

So the majority of awards they thought should have won for “artistic merit” did win both in the game and when they googled for this year’s winners but they still kept repeating the same old crap about “box office numbers blah blah.” This is not only an embarrassing reaction for these two (if they ever feel embarrassed about anything they say) but such a self expose on their racist view of Indian cinema.
Some clowns have told them that India is all about box office so their brains can no longer process factual information even when they see it with their own eyes. Incredible.
