Ive seen it happen. Ive got a feeling it something to do with the cover. Like the team is getting in the cover youve asked them to, and the MG ends up unable to setup facing the correct direction while maintaining the formation, so it gets forced into another arc.
That could be the case in some circumstances it even happens to me when I tell them to set up in an open field, if I had a quid for every time it happened this week, I could probably pre order COH3.
@@SimplyInept In which case its probably a case of some crew members getting themselves into the 'dots' before the gunner, even when the dots are hidden by the game. Its probably got worse since MGs formations have been messed with, the origional game code hadnt planned on that.
I also think it might sometiems be some sus model running off the map screen in random dirrection then a squad is wiped out, that mg just follows it and switches direction
For example then you have multiple path ways over river like bridges and so on and there is that dumb capture point then barely 2 tanks can fit next to each other on bridge and your teammates either dumb push and block your retreating commander panther or the bridge has invisible pathfinding isues due to blockages of map which were visualy broken by fire of arty/tanks and bombing, but still blocks path as invisible wall and your tanks are having rotation party

They setup automatically in the way thy see the enemy even if its for a micro second they will.
When that happens, I just let them die, they brought it upon themselves.
