Well, in order to proper play guitar in their best expression, you'll need to speed up in some point, the classic ones did it with their instruments, so we do till today, of course it doesn't necessarily means that you're awful if you can't, but you're missing some parts of your training with the instrument.

@@Dextrome I'm not sure what I was thinking when I wrote this, Larry Lalonde has a clear structure to his playing and since the bass takes the roll as lead instrument in the band, he instead uses his guitar for ambiance to create dissonance and an atmosphere that is off putting. They juxtapose in a way that works and are extremely talented musicians that have a sound that can't be replicated. Richard Benson just does mindless shredding that wouldn't fit anywhere.
