Thank you Thank you.... this is the best yet. I have not practiced in over two years due to an old shoulder injury acting up with age (72 yrs. young) and numbness in both hands due to carpel tunnel issues. MY POINT BEING, I am going through PT for the torn rotator and have had carpel tunnel release on both hands. I am increasing range of motion in my shoulder and now building up my grip in both hands..... These Basics are just the best way to get back to practicing and working with the PT and getting back to where I was. Again, Thank YOU!!!
Thanks so much. The two part stick version sounds definitely great. I just started training with weapons for self-defense, the Bo staff not yet. Have a slight preference for the short stick and kubotan (the long stick doesn't go well with my rather low ceiling...🙂). Your way of teaching is so great, and it all looks so masterful...! Thanks and stay safe too!
Greetings from Poland. Your movies are real "mine of knowledge and inspiration". Thank You very much for sharing Your experience :) P.S. YES - I would like to see this double-stick BO. :)
Thanks for the video. I'm a little skeptical about hitting anything with a staff held together on a threaded connection. Threaded connections aren't terrible, but they aren't as strong as a single-piece shaft. If I'm going to be in a fight, I'm going to spend the whole time worrying that a strike on the threaded connection will result in the connection breaking. I love the idea of a practice staff that I could take apart and put back together for practice purposes. I'm just skeptical about fighting with one. The guys at the Karatemart channel are really nice. I've ordered a few things from them. I moved a few hundred pounds of snow tonight. My body hasn't responded to exercise in the way it did before I became sick. If I had moved all this snow back when I was healthy, I'd have shoulders like a bull. I can only do anything for fifteen or twenty minutes at a time, but I feel good when I can move some snow in that time before turning back into a pumpkin.
Great training. I never had to smash anyone in the head for self defense but I notice it’s a lot easier carrying in the groceries with all that arm strength. 👍
When I was younger, I preferred the bo, then grew to love the jo and hanbo for their length practicalities, and I’ve evolved to love the sai better than I used to. And yes to the two piece bo staff, holster and all. Be like Jesse James of the wushu school or something. 🤠
Thanks so much for sharing, I'm starting to think that this could be the best weapon for self-defense, but one of the issues I think is if the attacker gets close to you fast enough, by the time you swing the staff or make any movement, it would be too late, especially in tight areas.
Hi Matt I would like to see the two piece bo staff.
Hi Matt!
Yes to the 2 piece bo staff
Be well
Thank you. They want to send me a spear instead! I think it would be good for a zombie apocalypse.

Fantastic
Excellent book staff demonstration. Please share a minimum of two katas/ poomsea of bo staff for interested of your lovers.
Good video.....as always
Staff spinning is good for flexibility and learning to hold on to the staff. It helps hand strength with escrima and jiu jitsu.
What's a good bo to start with? For beginners?
My favorite beginner bo is made of rattan and 72”. You can find one here bit.ly/2ZS1Cku
😊that Matt😊
The red part looks like really hot metal
Slow is smooth; smooth is fast.
Sadly Darth Maul wasn't played by Matt Pasquinilli :p
Ray Park was Darth Maul. He’s a great martial artist! Thanks though!!
